@justme8592 As far as I know, yes it is true. Something of an Urban legend. The BBC either didn't record programmes back then, or destroyed a lot of them, so no evidence other than hearsay. There is another version that attributes it to a presenter called Frank Bough. Search Johnny Craddock Donuts on Google. It is also possible that for my generation, our parents and grandparents made this up.
