    Just a tip, leave them totally uncovered once in the pan to really get the sauce sticky and smokey. That's the traditional way, but of course do whatever you like and don't let me tell you what to do!

    I've been using smoke daddy's charcoal pellets for a while now. I like mixing them with pit boss competition pellets. 2 parts pit boss comp pellets to 1 part charcoal pellets.

    I just might have to give this a try. The poor man's burnt ends, that is. I don't have a pellet grill. Looks GUUD!

      The Grill Dome Will rock the chuck roast! We made sandwiches with them...brioche buns and pickles!

    Looks good, will have to give this a try. I like those charcoal pellets and might try them again mixing 50/50 with competition blend but I am also just fine with 100% charcoal pellets.

    I wouldn't expect any smoke flavor from just using a charcoal pellet because it's just supposed to provide a charcoal flavor

    • @SmokedMidwestBBQ
      @SmokedMidwestBBQ  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was expecting some ‘charcoal’ grill flavor. I didn’t get much, but I did recently mix my regular wood pellets with the charcoal ones and really liked the results.

      Smoked Midwest BBQ, what brand/name wood pellets do you use and where do you purchase them? Are they all wood only?

    • @SmokedMidwestBBQ
      @SmokedMidwestBBQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get mine from BBQ Island in Phoenix, AZ...I use their house brand, but they are made by Lumberjack. They are the best I’ve tried. 100% real wood that’s indicated on the package. If it says Hickory they are hickory not just hardwood flavored with hickory oil.

    Ahh, I think I would have preferred leaving most of the all the seasoning off and barbeque sauce off for a real taste test. Little Salt + Black Pepper would be all I would have put on it.

      If I can’t taste the charcoal flavor with my normal process of making the burnt ends, what’s the point of the charcoal pellets?

  • @1micYT
    @1micYT 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You didn't taste the meat to see if the charcoal flavor was in there before the sauce was added!

    • @SmokedMidwestBBQ
      @SmokedMidwestBBQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I can’t taste the charcoal flavor in the end result, what’s the point of using the pellets? I ended up using the rest of the bag on other cooks mixed with my regular pellets and they did add some additional flavor. They are just ‘ok’....that’s is my opinion.

    • @1micYT
      @1micYT 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SmokedMidwestBBQ I guess. Sauce is so overpowering, so seems you'd do the test right out of the pit. Oh well! I just ordered 3 bags from Walmart. Will give it a shot. Thx!

    I didn't notice any juice while you cut it into chunks, no juice in the pan to help bind that extra seasoning.... you should have let it rest
