In a fierce but friendly contested encounter at the Remo International Stadium, Ikenne, Remo Stars took the lead in the 16th minute of the game courtesy of their Togo export, Frank Kwane after Tanimu Benjamin and Sunday Anyanwu failed to clear their aerial line. Divine Nwachukwu responded for his team five minutes later with a jab in from close range after finding Ebuka Akobundu's cross from a well-planned free kick between the supplier and Osas Okoro.
