    As a Monroe resident, and a previous paranormal investigator. I would say with Monroe is pretty active. Specially the battlefield, Monroe is a hot bed. I have done tons of investigations. Such as the Battlefield, The potawatomi burial in Dundee, the Sawyer house. A real hotspot for ghost is Dorch Library. Just to name a few..

    Thank you for this video neighbor 🙂
    I'm also in frenchtown. Sandy creek runs through my property. I'm in the old Reinhardt house, it is very active. I've heard what sounded like the beat of a one man drum.. I have recordings, pictures. My husband and one of my friends have witnessed it. We could only date our house back to 1890. I have visited the historical society for more information. Thanks again for your video. Its very informative 👌

      Oh wow! I'm not sure of the exact location of the original Sandy Creek settlement that was destroyed after the first battle, but maybe your close to it? 1890 is old for a house in the US midwest, but depending there might have been people there as early as 1780

    I worked at the Subway in downtown Monroe, and I was not the only employee who heard things when working in the store alone

    I am new to Monroe (moved here 3 years ago) & I’ve had experiences since I’ve come to the county. I have a hard time finding much information other than the normal historical documents I’ve read online; if you have anything interesting on Pointe aux Peaux farms I’d love to hear about it. I live in an old cottage on the lake front & things have been interesting to say the least..

      I grew up over at Stoney Point Peninsula and would ride my bike over there to visit friends! The beaches in general are interesting because they started off as summer homes for people living in Detroit and Toledo. And there was an amusement park of sorts on Brest Bay. It had pier that stuck out into the bay and you can see remnants today. I remember some sort of shady business going on with the owner, but its been a bit since I read about it. I can't speak to your particular house, but I do know that museum downtown can usually help do things like track down documents on previous owners.

      I remember it as farmland in the 1950s. You can check with the county for early structures and the Monroe museum. I used to hunt on the creek that runs through the property 65 years ago..

    I live in a house on the location where Carl's candy Beach Bar and Restaurant was located. We have had some very strange things happen here. I've been to the Historical Museum to try to find some information on the old bar which burned down, but was unable to find anything. If anybody has any information on it I sure would like to hear it.

    Hell is the German word for light. The original European settlers in the Hell Michigan area were from Germany. They named the area Hell after the river/ creek being light. Not sure if it was because the color of the river looked light, due to the sand in it being very pale. Or if it's flow was light?

    I live like two streets behind the battlefield, our house is 103 years old. We have too many encounters to count.. I’ve currently been saging our home because my child is spooked so bad by it😕I’ve always said this house is haunted. But maybe it’s just the land around it!🤔

    If I was still in the paranormal field I would love for you to join. You are very informative and you know your history. Lol... I want to say 2009 my and my buddy co founder was just starting out in the paranormal. We went to the battlefield, and we got alot of stuff. We mostly relied on E.V.P. We dont believe in the orbs, way to many thing can cause an orb. While we was at the battlefield I asked if there was any union or Confederate soldiers here.? I got a reply back, so clear. It said " confederate". We also captured, what sounds like cannons shooting off, war chants, yelling and screaming and people crying. Me and my co-founder would go every day. One night I opened my self up and I got what is called under oppression , kind alike a possession. I had this wired vision and I was sad, I was crying. I snapped out of it, but it was amazing. Monroe news cought wind of it and did an article on my group.
    One thing that you didn't mention about Monroe is we have under ground tunnels that run through downtown Monroe, such places as Mcgeadys Town pub. These tunnels was to help the slaves, I believe Harriet Tubman used these same tunnel's. The tunnels also helped with the prohibition..
    Like I said your very informative, and thank you. Do you have an email, I would love to get in touch with you about a project I've been wanting to work on.
    Thank you

      I think I remember that article. Like I said in the video, I feel like I barely scratched the surface. The figure on Dixie is the only time I've ever seen a ghost, but have had plenty of other experiences around town. I am looking to do some follow up videos, so feel free to contact me at admin@thisenchantedhouse.com

    Theres nothing even haunted about monroe, so I'm not sure why people call it haunted. I camped at dog lady island for many days and nothing remotely weird happened

    • @ThisEnchantedHouse
      @ThisEnchantedHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's why I try to concentrate on the history in the video. With the prohibition gangs and the River Raisin Massacre, Monroe has a surprisingly violent history. Ghost stories tend to crop up around places with great tragedy. As for Dog Lady island, that's a whole other can of worms and hopefully the topic of an upcoming video.
