This guy haven't been outside of any cities by the way he talks about public transportation and cars. Cars are required to live on a daily basis in most areas, especially the coast.

Most of us actually own cars but not In big cities, kind of like it is in Newyork. For big cities public transports are prefered more.

    I in Norwegian by city;
    Oslo: jeg
    Bergen: eg
    Sandnessjøen: æg
    Narvik: æ
    Toten: je
There's about 400 different dialects (some are so different from each other natives struggle and have to switch to "Oslo/bokmål" to communicate) and two written forms of Norwegian (yes we have to learn both).
    Have fun!

You forgot to tell that people pay taxes in Norway! Many pay 35% of their wages in taxes! That is why we have little poverty, as these are assisted by the Social Office. And we get help in hospitals without having to pay for it! Due to tax.+++

2 month vacation? No, 5 weeks, and most can only spend 4 of them in a row, so to speak. Listening to this man, and another one from this same channel, I have to say Im struck by how nice they are, and polite. We, as Norwegians, are as good or bad as everyone else, I think.

Stores are usually open from 27th-31st of december, if 24th of december ( christmas eve) is on a friday, Monday-Thursday is normal (27th-30th). Stores on New Years eve closes earlier, the same is on Christmas Eve.

We only have 5 weeks holiday during the year.
But one can only do 3 or 4 weeks in one go during summer. The rest you can do whenever you want during the year.
But then we have also xmas holiday, easter holiday and more shorter holidays.
So . well it adds up nicely.

There are actually more weapons per capita in Norway, than there are in the US, we just do not use them to shoot at each other. and all weapons must be registered with the police, and one must have a hunting license, or be a member of a weapons / gun club, to be able to buy them. there are of course exceptions, here like all other places. the police, as he says, do not use weapons unless it is a serious incident.

    OECD: middle class
    US 50%
    Norway 70%
EU Poverty rate (below 60% net median):
    US 30% (less welfare)
    Norway 15% (rent, utilities, food)
    Shopping area: pedestrian area
    Most important thing though:
Prices are high bc avg wages are twice that of US, taxation similar (payroll, soc sec + health ins)
Norwegians have 5 weeks vacation by law, paid sick leave and paid parental leave.
    Home ownership:
    US 63%
    Norway: 81%

Nice words 👍😊 But the most of us do have.cars. We are not so many people so you don’t get quite the same traffic you are used to. The shops are open from December 26. to 31. if none of this days falls on a Sunday. The most of us is secular or none believers. We automatically become members of the church when we still had state church.a decade ago. What ever. The most of it was spot on.

Lol there are tons of poor people in Norway, and poverty is a growing problem, as the difference between rich and poir only gets bigger. It’s just not as noticeable as in 3rd world countries...most people here can afford the same things, so on the outside they may not appear like the struggle, but behind closed doors...it’s more visible in other areas like vacation, activities outside of school etc. Also unless you live in Oslo like me, and rarely go outside the city border, then you may not meed a car, but everywhere else, you do. Unless you wanna walk in the cold, and rain, or take public transportation which outside the big cities is shite. I grew up in the suburbs/country side, where the bus comes once every hour. Not fun...you have to plan everything when it comes to time management and transportation unless you don’t wanna be able to get back home at night lol. Sure there are taxis/cabs, but expensive. Like in most countries, it’s one thing to just come here for a short period of time, vacay etc, than to actually live here permanently. Most of these people has not lived in Oslo, but on the west coast of Norway like cities like Bergen/Stavanger which is quite different to Oslo.

Dear mr. ? Come wisiting and I PROMISE You the "lutefisk" will not remotely remind You of anything "jellyish"! If it does, I don't eat it! "Lutefisk" shall have the texture like well cooked cod! The extra that should come with "lutefisk" is the concentrated flavour. And then some.... :-) Extras should be fried bacon, green pea purée, bechamel sauce with plenty of nutmeg, real norwegian goat's cheese and the one You don't miss: The legendary Almond potato, which is the potato that is mainly grown in the regions of Norway where the dish originally came from. Bon appetite!
