Saw Baby Boom today...my kids all grown...made me realize I made the right decision for me.. I'm a 51 year old man...that despite my illness.. smiles come to my face with songs like this.
It is a shame that this girl didn't become a bigger star. She had the pipes, could write and looked marvelous. A lot of people don't know that she is the one that wrote "The Man In The Mirror," which became a hit for Michael Jackson from the album "Bad," which also featured his duet with Siedah on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You." It's too bad that Siedah came along about the time when mediocrity and flash over substance became the order of the day. This girl truly had it all.
Sincerely praying that all is well with you, and in your ongoing battle that you are the victor. May God's blessings pour out abundantly on you, always.
I love the film Baby Boom and I have ways loved the beautiful song from the time I first heard it many years ago. Everchanging Times" is a song by American singer Siedah Garrett. It was written by Burt Bacharach, Bill Conti, and Carole Bayer Sager with Bacharach and Bayer producing the song along with David Foster for the 1987 romantic comedy film Baby Boom, directed by Charles Shyer. In 1992, the song was released as "Ever Changing Times" and was re-recorded by American recording artist Aretha Franklin for her thirty-sixth studio album What You See Is What You Sweat (1991) with Michael McDonald having featured vocals. The song served as the fourth single from the album.
My friend took me on the Coast hwy in So. California, on the way to a beautiful outdoor restaurant for my birthday . Such a perfect spring day! The sky and ocean were the purest of blues. The sun 🔆 was glistening on the water. Then this song came up and we both got teary eyed. It makes my heart ache - in a good way. Love this rendition. It reminds me of how much fun (and some heartache too) I had in the eighties.

This song was an eye opener for me. I actually listened to the words one night and after decided to made some profound changes in the life I had left. Never looked back!❤
TV ONE better get to cracking. Siedah Garrett is definitely "Un Sung". I remember when this song came out. I trying to sit and listen, watch, and not cry. That's how relevent it still is.
Wow... Was watching BABY BOOM and this song came on. Totally took me back to elementary. This was my dear friend Pam's favorite song at the time and we would try to sing it at recess. She made it on over to the other side the same day my sweet daughter was born 19 months ago. May God rest her sweet soul. I love this song, although it brings bitter sweet memories for me😔
Sorry you lost your friend. That's sad . I'm a huge Michael McDonald fan and this song just popped into my head the other day . I am a huge music fan . I remember Michael doing it on a cd . But I do love Baby Boom . Maybe that's we're I heard it first I'm not sure . It was in my subconscious m
Me in 2022! One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies ~ "Baby Boom." When I was a child in the 80's, I wanted to grow up in the world the way it was then. I truly wish I had.
Emelia Tagoe: I can 'see' the past unspool when I hear this song in the context of the film. I visualize watching the movie with my wife (she passed away too young from cancer in June 2002) then in these later years watching with my fiancée (after-effects of cancer surgery in April 2016 claimed her precious life) and the lessons of life are driven home in the absence of some really beloved and wonderful people. Best wishes.
I cry when I hear it and reminds me of what I once had and lost it and my heart breaks. I cant believe I was so wrong. And I love just because it's just such a beautiful song.
once again ladies and gentlemen another virtual classic song from the Vault of 1987! she sing this song like no other this song sends chills down my spine to this day! we all have taking X and years for granted! and they're gone we wonder what just happened! I remember when I was just a little boy in Southern California listening to this song! so another words time flies and so does life and the people around you! So look around and grab ahold of what's there because in a blinking of an eye it could and we'll all be gone! I dedicate this song to my late father who are lost on September 8th 2013! You are loved and missed so dearly! Whoever has gone through already know what I'm talking about. so enjoy all and remember take care!!
This magical song becomes more profound as the years go by... The lyrics are so reflective of our lives. Did we get what we dreamt about, are we happy in our current situation, did our lives turn out the way we thought it would?? I sigh every time I listened to this song.
Thank you for uploading or sharing or whatever. This original version I adored. When Queen Aretha remade it, and I thoroughly enjoyed but, I felt it buried this original hit. Siedah should've gotten way more recognition for this when it dropped.
I remember auditioning with this song . I was 24 and it meant so much to me then , the words, and it still does now. I see the clock up on the wall better than I did then.
This song speaks volumes....listen with your mind and your heart....it is more than words on paper and your ears appreciates the meaning behind the music and the magic of it ...period...🤓

