      Sabyasachi De
      🐟 07. GOD (OR NOT):
There has never been, nor will there ever be, even the SLIGHTEST shred of evidence for the existence of the Godhead, that is, a Supreme Person or Deity.‬ The English word "person" literally means "for sound", originating from the Latin/Greek "persona/prósōpa", referring to the masks worn by actors in ancient European theatrical plays, which featured a mouth hole to enable the actors to speak through. Theists, by definition, believe that there is a Supreme Deity which incorporates anthropomorphic characteristics such as corporeal form (even if that form is a "spiritual" body, whatever that may connote), with a face (hence the term "person") and certain personality traits such as unique preferences and aversions. Simple logic dictates that the Ultimate Reality transcends all concepts, including personality and even impersonality. However, only an excruciatingly minute number of humans have ever grasped this complete realization and understanding.
There are at least FOUR reasons why many persons are convinced of the existence of a Supreme Personal God:
      1. Because it is natural for any sensible person to believe that humans may not be the pinnacle of existence, and that there must be a higher/ultimate power in existence (an intelligent designer). However, because they cannot conceive of this designer being non-personal, they automatically suspect it must be a man (God) or a woman (The Goddess) with personal attributes. One who is truly awakened and/or enlightened understands that the Universal Self is the creator of all experiences and that he IS that ("tat tvam asi", in Sanskrit).
      2. Because they have experienced some kind of mystical phenomenon or miracle, which they mistakenly attribute to "God's grace", but which can be more logically explained by another means. As explained, all such phenomena are produced by the TRUE Self of all selves.
      3. Because they may have witnessed the deeds or read the words of an individual who seems to be a perfect person - in other words an incarnation of the Divine Principle (“Avatāra”, in Sanskrit). To be sure, such persons do exist, but that does not necessarily prove that the Supreme Truth is PERSONAL. An Avatar is a man who was born fully enlightened, with all noble qualities, but not necessarily perfect in every possible way. For example, very few (if any) of the recognized Avatars in human history taught or practiced veganism.
      4. Because they have been CONDITIONED by their family, society and/or religious organization over many years or decades. Unfortunately, we humans are very gullible. Due to low intelligence and lack of critical analysis, the typical person believes almost anything they read or hear from virtually any source. During a visit to one's local place of worship on any given weekend, one will notice a congregation of sheepish individuals nodding in agreement with practically every nonsensical, inane word spouted by their deluded so-called "priest", imam, mullah, rabbi, guru, monk, or preacher. Even the current World Teacher, despite his genius intellect, was once a thoroughly-indoctrinated religious fundamentalist, before he awoke to a definitive understanding of life.
Having stated the above, the worship of the Personal Deity ("bhakti yoga", in Sanskrit), is a legitimate spiritual path for the masses. However, the most ACCURATE understanding is monistic or non-dual ("advaita", in Sanskrit). If one wishes to be even more pedantic, the ultimate understanding is beyond even the concept of nonduality, as the great South Indian sage, Śri Ramana Maharishi, once so rightly proclaimed.
As an aside, it seems that practically every religious organization, particularly those originating in Bhārata (India), claims to have been founded by an Avatar, but that’s simply wishful thinking on the part of their congregations. Only a great sage or world teacher can POSSIBLY recognize an enlightened being, what to speak of an Incarnation of the Divine. The typical spiritual aspirant, even one who may seem to be a highly-exalted practitioner, has very little idea of what constitutes actual holiness. Frankly speaking, many famous (infamous?) religious leaders were some of the most vile and contemptible characters in human history, particularly in this Epoch of Darkness ("Kali Yuga", in Sanskrit).

Right on! Life would be boring without mysteries. The ultimate mystery of existence is how an apparent "object" (a ripple in the Ocean of Pure Consciousness), and have a dual dynamic of 1. eternally changing on the "ripple" level, and simultaneously Absolutely unchanging on the level of the Transcendental Absolute. Through mutual inclusion, the apparent "two" are One. The question "how" is the mysterious part, but answered simply (and not to everybody's satisfcation), by the "IS-ness" part. That's the way it IS.

