FanFood It's a real thing! When you've been around for someone for a long period of time, you tend to copy the person's posture without you knowing it! It's amazing, really. Like me, I tend to follow all of my best friends' movements all the time.

I know right? I could just feel my heart breaking when he said that. I literally wanted to started crying.
I'm sure Cat would've heard it and taken it out if he was serious, Phil didn't look worried, it seems like Dan uses comedy against any bad feelings. I understand why you'd worry but he has a lot of friends and so many people to talk to, I'm sure if he actually was depressed he would be getting help, if he were making it so obvious and being serious at the same time.
+Kelsey Houskeeper Phil did look worried. He only looked worried for like 2 seconds but probably because they were filming. But Cat just kept talking about the inkblots. I think it's just that the inkblots made Dan remember of his depression and it made him sad again. But there is also vids where Dan says he's depressed (Not directly) and he not only sounds serious but his facial expressions show it too. And Dan wouldn't joke about depression (because it's not a topic to joke about in the first place) and he didn't even sound like he was joking. I just wish Cat showed more emotion but like I said Phil and Cat probably didn't show anything because they were filming. I hope this made sense
I understand what you're saying, but I think you're all worrying yourselves. Take Shane Dawson for example, he jokes about old problems and current problems he's had. I'm sure Dan does something similar and people are taking care of him.
0416ally I kind of feel like Cat didn't pick up he was serious (I'm just assuming he was) And left it in thinking he was joking but Phil knows him well enough to know by his facial expressions that he wasn't. Just an assumption, No real evidence here.

Tbh I'm kinda scared cause like I always related to Dan on a deeply personal level (you would not believe how much I procrastinate, how much I depend on escapist fiction, how I've been having an existential crisis since before he even posted videos on the topic) but now this us just terrifyingly close to home. Stop bitching about Dan not being enthusiastic enough. He always tries his best to keep his audience entertained and uplifted. He can still laugh at himself, even if he might be "properly" depressed inside. Those are great qualities which require lots of inner strength in spite of darkness.
Guys, I'm p sure Dan was "unenthusiastic" bc his personality cards remind him of his bad habits and past depression. It's probably weird, esp after hearing Phil and Cat's happier and more positive ones, and we all know Dan used to struggle w self-esteem (still does a little). Then again, he may have just been tired and grumpy. I don't know.
I really wish we could get an unfiltered vid w Dan and Phil where they just talk about their thoughts or whatever...I really like honest videos that show that the TH-camrs we like are real people, but Dan and (sometimes Phil) are just too heavily guarded

I think it's because he doesn't really believe in fortune, ghosts, and superstitions. He was there because Cat asked him to and being the great friend he is he agreed, but thought the whole thing was kinda silly. Also he isn't very enthusiastic most of the time that's just how he is.

Coming back to this video makes me so sad because you can tell how unhappy Dan was.

But it also makes me extremely happy because you look at the more recent videos and Dan is so happy with Phil, he seems much happier. I love that Dan found Phil and vice versa because they complete each other. No matter if just a friendship, or more than that. They make each other happy and I couldn't honestly see them with anybody else. It's funny to think if Phil hadn't got the crappy little camera from the cereal box and made his first video, none of this would have ever happened.

There actually is some psychology behind these (idk if these cards were the sciency ones or the knock-offs, but) generally, certain types of people are drawn to certain colors and patterns. For example, Phil's is bright red and loud, and it says he is creative and outgoing. Cat's is light pink and blue, and those are often associated with optimism and lightheartedness. I could go more in depth, but I suspect I'm boring you... Sorry, just my science side showing.

It's really scary that I was drawn to the one Dan picked, and the handbook perfectly described me.
With stuff like this you tend to get one or two things that describe you, and then get amazed by that and forget the fact that the rest of the text wasn't good at describing you at all. Most people fall for it, because our brains are much more similar than we like to admit, and therefor much easier to trick than you might've thought.
I often find when reading my Horoscope, or things that describe people born in my year/month, I usually go like "hmm.. oh.. Oh wow, that's right! Hmm..no.. no...mayybe...ok" Sometimes it's a broad description that can stretch to almost anyone.