This is the first, best and most heartfelt rendition of this song. Plus it also fits within the context of the movie's theme. I think maybe JC's story needs a sequel 27 years later to show how the choice to put family first changed more than just her life. The short-lived TV series didn't count.
Steve Cooper I would definitely love a sequel but knowing todays world jc would probably be played by some 19 year old girl and made into a in your face comedy corn ball flick my idea would be that elizabeth now grown would follow in jcs foot steps and be a successful business women who is getting married with twists and turns along the way
This song has a deep meaning for me. This is how I feel about my daughter who was born two years ago. My life completely changed for ever but I will NEVER will change it for the world. I love her soooo much ❤️❤️
My 3 children are 28,33,39 and I remember the day they all were born. Every birthday I tell them about their real bdays and what happened that day and how they all took forever to come out lol. I tease them and tell them their was a time that they wanted to stay attached to my hip. Hey laugh. Of course now there so busy. They all live about half hour from me and always visit and see them alot They are and always where and will boutique to be my world. Enjoy ever minute with your daughter. In the blink of an eye there responsible adults with their own children. Give her all the tools she needs to be an awesome women.
" wondering if the dreams I still believe in would come true". that line has become so much deeper and more profound in my life at the moment . I was 17 years old in 1986 when this song came out. I'm still wondering if my dreams would come true...
In order to fully understand this song, you have to fully master the essence of what time really means. I remember this song so vividly. It came on my stores PA system when I was thinking of my girl leaving my life forever going home to the PI. I always thought that she would come back to me, but she never did until I was married 6years later. And although a part of me wanted to reconnect, I just couldn’t. We had a beautiful time together, a real love. What could have been. This song brings everything back. I could never get this song out of my heart...or her really.
Really, that's your sister? I know a lot of people feel this way, but I feel like no one loves this song more than me. I'll never forget seeing it on New York Hot Tracks, probably December of 1987. Then, don't forget we didn't have internet, didn't know how to get a hold of this song. Took me FOREVER to get the right version. Such a great arrangement and no one else would have pulled off Garrett's subtle and convincing vocal.
There was a time when time was all that I thought of and this song really motivated me. I was both dad but at the same time motivated. I remember this fabulous woman while walking with her to her car, helping her (A Mercedes), due to my job at the time. She was so down to Earth, Smart, kind & a Classy woman. There were many Celebrities around that area...but, I remember this woman, and her unique name. It's true, that we remember those that made us feel good. That treated us nice. ✨❤️🙏🌿🕊️
This song was actually written by Burt Bacharach and Carol Bayer Sager, who was his wife at the time, and Bill Conti, Who co produced it with David Foster. It in no why detracts from her immense talent
Can't explain the feeling. The song means so much to me! It's like I just close my eyes and camp out right here, transported back in time and I can literally feel those tears start to well up. Not sure how to explain it. The realization of a time lost just hits so hard and the song just brings me right back there again. That's the power of music