I continue to learn so much listening to Swami Sarvapriyananada. I am listing to this lecture and he mentions thoughts, and it hit me and floored me:
Who is thinking these thoughts right now? It’s not the brain because how can the brain think thoughts to itself? Thoughts created in the brain pop up in your mind like a movie right? But who’s watching the movie!!! It can’t be the projector! The projector doesn’t watch the movie.
OK, then I thought, well maybe thoughts are just signals from your and from the brain, but then I thought… well who is your brain signaling these signals to? The brain can’t send the signal to itself, because the brain, has to send the signal, but it has to send the signal to somewhere!? To someone. TO ME, so I know what’s going on in the environment. The brain, the body is just a tool. 😮‍💨😮‍💨🤯

In dualism, there is always the power of the opposite.
The opposite of belief is doubt. And so, much energy is wasted fending off doubt, and keeping to belief.
Find out what is true. Test it. And it becomes you. Inseparable from you. And ultimately, eventually unshakable.

    Namaste
The Rig Veda has 10,552 mantras grouped into 1028 suktas or hymns each having roughly ten mantras.
The suktas are further grouped into 10 mandalas.
Rig veda has only Rik mantras which have a metrical structure. Of these 2456 mantras are in the well known Gayatri meter ( The popular Gayatri mantra is also in this meter).
As per Shri Aurobindo Ghosh , Rik is the mantra of divine consciousness. Its brings its light of revelation.
There are around 400 rishis in the rig veda of whom atleast 25 are women.
The Yajur Veda primarily consists of Yajus mantras which are rhythmic phrases not set to any particular meter ( Unlike Rig Veda)
The popular Taittiriya Samhita of Krishna Yajur Veda has around 4773 mantras , of which around 2/3 rd are yajus mantras ( rest are Riks)
The Yajur Veda deals with Yajna or rituals to appease devatas
The Sama Veda consists of Riks with the added dimension of music.
The Atharva veda has 5987 mantras grouped into 730 suktas and 20 Kandas ( Chapters)
Most of the mantras were revealed to the lineage of Rishis Atharva and Angirasa.
It contains knowledge of healing, construction (Vastu) and societal conduct amongst others
    Thanks.

I think the problem isn't with rationality but with the behaviorism which underlies our view of the physical. Sure one way to see the world is as these particles, bouncing around and following mathematical laws, but as a way to understand ourselves its problematic because it has no way to define relevance. Why is one particle more relevant than another, and if we don't choose to define relevance our model extends to every atom in the universe. If we start instead from an equally rational perspective, but instead of being concerned with the momentum of particles, consider the nature of navigational systems. First we can notice this applies to both living and non-living systems. The defining feature of a navigational system is its decision process. For example the simplest navigation system we might consider is a thermostat. The decision process is very simple, and goes something like this "is it warm enough, if yes do nothing, if no warm up". The brain is the navigational system for the human body, but we are neither the brain nor the body, what we are is the decision process. Put in the language of the first person, I have a body, I have a brain, but I am the navigator / decision process. So memory, attention, thoughts, states of mind, all form part of that decision process. Both the physical and introspection fit naturally into context, in once complete picture. This is entirely congruent with what you actually experience, and also consistent with the laws of physics. The mistake is to think I am the body, or I am the brain, which is a natural tendency from a behaviorist perspective, because it excludes introspection as an axiomatic assumption of the model, instead calling only that which is physical 'real'.

