  • This is the video filmed during our visit to Hilal Zil cymbal foundry at Habibler, Istanbul, during early December 2,013, at that time producers of brand name Crescent Cymbals, but since mid 2,014 back to the production of IMPRESSION CYMBALS.
We would like to share with everyone the magic of the ancient processes carried out by such craftsmen for producing these very valuable cymbals. Their skills and hard work is out of doubt.
Video and stills were shooted with 2 x Canon D60 cameras and edited with Apple iMovie software.
    Thanks for watching.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video, thank you! Lovely to see cymbals being made by hand and with such a beautiful end result.

You guys certainly are perfectionists! this is the you are achieving a high glassy crispness sound that is best! better than that warm trash can lid sound like Bosphorus. Hell those sound like Paiste.

Hilal Zil was named this way before Crescent Cymbals was launched by M.V. for the USA and then for other World markets. After the relationship finished and the production was moved to Meductic, Canada, the foundry owners saw no reason for changing their name for present production of Impression Cymbals.

Hilal is no longer associated with Crescent, and hasn't been for quite some time. They should change the name of their company because Hilal Zil means Crescent Cymbals in English. Please remove this video.
