- Every stage of HB130 is completed in house at the Hope Technology factory. From the carbon lay-up to the painting and the final assembly, we headed over there to provide you guys a insight into just what goes into the production of a top end hand made carbon fibre mountain bike.
The HB.130 FR - A true Factory Racing replica. It's long been a goal of Hope to move into painted frames and over the last year the company has invested in the staff and facilities to make that dream a reality. Each frame is obsessed over by the in-house paint tech Bailey. He is responsible for all the painted frames and his attention to detail is amazing, guaranteeing each frame comes out the booth looking stunning. The FR is built to the same spec as the bikes ridden by our factory race team and features an Ohlins M2 fork and a TTX Coil shock. The FR replica is available in limited quantities due to the time it takes to produce each one.

People say: I can buy a car for the price of a "bike". I say : A "bike" is a passion that can only be understood by a mountain biker or any other bicycle lover in general. The cost, well it goes on par with the quality. There are bikes for all but not all want the same so choice is a blessing.
Strange analogy but its the same for being into car audio. If you are not a basshead no one will ever understand why you want more and more bass and it ends up costing thousands. But yes, I got a hope carbon seatpost for my road bike and it is a piece of art
I personally know someone who has spent $70,000 on a single watch. People who don’t understand watches don’t understand. It’s the same with any high end hobby.

It is more fatigue-resistant, but less impact-resistant than aluminium and steel. Carbon is only strong in its intended force vectors.
Stronger only when it doesn’t hit hard the ground ... aluminium is better when u hit a rock or something with the frame.

So soothing to watch and more so watching you work in a CLEAN workshop. Other builders take note.
The young dude doing the paint and labelling work is great at what he does, it's all perfect.
That was the shortest 29 minutes video I have ever seen. I wish it could be more lengthy. I got so much indulged into it that I assumed myself to be there. Peaceful surrounding and dream builds of mtb is love 😍.
Wow, absolutely amazing and such a stunning bike with all the Hope components. Did anyone else want to a) be allowed access to green drawers to pick your components of choice and b) in a mischievous mood change one of the green components for an orange or purple one just to see if anyone would notice. I've used Hope components forever and that bike is something else.
Wish this technology was available some 20years ago when I was still young...

I feel most sorry for any current HB owner now this thing is available, money no object this has got to be a dream build for anyone, i'd want to hang it on the wall in my living room and just look at it, never mind riding or god forbid getting it muddy !

The carbon frame build process on this bike seems way more reliable than on the unno burr.

Yeah, I thought that the instant I saw the process, let's wait until that all process goes to a production line and then Walmart bike will be all carbon bikes haha
I thought the same, Hope seems to be a far more controlled and repeatable process. I'd love to see a video of both being cut down the centre to see the internal finish. One thing that stuck in my mind was the extra dressing work having to be carried by Unno post mould.