If you are a seeker... Must learn this path of accomplishment.
In which we have to know our previous birth before taking birth again. And this previous birth journey starts from the void of the body and continues till the soul becomes void.To bring the body and soul to the void state... first of all one part of the body has to be brought to the void state..The name of that organ is the heart (or may say the mind) ... because the heart acts as a bridge between the body and the soul ...That's why in all religions spirituality begins from the heart. And then it is up to the will of the Guru(Mentor or Murshid ) whether he works first on the body of the seeker or on his soul...If you want to know the ultimate truth then...it is necessary to be void all of these 3 things 1.body 2.heart 3.soul...
      1. Body... is the symbol of Brahma ji... 2. Heart... is the symbol of Vishnu ji... 3. Soul... is the symbol of Shiva ji...
This is the reason that... Vishnu ji is always situated between Brahma ji and Shiva ji...And Vishnu ji is the operator of the world... just as the heart is the operator of the body...And when it is said that Vishnu meditates on Shiva and Shiva meditates on Vishnu, it means that...The heart needs the help of the soul to function...The soul needs the heart to reach the body.
Meaning of OmTat Sat is that Only 🕉 is the truth... And it is the generating point of the truth... And this is the basic principle of religion... This is the point from which the creation of the world began... From where ultimate Peace is generated... At this point there is only one form of religion... That is self-peace or internal peace... Here the 3 elements 1. Shiva tattva ... 2.Vishnu tattva... 3. Brahma tattva ...that govern the universe merge into one form and establish the ultimate truth. No Sadhak can get over this ultimate truth until the sadhak makes these three elements into one form...And merges himself into the peace of formless 🕉 and becomes formless himself. Only then the seeker will get complete self-peace.Otherwise he will remain divided among the cults and will not be able to attain complete peace.
And the basic principle of each religion is to know the initial point of peace from which creation of the universe began... From where complete peace is created... At this point there is only one form of religion... that is self-peace...In Hinduism... This point is known as 🕉... And in Islam this point is known as Toheed (point of "kun faya kun" )... At this point there is only one form of religion remain... That is self-peace or internal peace..

Very true, but unfortunately most people today are caged under fanatic sectarianism - deeply identified with a particular sect or religion (usually the one they are born into). To truly understand the nature of Self (Atman) one has to transcend all mind-driven identities including concepts such as I, me, my and my particular religion or ism. The world we experience through the veiling power of God (Maya) is an experience of duality (I vs another) and within this dualistic (dream) experience there is always a battle between polarities, ideologies, religions, worldviews, teachers, messengers, philosophies etc. Even among Hindus you see some ignorant people fighting between Dvaita and Advaita or Shaivism and Vaishnavism or Vedanta and Sankya (not realising that they are all different ways of relating to the same Absolute truth). That each path is needed for different individuals in their unique journey to Self-realisation.
When the great sage Sri Ramana Maharshi was asked whether he was an Advaitin or a Shaivite, he said I approve of all paths and all spiritual doctrines (teachings) because he noted that as individuals, each person requires different ways of relating to the highest Truth because no two people possess the same level of understanding or the same capacities of intelligence or the same level of maturity. The highest truth is subtle and non-conceptual (beyond words, doctrines and ideas) and therefore the mind cannot touch it, define it or expand on it (although it tries for the sake of the world). The mind can at best "attempt" to put concepts and words around the ineffable for the purpose of communication or transmission. But in its effort to clarify all it does is breed further divisions in human societies. This is why Ramana said the greatest language is mauna (silence) and the highest truth (God) can only be understood in the state of Samadhi (when the mind has attained perfect silence and tranquility and has merged with the Absolute Consciousness). At the highest level of non-duality, there is nothing but the Self (Pure Consciousness). The Self is All (no trace of individuality and conflict). But we humans are stuck fighting over our petty identities and force God to fit into our finite schemes and schisms.

To non faith based religion or realisation system such as yoga and Advaita Vedanta, our lovely Swamy may perhaps also add Lao Tsu’s (Laozi) Taoism which points to the Way or laws of universe and nature, and how life interacts. The Way cannnot be spoken and has no name or label. That which can be spoken is not the Way. Anything that bears a name is not the Way. Another way of presenting Advaita Vedanta.

His talk is really my experience of Christianity as a Catholic.
    I am glad to hear.
God brings us to knowledge about us and others and the world.
Though he says other religions are based on believing what we are told.
    That is not true.
Not for me. It might have been. It might still be by some people.
Not the way put forward by Pope Francis. But about the eckyerirnce of a relationship with God.
In fact consciousness is also talked about by Jesuits. As a personal awareness in our relationship with God, others and the world. Maybe others do it too.
Materialistic scientists or philosophers of mind would of course deny any of that and attribute everything to the body.
He surely knows about the faith, the experiences (both common and of relationship with God) and the knowledge of saints.
St Therese of Avila, St Therese of Lisieux, St John of the Cross, St Ignatius of Loyola, St Patrick, St Dominic...

