Michael Mando, you made "Better Call Saul"👍👍 for me. Your acting, your class, the way you carried yourself with the likes of Eladio and Lalo. You are a very believable actor, and I have to say, in episode 3 of season 6, I came to know the full scope of your abilities. You are class act. Hope to see you in many more projects. You are a class act!!!

That is one fine piece of acting by Michael Mando. As a son and a father, for me that scene is simply crushing. Nacho's resigned burst of laughter at the end ... he knows what he has to do to save his "Papa". He's determined to carry it out; and he's also sobered because he realizes what it will cost him. All of it is communicated to the audience by that brief gasp of a laugh. Wow.

This 'adios papa' will haunt me for lifetime. And I will love the character Ignacio Nacho Varga till my last breath. Such a great character arc!

But what about Papa's backstory? We need a prequel to the prequel.

He was probably exposed to mexican gangsters in his time but never joined. His morals wouldn't allow it. He got training for his business in mexico. Worked hard. Saved money and immigrated legally.
What we really need is a spin off on crazy 8s dogs that chewed out the back seat

This moment is Michael Mando's finest moment of acting on the show, and that's saying something (esp. considering S6E2). I am always amazed how actors like MM can say so much without words...being able to use every line in his face to communicate so much more than what was written on the page.....
(Kudos on the writing, and striking that perfect balance between "saying" too much or too little.)

I was hoping he would say I love you

He did. He said “I wanted to hear your voice”

If he said “I love you,” which he never said before, his father would know that he would be in danger.
He didn’t want to let his father worry about him. That’s why he said “si papa” when his father told him to go to the police.

it's hard for grown men to say "I love you" especially to each other. Maybe it's not the case for everyone, but personally I have a much easier time telling my mother I love her as compared to my father. I still try as much as possible, but it's more awkward and uncomfortable. Overt masculinity and the facade of appearing tough and apathetic is a big character flaw of Nacho. Men are often brought up to be less in touch of their feelings and to pretend that their emotions don't exist. You can feel Nacho trying to build up the courage to tell his father that he loves him, but in the end he isn't able to get it out of his mouth. I can relate to that feeling a lot. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but I thought that was what this scene represented.

@@sihyuanwu5492 I agree with you, especially in the criminal world emotions are seen so much worse, so he put on that “tough guy mask” to survive.
