In the future, humanity wages war with giant humanoid weapons called Titanostriders. for legal reasons no, it's part of the yuuki (courage) series which is totally completely different than the yuusha (brave) series
(basically yes, it's obari doing a brave revival under a different studio)

It's more like someone put Top Gun (For character interactions and the ending theme, especially the ending theme), Battleship (For basic background plot), Brave series and Gravion together.