22:15 Islam is not merely God centric. It is fundamentally concentric with both self and God sharing the same centre. The centre is One and both the God with attributes (which hindus call saguna) and the material cosmos originate and derive their existence from that One centre which is beyond attributes (nirguna in the hindu sense). So Islam does not seperate being God centric and self centric the proof of which is given below:
    1) The Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, said "He who knows his self knows his Lord".
    2) Hazrat Imam Ali (a.s.) is quoted as saying, "I wonder how a person who ignores himself can know his Lord".
For anyone looking for more clarity into this matter, I would suggest reading about and exploring Islamic neoplatonism and the concept of Wahdat al-Wujud (Unity of Existence) expounded by famous sufis like Ibn Arabi.

I am the dust on the path of Muhammad, the Chosen one.
If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings,
I am quit of him and outraged by these words."
"The way of God's Messenger is the way of Love. We are the children of Love. Love is our mother"
"The Light of Muhammad has become a thousand branches (of knowledge), a thousand, so that both this world and the next have been seized from end to end. If Muhammad rips the veil open from a single such branch, thousands of monks and priests will tear the string of false belief from around their waists."
"The Light of Muhammad does not abandon a Zoroastrian or Jew in the world. May the shade of his good fortune shine upon everyone! He brings all of those who are led astray into the Way out of the desert."
"Flee to God's Qur'an, take refuge in it
there with the spirits of the prophets merge.
The Book conveys the prophets' circumstances
those fish of the pure sea of Majesty."
"I "sewed" my two eyes shut from [desires for] this world and the next - this I learned from Muhammad."
"This is the book of the Masnavi, and it is the roots of the roots of the roots of the (Islamic) Religion and it is the Explainer of the Qur'ân."

The Sanskrit word for Knowing has unfortunately been translated ubiquitously as “knowledge”. Which allows completely incorrect views as the speaker here is expressing. Advaita is a path to self-knowing, ie real-time and essentially continuous knowing of your soul, or Self, AS self. It is knowing self as Consciousness. That’s the stated first and primary goal. Then it is easy to know self as the unmanifest parabrahman from there. So, yes it is about mystical experience and then mystical transformation, not about understanding or knowledge.

You are for sure thoroughly confused. What is needed from ignorance to knowledge is not properly explained by the NEO-VEDANTISTS. Do you know Upanishads dint speak about Upanishads? It spoke about something else...then we also have to focus on that something else rather than following Upanishads and infact the aim of Upanisdhad is to make us think on that something else without which non of the upanishads could have been written by our Rishis. Without you mastering that something else, you will not be able to understand vedanta nor you will be able to explain it...only stories will remain...

If you do not have faith in the existence of God, how do you go ahead with identity with God? By saying that all the theistic religions have faith in God, and by drawing a contrast with them, he is making a declaration that Advaita is not theistic in nature - meaning it does not believe in the existence of God. Then right away he reels into self-contradiction that Advaita claims identity between every individual self and God. If all the theistic religions have faith in one thing - “God exists”, Advaita has faith in two things - “God exists and each of us is God”. Does he think that he can escape the sharp criticism of Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Higgins, Daniel Dennette, Dan Dennis, et al? They will have double feast with Advaita - blast their faith in God and much worse their faith in identity with All-pervading God. Vedanta has been perverted by Advaita. It is a rash statement that theistic religions do not do self-inquiry.

