You are very helpful in advising people how to feed their cockatiels,I was impressed more videos should be made for people starting off with a bird like this.I believe in variety of food for any animal.My cockatiel is now 32 years old and he lost his brother at 29 years old,I also collect seeds and different grasses for my bird when on my daily walk there are so many varieties but I always make sure they haven’t had any pesticide sprayed on them.Also because my two birds lived in a huge aviary and my last one is on his own I go in lots during the day I also put my phone in and play lots of cockatiel videos for him,lots of mirrors toys even a boxed bed full of soft tissues which he goes in every night,he’s slower now sleeps a lot and will not Shed his own sunflower seeds but he’s healthy.
Thank you for such an excellent video! Muy teatro parkes ATE any vegetable or fruit, but my cockatiel was eating veggies at the begining but then stopped. Now I am grated carrots and other veggies and mixing with budgie seeds, and she has starting again to eat a healthier diet!
I feel terrible because my cockatiel has a mainly seed diet, I have a few vitamin blocks in his cage and he sometimes eats what I eat, but I'm trying to get him to eat a healthier diet, I try to give him some fruits and veggies, but he doesn't really pay attention to them.
I use Nutriberries as a base diet and then veggies and millet etc. for treats. The nutriberries are the same ingredients as pellets just not ground up and the seeds it has are hulled with vitamins on the inside so they don't get wasted like most bird food where they put it on the shell and it gets thrown away so every bite of the nutriberries is the same nutrients. Read their website and you see how much care goes into their ingredients.

You need to make sure the peanut butter doesn't contain xylitol, typically found in reduced calorie peanut butter. Avocado warning should be stressed a bit more. Under no circumstances should birds be directly exposed to avocado or avocado oil. The pit is the most toxic part but it leaches into the fruit as well. Both of these warnings also apply to other pets like dogs and cats.