I first heard a version from Alton Black, a jamaican singer, so I was used to his version... I actually saw the movie Baby Boom, but I was so young to recall this song.
The baby boom movie became my life in my late 40s, had to raise my granddaughter at 2in half yrs old on an overnight placement from department of human services, changed my life drastically I lost 2 jobs along the way also!, I'm 63 she's bout to be 20 this month, was a long road, but we made it though with God's help, wouldn't trade her for any other kid on earth, my heart my love. Watched this movie a few times with my two sons back in the eighties, so ironic, it was my oldest sons child i raised.😊❤❤
This Track Makes you THINK About LIFE. And WHERE You are Goin In IT...... In Your YOUTH, you're NOT concerned about TIME Passing by. But, as you get a little OLDER, you begin to 'sense' it going faster. This Song was released in 1987. I'd just gotten a Good-paying Job in CHARLOTTE, NC & Bought a Newer Used SUV (a HYUNDAI Excel....) Both my Foster Parents were Alive, then. They are both Gone, Now (Tears.....) I WISH I could just TALK to them. I'm Closer to 60, Now, than I am to 55. I often wonder WHERE Did the TIME GO. I'm TIRED. But, I'm NOT Ready to LEAVE, yet. I've been Married & Divorced. Raise a Family (1 Child & several Step-Children) NOW, I have 4 Grands whose Mother (my daughter) Doesn't Ready Care or LOVE them, like she should (Long Pause...……...) I'm NUMB. Because I didn't TEACH her to be a Sorry Parent. I Can't LEAVE them until I KNOW those Grands will be able to MAKE IT in this Mortality. I DO CRY at Times, because I Know What they may have to Endure for. So, for me, I'm NOT READY To GO, Yet. BUT...…………..I'm HAPPY To Say..... " The CLOCK Don't Bother Me, Much Now. But because The CREATOR has my 'Expiration Date' in HIS/HER/ITS Hand...….."
I can relate to your post. Like you said when we are young we think life will go on forever and we think our parents will never die. My parents are gone now too, and it really gets you realizing that you are next! Makes it real. Sorry to hear about your daughter and you feeling like she isn't stepping up to the plate and loving and caring for her kids like she should, that is very sad. All you can do is give the Grands your love and try to talk some sense into the daughter if she will listen. You are right, the Lord will take us home when it's our time, thank goodness we have our faith, without the Lord what would we do.
Love this song by Siedah & Aretha. I bought the movie many years ago, love it too. What I really liked about the movie was she (Diane) didn't realize her full potential until she was challenged with a long lost baby cousin. And became head of her own business & found love!!🌤⚘️
Wonderful wonderful song very very talented singer songwriter producer siedah Garrett! Many people don't know she wrote songs for Michael Jackson & so forth! Dennis Edwards song don't look any further just to name a few! This song is from the original motion picture soundtrack Baby Boom 1987! when times were so simple your neighbors were not afraid to leave their doors open & invite you in & so forth I can go on & on but I'll just leave it at that take care all music lovers! wherever you are & whatever you might be doing always remember to pray for everyone out there take care may God bless! You all... And as always enjoy listen to Vintage music out there!! 🙏👌🖐️👍💥🤘👨👩👦👦😎❤️
I think that's her in the video with Dennis Edwards "Don't Look Any Further' there's a funny version white couple imitation of Don't Look Any Further. Hope you find it and enjoy.. blessings to you and yours

I love this song. Siedah sings it in a very tender way. Aretha sings it with power. Both are beautiful.
Eu amei esta versão também.

Absolutely amazing with so much simple wisdom. I sent this to my Daughter, so applicable.
In order to fully understand this song, you have to fully master the essence of what time really means.
One cannot understand its meaning until time has passed and you have both love and lost, to become aware of its existence.
Time is the essence of that which both has seen and yet to come. The only truth from it will be either a joyful or painful memory.
And it will be in that moment that one becomes totally aware of the purpose of how valuable time is!
Peace!

In 1992, the song was released as "Ever Changing Times" and was re-recorded by American recording artist Aretha Franklin for her thirty-sixth studio album What You See Is What You Sweat (1991) with Michael McDonald having featured vocals. The song served as the fourth single from the album.E
I first heard a version from Alton Black, a jamaican singer, so I was used to his version...
I actually saw the movie Baby Boom, but I was so young to recall this song.
we watched this so many times in Enugu Nigeria back in the late 80s/early 90s. Loved this and "Don't look any further"
I always come back to this song whenever changes come about in my life
I never forget this song since I was a teenager bring back so many memories!
Such a beautiful song. It takes me back to my childhood.
One of my all time favorites. ...
I see this movie over and over also this song I love it!
My favorite movie ever!!!!
Love this song by Siedah & Aretha. I bought the movie many years ago, love it too. What I really liked about the movie was she (Diane) didn't realize her full potential until she was challenged with a long lost baby cousin. And became head of her own business & found love!!🌤⚘️
