It’s remarkable that a lightweight fighter concept developed in the early 1950s to be used on proposed small escort carriers has continued to evolve over the years into a family of related designs and into what is now the still-evolving Super Hornet. (T-38, F-5, F-20, YF-17, F/A-18)
Absolutely one of the most beautiful aircraft ever buildt. It got both the looks and the agility. I wish we would still have updated F5`s here in Norway.

The F-5 is a timeless fighter design, keep upgrading the avionics and engines and this could be still useful for the next 20 years. Start a bond drive for F-5 updates. Still cheaper than new.

In the first Time in my Childhood I saw the Northrop F5eTiger in the Dan Cooper Comic books!!! This Fighter is so exciting and elegance!!! But in the Reality, i saw six red white Tigers, Patrouille Swiss and the turkey Stars have the same Aircraft.

That J85-GE-21 engine consumes a lot of fuel. They need a more efficient model that doesn't consumes a large amount of gas to which limits it's combat radius. The fuselage should be made out of composite materials and the engine should have a wet thrust of 7000 lbf or 3175 kgf.

The F-5E is very beautiful, and after being updated by Embraer, F-5EM now, has a few more years of survival in the Brazilian Air Force.
