Replacing the front passenger door latch. It will not lock in place when door is shut closed. The door latch is broken. Need to replace with new part.

OMG!!!! The three tabs at the end were the WORST! I had everything back together, all buttoned up, but didn’t get the tabs in correctly, they caught the window on the way down, had to undo everything, and spent the next 2 hours trying to get those tabs in the slots. Finally got it done though. Thanks for the tutorial! Good stuff!!
wow 1 handed! amazing! I had issue with my fiesta door not latching shut and this video was a great assist. called the dealer for the part and they ran my VIN# they found out it was a recall on that vehicle for the doors not latching shut so they fixed at no cost to me. however this is a great DIY video!
+dno1stunner Thank you for the comment. This was my neighbor car. I told him it should be under warranty or a recall on it. But they told him they would not replace it for free because warranty lapsed and there was no recall on the latches yet. So I replaced it. Please subscribe. Have a nice day.
great video. i would add one thing that worked for me. i started the two 10mm bolts that hold the window before replacing door cover. if you just turn them enough to hold them in place, it’s easy enough to tighten them down once the window is in place and the cover back on. hope that makes sense.

Managed to actually repair the lock itself after 6 hours , just tested it. Unfortunately this took way longer due to breaking the ribbon cable while opening up the casing. Main problem was the motor inside the lock, the little resistor/thermal fuse not even sure what you call it had continuity but for some reason just wasnt giving the kick, wrapped it in some tin foil & its good to go.

I just scrapped mine and the fact that this dude only used one hand is insane. Mine was a bit different tho. Had to lift the glass off the holder completely to get out the door card
This latch just broke on me. Won't close! Now I gotta find this stupid part. And not lose my mind taking it apart

Hey, I have a 2011 fiesta and my rear passenger window went out of alignment, to re-align it you would just loosen those two screws like you did at 4:20, then just adjust and re-tighten?

Do we need to disconnect the battery because of airbag sensor on the door?
Samara Ring hi samara, you do not need to disconnect the battery. There is no air bag sensor on the door that I’m aware of. If you feel there is a sensor then you disconnect the battery

It is a defect in the cars. Check your status on your VIN here: vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/

+Fix It Angel its no longer under warranty. i just now have the power train warranty. i decided to just take it in. they would give me 2 yr warranty on part. i was just told to hold on the receipt if it is ever recalled. thank you for your speedy response