Who is the observer in quantum mechanics ?? Who is the one whose presence as a witness, physically changes the outcome of the quantum experiment?? There is only One, the first person experience potential - The Presence. Without it(Him) there is nobody home. Formed and named - acting, it becomes an entity, a10000 things, the whole universe - the Heavens and the Earth. It is the Atman, the Spirit of I am-ness, the Holly Spirit of GOD's presence, the unnamed servant of the Bible. His expression - the thing - logos, was at the beginning and "He" was the beginning. Formed as Brahma - Indra -Adonai. The Presence and will, as directed thermal energy, fire and all the forces. To Moses He literally said: my name is: "I am the One who Is" - "I am the I am-ness". People don't know but whole Vedantic idea of GOD is passed on into the Bible, from Creation in the Old testament to the end, - at the new heaven and the new earth. I even believe that the name Abraham came out of, or was misread from the - "ahambrahm ha smi" (forgive me for my spelling, but you get the idea) Abram experienced moksha he was called by GOD to know only one GOD of The All. He came from the city of Ur - meaning light.
The bridge between the Upanishad and the Bible is The Divine Pymander A.K.A Corpus Hermeticum by Hermes Mercurius Trismagistas translated in 1650 in London. Oh you're going to love it. This is deliberately a little known book made out of 17 books - skip the book no.1 and read (listen to) it last. Then go read (listen to) the Upanishads once again. Then you'll see it all came from the same Idea of Brahman, from the ancients of the ancients - the once who wrote the individual Upanishads before the time of religion.
Maybe it was during dva-para yuga... :)
It's literally said the same in my native Serbian - "Dva Para" - Two Pairs; because of throwing dices with two pairs. Also: "treća", and "četvrta" the fourth yuga a.k.a.(kali); (ć=tj and č=ch) the word for the house is "kuća" and the box is "kutija". "Yama" is the word for a pit, or the dark deep cave. "Tat Tvam Asi" = "To Ti Jesi" or "Taj(that one) Ti Jesi" and "Tv" prefix we have in "Tvoj" = Yours. "I am" = "Ja sam".
The word for "The Mind" is "Um", it came from lady "Uma" - the divine wisdom. Because she was the one who pointed to all major gods that Brahman was the spirit supreme by whom they attained victory, and because only by the mind can Brahman be realized... Or may be Um has something to do with the Om.. (aum__). ;)
They say that today Serbian has even more common words with Bengali than with Sanskrit, from which all these languages derived.

India ruled entire planet for more than forty thousand years. History written by modern historians is big lie. Ancestors of every human being in this world is a hindu. Europe lost its pagan hindu history. Abraham comes from brahma, his wife Sara was goddess saraswati. Adam lifted from Atman and eve lifted from jeeva. They are not mortals. Very nice to hear that the Indian thought had spread far and wide before the dark ages when Christianity and Islam tried to stymie free thinking. Today it looks like these thoughts especially advaita is again spreading to lands far and distant and spreading the word of oneness.

The enquiry is also present in those. Through Theology and prayer. God is experienced in a relationship with God.

What would be the point of blindly following what other people tell you to believe?
With no connection to your own experience?
It might have been the case or still be the case for some.
But certainly in Catholicism, the religion where I relate to God in prayer, the emphasis is on the personal.ebcounter with God through Jesus Christ.

@Manohar Gajananan I agree but shouldn't the recipient be prepared first before they actually learn it. Else what is happening now is the same knowledge is being twisted and spread doing more harm than good. I myself have struggled was a atheist till one day the fog started to clear i.e last week after that Armin Navabi tweet. Had these twisted facts not served to me probably i would have seen the truth much earlier and with less pain.
I still strongly suggest that brahm gyaan should not be distributed like prasad

@@siddhartht5491 I agree with you - even in the conversation between Yama and Nachiketa, Yama hesitated (initially) to share the knowledge of Brahma Vidya. Yama tried to test the kid to see if he was "fit" and "ready" to receive such knowledge (i.e. paravidya). I agree that knowledge such as this, if one is not ready for it, can do more harm than good. A lot of scriptures within Hinduism start by saying that undeserving ones (people with low character or intelligence) should not be taught such knowledge.
But I think we are in a precarious situation today where Hinduism (Sanathan Dharma) is often misrepresented in popular culture as mere "ritual worship, murti-worship, polytheism, Brahmanism and a religion devoid of philosophical teachings" - these pseudo definitions are imposed on Sanathan Dharma and are promoted by outsiders who are aided by some ignorant insiders (including pseudo-seculars and deracinated Hindus).
We live in a strange time where those who shout loudest set the narrative for the world and get to define an entire religion despite its variety and antiquity. I heard a Hindu (leftist) girl say your gurus of old didn't teach the masses (based on so-called discrimination) and that is why they (the masses) chose to leave your religion and adopt Mleecha dharma during the time of the colonisers. So unfortunately we are in a situation today where the true meaning of Vedanta and Atma Vidya has to be taught in an open way so it reaches more people (some genuine ones may benefit from it while some not so deserving ones will twist it or spout venom against it), That can't be helped.
My journey is in some ways closer to yours because I went through a period of atheism and disbelief in my early youth before I found my guru in Sri Ramana Maharshi - who gave me the insight into Advaita Vedanta and how to live it. Without teachers like him I would be lost and I chanced upon teachers like him in my time of distress and searching. So I do appreciate the efforts of these Ramakrishna monks to try and spread the teachings of Vedanta and of our rishis even if it means there will be some people who will distort those teachings or not appreciate it. It is a tricky situation (sort of catch-22) because if such knowledge is kept hidden then the forces that work against Dharma would win (because they are the loudest today and they get to set the narrative). I have seen some poor Hindus getting converted or misled into other adharmic paths because they had no access to correct knowledge (Vedanta) in their time of need (something that I had to struggle with as well in my youth).

