The best karateka to have ever fought in MMA. I'm thankful to guys like him, Michael Page, Gunnar Nelson and a host of others who brought some much needed variety to the game.
@@zdendabreh To my knowledge, yes. Although I named the other guys because they started expertly implementing the bladed, fencer-like stance I like to watch. Edit: Gerard Gordeau was probably the first karateka in the UFC, but the others found more consistent success.
It’s crazy how much Joe repeats himself from podcast to podcast. He must talk about the calf kick mentioning Benson Henderson in nearly every MMA show - Masvidal, Edwards, Poirer, Thompson…
Try having completely unique conversations about the same topic with fighters in the same promotion, while being entertaining enough to maintain millions of monthly viewers for hours each episode
Instead of getting upset about it, maybe take it as a sign to go watch Benson's fights and see why he keeps getting mentioned. Joe treats fights like good music. He watches them multiple times. You don't memorize all the words to a song after listening to it once. Maybe if you rewatched his fights instead of relying on your memory from the past, you will be reminded of why he gets so much praise from Joe. That's a huge honor to be regarded so highly by a man who understands fighting more than most people will ever truly appreciate. That's like someone saying your favorite song shouldn't be your favorite just because they don't understand the lyrics as deeply as you do
I’m not sure that this is good for the TH-cam algorithms. This video has no views. I already saw this but clicked to make sure it was the same interview. I’m shocked the views are so low though and that TH-cam brought it to me.

Yeah because the most successful podcast in the world is worried about clicks
@@toemasmeems wouldn’t they be? They pay the man a lot of money for these clicks.
