I wouldnt have a job if it wasnt for reptiles as my anxiety is pretty bad especially around people i dont know autism doesnt help either but if reptiles are brought up i can hold a conversation and not feel awkward im normally very quite around people or new people except when it comes to reptiles right now i just have ball pythons blue and red tegus and a female blue tongue i need a male but i also did breed bearded dragons but the people around here that deal with them or want them tend to be dicks or not know what their doing and want another for free and or money back when it was not my fault you left crickets in the cage and it died due to the wound because i have care sheets printed out for each animal i sell i also talk to them amd let them know what to do and what not to do and a main one for baby bearded dragons is dont leave crickets in the cage unless theirs plenty of food but even then i dont because ive had them dp the same thing even whem their was strawberries and veggies in the cage

My plant collection has scaled back some now but it still resembles a small jungle. Cats and 2 axolotls are the resident pets. @@murrijuana2842 That's not what I meant, and I think you knew that. I am struggling with addiction myself, though not with any substance addiction. I know it never goes away, but breaking away from it is a very accurate description of what you have to do: you have to break away from what connects you to the addiction. Also some, but not all, addictions are both physical and psychological, the physical withdrawals are usually the easiest to break, and those can be hell. The psychological ones though... those are the ones that really get you.
If you are also struggling with addiction, I wish you all the best and all the strength in the world. Lift people up, it will help you feel better as well, you win nothing by putting people down.

I bought a dragon a couple of months ago and she was a sweetheart I took her out side and I am not sure what happened but she got down and I am in a wheelchair and it got ran over I was just going crazy and crying and she died the next day I was just going through it, and I will not be getting another one until I get my operation so I can take care of it properly. I have to say that I still miss her she actually had a bed and I would like say it is time for bed and she will get over there and go to sleep I have never had a dragon like this before. I did go and get another one but I couldn't get it to be a good fit for me so I took him back and before we got there the dragon bit me he had to know what was going on but I think someone would be a better fit than me. I went through the same thing as you.

This video is my favorite one you put out. I was seriously addicted to opiates for over 20 years, went to treatment 5 times and have 6 felony convictions. I’m now 61 years old, just got my first 2 reptiles (2 Ball Pythons) and have been clean for 19 years. Opiate withdrawal is the worst, painful experience I’ve ever been through…I wanted to die. My life is better than I ever could’ve imagined now. I’ve owned my own business for 15 years, own my own home, truck and travel trailer. For anyone going through an addiction, like this man said, you CAN get through it and have a good life. Congratulations on your recovery and your Beardie’s are gorgeous!!! Thank you Dav, for this video!!🦎❤️🦎

Beardies are absolutely the best! My first, Hermione, helped me recover from an emotional trauma where I was unable to sleep, couldn't leave my own house without debilitating panic attacks and could barely eat. I would cuddle and obsessively pet her and she calmed me down. She was always there when I needed her, giving so much love and comfort that I was eventually able to leave my house as long as she was with me. People suck. Bearded dragons are better than people.

I would like to offer you love and continued strength in your recovery! You made some very courageous and hard choices and you are winning your fight. Please, please, stay the course. I know recovery is a life long journey, as I am sure you do too. I am so proud of you, even though we don't know each other. From one human to another, who just happens to care and is compassionate towards people with the disease of addiction, I believe in you. Sending love from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️ p.s. I am a slave to 6 beardies myself. I have not struggled with addiction but it has affected my life. I am a single, disabled mum of 3 kids. Beardies really help me through PTSD as well as my many diagnosis. My animals help me on a whole new level and I think we are both cut from the same cloth in that regard. I have a clutch in an incubator right now, even though I don't get success. I will keep trying. Anyhow, just wanted to add that about me to let you know that you aren't the only one who's life is enriched by these beautiful creatures. They also bring my kids and I closer too.

What an amazing story - and well done for having the strength to know and do what you needed to do. Your Dragons are beautiful and I couldn't love the viewpoints of the health and care of the animal being the most important thing more. Animals can make the difference in the way you view your life - I deal with hardcore depression and anxiety and there are days that if it wasn't for my little ball python I wouldn't get out of bed. That little life depends on me being able to pull my crap together and get out of my head. You are an inspiration - and thanks Dav for doing this video!

Love this guy!! This is what keeping should be!!
I quit drinking 6 years ago, now I have my beardies to help keep me sober and alive too, plus I can’t afford to be an alcoholic now that I have beardies lol they helped save me too. But same same, I had to hit bottom and want to quit before it was possible, it took 7 years of half-arse trying before it was possible. I believe it’s up to us recovered to share our experiences, so that others may know it’s possible too. Thx for sharing Liam! These are Amazing critters. God bless you! You did it!
Random: the background noises, is what you hear when keeping dragons, lol it’s so soothing to me, I hear it here and I jump up to see what their up to, they don’t like pooping in their enclosures, so it’s sometimes a sign they need out to poop lol
Us addicts were meant for more in life, some of us are given the chance to find out what 🥰

Firstly this video really touched me and hit home. I my self suffered from addiction many years ago. Then recently this past December I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.(a very rare cancer) I have always wanted to have a poison dart frog and finally purchased one then it became now 7 frogs. These frogs have genuinely given me a drive to keep fighting. I have had a deep passion and love for frogs my whole life. Eventually they will be passed to my daughter who has the same passion but at this time besides my family these frogs have really helped me in so many different ways. Taking care of these frogs have been just an amazing fun experience and I truly hope others can have the same experience and love for animals an I ln return change there life in some way.

This is awesome! I'm also glad to see there's an ethical breeder in MN! There's something about beardies, once you own one they win your heart forever. I'm glad they saved you.

This is such a touching story! Very inspiring! Wishing him all the best! There needs to be more people like him in the world, people that can fight the struggle of addiction and turn their lives around. We’re slowly working towards breeding dragons within the next couple years! We’ve always bred leopard geckos but there’s just something so special about beardies. I can fully see how bearded dragons could help change someone’s life. They definitely make the perfect campions!

I’m from mn and I LOVE this video !! I could not tell you how many people come into the pet store I work at saying their beardie hates them or being handled when mine will cuddle into me. I know they have different personalities but I feel like a majority of it is mishandling. I have a normal morph and she is the most beautiful baby I’ve ever had :)

I am truly convinced that many reptile owners and breeders would be falling down a terrible path if it weren’t for these amazing creatures. They force you to reevaluate the world and inspire you to fulfill fill your passions. Im glad you were able to highlight this story.

Animals in general are great for sobriety. Having something else to take care of is great motivation for taking care of yourself. I'm two years sober and I didn't get sober because of animals but since I've been living alone I've gotten twelve animals in about a year and fully credit them with staying sober.
