Good job..I did a very similar build in my 19 soul...I did not have the raised bed but that'll probably change..as far as something softer to sleep on,I have a self inflating sleep pad that works well for me..thanks for the video
Thank you so so SO much for this!! I bought my Kia Soul a few weeks ago specifically because I liked the idea of camping in it. I was looking around for a little while to possibly pull a trailer, but when the cost was too high or the tear it had on my car looked like it would be too dangerous, I went looking again. After watching this, I took out my storage in the trunk to see how it played out, and holy CRAP theres so much sitting space above my head! I have neck issues pretty bad so anywhere I couldnt sit up straight would be a problem. It didnt even occur to me to take out the secret storage, since it seemed like such a good idea! Seeing your set up though, I'm convinced thats the way to go. Make storage elsewhere! Aaaahhhh I love your video so much, thank you for the inspiration!
The struggle is real 🥴. Thanks for posting a true to life experience of building something which takes a little bit longer and is a little bit harder than what is shown on most other video's. Xx
I'm thinking about doing the same thing but at another level. I'll be getting rid of the front passenger seat and all of the back looked you did. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are amazing, I admire your determination, your personality enlightens me & you make me laugh. I have a 2016 Kia Soul & will do likewise, hopefully I would'nt have to wait too long. Be safe 👍.
I was thinking of same kinna idea..did it in a smart car..but am up grading to a soul..you kinna skipped over the front passenger seat??? Does it fold down? Or..??? Lookin forward to yurr reply.. Rhonda
Hey Rhonda! The front passenger seat is reclined back so that the bed fits on top of it. It's a PAIN to try to remove the passenger seat, and it doesn't fold all the way forward, so this was the best way I could get it out of the way. Hope this helps!
Sorry, I wish I had the exact dimensions still! It was a LOT of measuring. But it would vary even with different Kia Soul years. I highly recommend using cardboard to make a model first :) Best of luck!
If I may suggest, you should cut the support beam at the very rear of the car. It ever so slightly covers the spare tire area. Trust me, when you have to take that spare out, having an opening where that beam used to be will save you SO MUCH grief. Use about 8" of the beam on each side. The plywood should be able to support that open section just fine.
If you need the support, just get some high density foam cushion and place it on the tire itself (or some folded up old t-shirts, etc.) to support that portion of the plywood. It will be WAY easier to move than that beam. lol. btw, time index 8:09
Thank you for not being an airhead. I enjoyed your commentary. Just the right touch of personality and lots of intelligence. Didn’t annoy me in other words. Great music! Thanks!
Yes, but it's tough to communicate! Because it's such an odd shape, it took lots of measuring and re-measuring to create the floor pattern. The trunk width between the wheels is ~39.5" (but I cut a little thinner to be able to lift it between the side grooves), the widest it gets between the back doors is 48", because that's how wide my plywood was (though the doors are actually about 42" apart). Plywood comes in 4'x8' sheets. If you're making one yourself, you'll need to create your own pattern with cardboard and measure your own. If you want to get fancy, a contour gauge may help get the curves right (though I didn't use one).
Ya need some English lessons Doll...no such word as "afore' in the first few minutes....other than that a cute presentation...quiry what did you do with front right seat? Remove it? fold it down? Replace it? The and Bravo
@Zen Rebel I live in a small town where there never was a shut down or restrictions. Life has carried on like normal the entire last year. People need to turn off the news. I wouldn’t even know there was anything going on if the media was spreading fear like wildfire.
Nah you trippin’. This isn’t a tutorial. It’s her showing how she turned her car into a mini camper van. I’m not sure why y’all hate on people with personalities.
It is very refreshing to see a young woman with an idea and no plans to follow use her brain and figure it out all on her own. You go girl! :)
Good job... And thanks for the laugh.🤣🤣🤣

Fair play to you for doing it all yourself, I have just bought my wife a 2018 Kia Soul ev .our first electric car we love it. 👍🇬🇧
Perfect, all of it. And I'm off with my two puppies.

Oh snap, I'm just so happy I got to help along your way!! 🥰
I have the same setup but kept the back seats- didn’t seem necessary to extract them.
Да все верно можно и без снятия отлично спать
Omg this is genius ! I have a kia soul and was considering trading for a camper van but wow !!!!! I may do this !
It's a nice little compromise! Best of luck
Me too, did u end up doing it?
@@gsxrJOE92 Мы сделали кстати тоже

Wow! Awesome build! Thank you for the video!
Super late response! But thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it ☺️
This was great. I want to do this to my Soul.
It was a fun project! Best of luck!
Good luck on your adventures!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. You rock!!!
Thank you Karen!
This is an interesting bed setup. I hope you found a more comfortable sleeping pad so you can get better sleep and health! Nice work!

I didn't learn much here but I'm stoked on your enthusiasm 😂

This looks like 24th st... Is this Arizona?
Thanks for the video, how long is your bed? I’m 6’2” , just want to know ,if i buy a soul I will have enough space to sleep well
Even professionals have lost fingers. We are all human that makes mistakes no matter how skilled we are.

I’d love to see an update or if you still have it !

i like the design. why didn't you remove the front passenger seat to make it easier to work with
Great question! Passenger seat airbags have a bunch of sensors that I am definitely not equipped to mess with :)
What happened to the mini-camper? Does the story continue? = )
Good video i'm saying it three years later. I hope all is well
Nice! I'm going to do this with my suv to travel the east coast thus fall
Way to go! Do you still have the design plan? I'm trying to do the same thing to my KIA

😂. I laugh so hard because I have done something similar . I’m glad I am not the only one
nice video, I'm looking to build a platform in my soul for camping and organization. So overwhelming though lol.
It's definitely a bit of a process just because the Soul is so small! Best of luck :)
I'm getting ready to do the same to my 2018 kia Soul. What year is your kia and how many inches in length did you get?
Mine is a 2014, one of the upgrade models... plus? exclaim?
Great video
I got a 2013 soul maybe we can park next to each other and camp lol . 😂😂😂😂
Good job well done

Do you have the measurements of the wood for the floor?

Fantastic!!!!! Looks amazing 👏
Thank you!
But the Kia going down the road with the back opened looked grey, not yellow, LOL stay safe!
I think that was her dad’s car
I have a kia in ct

Why did you fall for that shit
The whole thing is planned hun. Live your life while you can. Stop parroting the narrative.
