    Sounds delicious!! Seems like most of the time if you want to add a particular flavor, mashing with the ingredients is the way to go. Cheers!

    Thank you for brewing this beer without toasting the marshmallows. I've only see other youtubers toast them prior to tossing them in. We needed this video to compare against the others. I've brewed a chocolate stout with toasted marshmallows which was great. But it's good having each different component of this documented on your channel. Nice work!

    • @TheBruSho

      Thanks so much, yeah I was curious to see how much flavor would come through, turns out not much but maybe just need to use more non toasted? Next time!

      @@TheBruSho Between my experience and what I've seen on various brew channels, everybody says toast them and toast A LOT of them. That will give it more of a "camp fire" taste.

    This is one I’m def gonna try and make. Idea for the show: do a seasonal beer for every season: Autumn, Winter, Summer, and Spring. I think having a series on unique seasonal beers would be awesome. Release one for winter, one for autumn, one for spring, and one for summer. I need ideas! Lol

  • @joshuaweezorak7042
    @joshuaweezorak7042 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I forgot the technical name for it but they have this evaporated powdered milk substance that adds a lot of creaminess. I've seen some other beer channels use it for chocolate styled beers.

      Maybe your thinking of lactose? Adds sweetness and body. I wanted to keep this crisp but you could totally use it if you want

  • @TwoandaHalfPintsHomebrew
    @TwoandaHalfPintsHomebrew 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome! One of the first recipes I wrote after moving off kits was a S'mores Stout. I had added a tiny hint of smoked malt, plus to enhance the marshmallow I added vanilla extract. I remember it being good but it was literally our fifth beer we brewed so it probably actually sucked. If we ever revisit that idea I like the idea of it being a schwarzbier over a stout

    • @TheBruSho

    I will have to make a Lager S’mores beer some time. I’ve only done S’more Stouts. I have found to get more of the marshmallow flavors the marshmallows need to be toasted.
    Just out of curiosity why not just use two packs of the dry lager yeast and skip the starter?

    • @TheBruSho
      @TheBruSho  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll have to give roasting a try next time! Ans I just had one pack otherwise you could totally use multiple packs.

    What would you recommend for substitution for dark chocolate to cocoa nibs? I cook professionally and we've got a TON of cocoa nibs we barely use that I sort of want to use in a chocolate stout/dark beer sometime soon.

    • @TheBruSho
      @TheBruSho  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I would start with something like 4oz and if you don’t get enough chocolate flavor your could make a tincture and add at bottling/kegging
