Personally, I prefer to have a yugioh anime series that isn't rush duel instead of a movie, and no, I don't mean a reboot of the original series I mean a new anime
Only way I'd be fine with a reboot of the original is if they actually used their IRL, modernized decks for every character instead of the janky BS the old show had.
What's important to keep in mind about DSoD is that it was NOT a continuation of the original show/GX's appearance. It's a sequel to the manga, which definitely diverts from the anime in quite a few places.

Yugi can serve as the mentor/guide for Joey's journey. Also, what about good bakura? He deserves a well thought out arc. He never was around bc evil bakura was in control. Also, I'd love to see Joey and Kaiba develop a bro-ship and Kaiba becoming more like his ancient priest self
Without Kazuki Takahashi, it's not gonna be the same... It's basically another cash grab by Konami trying to promote new possible cards that could release later on after the film, again this is just my solid opinion. Darkside Of Dimensions was very pleasing to watch and was also the last movie Kazuki Takahashi had any involvement in.

I think just because we don't have creative input from Kazuki Takahashi doesn't mean the story can't be good. It just sucks that the movies are all based around Yugi/Atem. That is what makes it feel like a cash grab because it's almost "nostalgia bait". They should shine the spotlight on Jaden and Yusei and give those characters a big story as well. The west coast never got season 4 of GX, it'd be nice to see a GX movie with more darker themes and a darker story.
@CyrusIsnt He was on the first 3, DM, GX and 5d's, which was enough for me, for me YGO ended rightfully on 5d's. We sadly can't bring him back, right you are, i agree. But for me symbolic original essence from the creator is a key part, again it's just my opinion ^_^

You can tell when someone doesn't keep up with the ongoing anime/manga storyline since Duel Links is canon to DSoD and established a multiverse with at least 3 different timelines. So the part about Atem not being able to appear is nonsense. Eventually, manga Kaiba will get the Deus ex machina to duel Atem in the afterlife dimension.
I really prefer a crossover movie connected to Duel Links (like DSOD is also tied with it). Konami needs to learn from Toei how to introduce a new season and its new protagonist in a movie (like in Super Sentai and Kamen Rider specials) :v

I have to bring this up because it looks like the word did not get out to most people but Konami animation IS NOT an actual animation studio, they do not have the man power currently to support doing their own projects and animes they are just a support studio for anime productions and others gaming/anime projects doing stuff like final checks, motion capture, R&D etc etc. They have stated they currently do not have any plans to make any sort of lore anime or anime in general in the near future. Any future ygo projects and animes are currently only being done by Studio bridge (NOT KONAMI) who has made the first two rush duel animes so any new ygo anime stuff will come from them not konami animation for the time being

I heard rumors some months back about another YGO movie, where Yugi was expected to pass the torch to Jaden. But assuming your rumor is true, I feel this would be a more a realistic Yu-Gi-Oh Boomer movie to produce. XD. And I speak as a Yugioh Boomer. The reason, I find this a more realistic direction for a movie, is because Yugi’s inner battle from DM was one of self esteem and if he could ever be as great as Atem, who was his role model. DSoD, also a good a movie, did not touch on Yugi taking the torch from Atem, but rather, Kaiba and Yugi both coping and trying to accept Atem was gone. Therefore, DSoD was more a movie about mourning. But how does Yugi grow to take the baton and fill Atem’s shoes? We did get a glimpse of this in DSoD, though not entirely. So it will be interesting to see Yugi having that inner battle again, and is seeing how he evolves as a character.
In all honesty having Atem being this 1 character tucked away is kind of annoying. Especially since majority of us loved his voice actor yet they use him for everything else voice wise. 2nd if they did a movie I would have loved to have seen All main protagonist team up and see how they interact with one another and see the different variantions of decks and how they interact with each other.
Dsod was manga canon not anime. So a new movie wouldn’t have to stick to the gx style canon. Though I’d prefer a new movie be canon to the anime not manga
I rather yugioh have more non world at stake with a children's card game being the be all end off if you lose. They can still use that. But change that percentage.

Correct! In DSoD, Pegasus is Dead. Kaiba was never in the Atem Send-off. And most importantly, they are using IRL rules with 8000 LP.