21:00 Sarvapriyananda needs to read about how every thing he wondered can be traced back to brain and can be activated by mere stimulation of brain without active approval of subject. That will negate whole concept of soul. Also if you make changes in part of brain your behavior and personality changes. These western philosophers are not just being dumb and if you know more please please please don't hesitate to raise your hand and contribute in the class. That is what classrooms are for.
It's high time Indian mystic define what do they mean by enlightened and what process would help achieve that state for betterment of the world. Science can help them as and they can help science to impart this knowledge ( ??!) To society. There is no point in saying west doesn't understand what we say.

Watch double slit quantum experiment since you look at everything through outdated Newtonian reductive science. Quantum experiment validates the core vedic metaphysics Sankhya which combines Advaitha (shiva/soul/non dual) and Dvaitha (shakthi/intelligent energy/dual). Sankhya says without the immanent observer (shiva or soul or athma or the consciousness) the observed (world/universe/shakthi/dual) cannot be perceived in its current form. In other words, perpetual duality cycles of intelligent energy or shakthi are sustained/mediated by the formless divine which is omnipresent (it means both immanent and transcendent). It also means without the immanent divine or soul, birth/decay duality cycle (reincarnation cycle) cannot happen. It means your body made of intelligent energy is aging or changing from one form to another only because of the presence of immanent and conscious divine or soul. eg of duality cycles are manifestation/concealment cycle of the universe, wave/particle, summer/winter, day/night, positive/negative, freezing/melting, man/woman, birth/decay etc

I don't think you understand what he's saying. He says we all have the experiences of waking, dreaming and deep sleep. Therefore, through reasoning alone, it is clear that who we really are is not our body, mind, intellect but something else. And that understanding is what puts you on the spiritual path to realize who you are. That requires giving up your worldly pursuits - your desires, neverending thoughts, selfishness etc etc. i.e., freeing yourself from your ego.

Every human being is fashioned after His image . In His Nirguna existence He was isha shakti and when took tabernacle of clay (body ) He became Ishvara , husband of brides ( devotees ) . Sanatam dharma ( everlasting gospel) is all about this perfect and almighty Guru . Guru Gita is testifying about him. The name of Jesus/ ees is in many Hindu names, such as Ramesh, Umesh, Naresh, Satish and so forth. He is cause of all . The Spirit (Atman ) bears witness of all truth. Why would He says , I am the Truth, the Light and Life.

Rama Krishnan God can possess all attributes in righteousness and perfection. If God can do anything and everything , then why not Virgin birth ? Anyway, let me dispel your ignorance. You probably only studied false Christianity and never came in touch with the truth. We believe that Father of Jesus is God of the all things, God of all spirits. God is eternal and immortal and Mary being earthly means she was mortal. Jesus needed two powers; power to die and power to immortalised. He had to go through death to defeat and overcome death. This is the Amurit or Immortality ( औषधि ) prepared for you and me, we mortals couldn’t do ourselves. Jesus Christ is Yogi of yogis, who overcame everything, paapdosa, rogadosa , viyogdosa (separation from God) .
By simply, giving out philosophical explanations of Vedanta cannot bring Moksha or Salvation to the entire human family. Ahuti of a pure being was crucial. That’s why there’s an element of sacrifice ( यज्ञ ) in most religions.
Because you have not in your possession the gift of the Spirit like I have , you cannot know the truth of all things. A saint has said, “ by the power of the Holy Ghost , ye may know the truth of all things “ . There are so many scholars and academics sitting in many sects who are very good at philosophical explanations . Without the perfect Guru, even Jesus Christ are void of truth. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of truth. Mark my word, one day you will face the judgment seat or throne of Christ Jesus, to be judged. Retain this in your memory .
