I would love a tutorial on making one of these encyclopedias. Love them💕. Thanks for sharing your journal so inspiring 🥰. Gorgeous happy mail. Your moms journal is precious 💗
I think the best part of your journal, besides the beautiful, artful presentation on every page, is your daughter's costume and your mother's journal. I hear your happiness and pride, and that is nice. I can see where you got your talent from and your daughter seems creative too😊
Sometimes I don’t have much to journal about either so I thought I’d go back and find some old photos of my kids when they were young and journal about whatever they were doing in them. Love your journals!😊
Thank you for sharing your journal. I really enjoyed having a peek into your life. Your mom's work is amazing! I see where you got your creative genes. 😊👍❤
Omg your Kath impression was brilliant! I’m Australian and loved that show so much. Absolutely Fabulous is another of my all time favourites. I can rewatch those a million times 😂
My husband and I are empty nesters, but we do help out with the grandkids. I don’t seem to have much to write about these days. So I have done some books to do collages in. I’m spending time cutting pgs out Gluing. Them into my books. Louise
I’m from Denton, Tx originally. I live in Houston now. You mentioned a General Aviation Airport, which one did you fly into. I used to do a lot of business with the one in Conroe, Tx when I had my rental car agency.
Melanie, we have a University of California extension here in our town and they offer a Master Gardener class which I might sign up for this fall. We also have a very good horticulture department at our local community college, which is just down the street. I often walk down there to look at their gardens and see what they are growing. I took a couple of classes there over a few summers. UC Riverside, an hour away, has an excellent entomology department!
By the way, we do NOT have a lawn in the front yard either. I have native shrubs, sunflowers, and hollyhocks, as well as zinnias, cosmos, and lavender, rosemary, and mint! :-)
Cheryl Ann Dean I enjoyed becoming a master gardener and I love that the program always has lots of opportunities to keep learning. I too took some horticulture courses at my local community college - Dendrology was my favorite! Don’t get me started on entomology... I can talk for hours! The insect world is so fascinating and most people just squash them and move on. I sometimes go outside just to hunt them down and observe them. 🐞🐜🦟🦗🦋
@@MelanieSullivan I'm TRYING to raise the 6 year old grand daughter to love nature. So far, I'm succeeding! And, her 3 year old brother wants to come over and see Nana's sunflowers! Kids these days stay cooped up in the house and don't go outside, especially here during our brutal summers.
This time I really wanted to tell you about your impact on my journaling/ journal making..... but I can´t stop laughing about the sign you make for your dogs.... "it doesn´t work, because they couldn´t read" ....... Sooooo dry!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
I had been using a heavy chipboard that was the same thickness as the covers, but I ran out of it. Now I’m experimenting with old board game boards. They’re really rigid!
There were so many things I wanted to comment on for this video but now that I’m at the end of the video I can’t remember them...arghhh We do both live in North Texas and your daughter’s costume looks great on her! That’s all I can remember....🙄 I think it was even journal related...oh yeah, I just love your cut out words. I saw you do it in a video once but I don’t know if I could figure it out. Thanks for the video my sort of neighbor! Ok I read someone else’s comment and now I remember...you should ask Rachel at Roxy Creations for the meaning of the Australian slang. That’s where she’s from originally. Ok, I’m done...
Nicole is right, Phuong. The larger the spine, the more space you’ll have. There’s really no other way to avoid it if your pages get thicker than your spine.
Hello, I think Maryann ( pocketfullofvintage ) here on youtube may be able to assist in your australia research not positive but you could check with her as she is either a true australian or had been there for many years
Oh my goodness, I forgot about Maryann! I haven't seen her videos in a while, but I used to watch her all the time a few years ago. Her voice is so relaxing too! I might have to message her - thanks for the tip! She was one of my early journaling influences.
I’m the same way!! I get bored with my journals too 😅

Cheryl Ann Dean I hope she does the tutorial. Keep our 🤞 crossed 😊
Oh my god. Yes. Kath and Kim, hilarious. So good. I resonate in that way as well. No wonder I love your videos so much!
I re-watch my favorite Kath & Kim episodes all the time. Which episodes are my favorites? All. Of. Them. 😂😆😂😆
I am Aussie and so very impressed that an American gets Kath & Kim ... ♥️

We have 5 grandkids, so I write about them. I also have 3 cats, a dog, and 4 horses, and a garden, so I write about all that!
Great journal !!!!Really love it!!!❤
Lovely journal, TFS.

@@MelanieSullivan I agree. More observing, less squishing, although I don't allow grasshoppers in my garden or tomato worms.
This is so impressive! When do you find the time to journal? I'd fill that book in a year if I'm lucky!

When you make your 2" spine for the little encyclopedia, what do you use for the spine? Chipboard?
I had been using a heavy chipboard that was the same thickness as the covers, but I ran out of it. Now I’m experimenting with old board game boards. They’re really rigid!
@@MelanieSullivan What a great idea!!!
What size is your book again?
😁💜👍🏻

I’m in Fort Worth, Tammie. Thank you for all your sweet comments!
Omg I also live in the Fort Worth area! I just found your channel. First junk journalers I’ve come across from my area!
What's the secret to avoiding the "alligator mouth"?
Phuong D a 3 inch spine 😂🤣😂
Nicole is right, Phuong. The larger the spine, the more space you’ll have. There’s really no other way to avoid it if your pages get thicker than your spine.
I LOVE making journals, but i dont know what to journal about at all, my life is just plain and boring..
