    Hello to the "A Beautiful Mess" audience! I am Tisha. Since Bonnie's effort is to provide a community of selfless love and compassion, I thought it might be beneficial to respond (non-offensively, non-defensively, simply informatively) to some of the comments/questions that have been submitted to her oh-so-cleverly titled "Restoring Order to a Gift Hoarder" TH-cam post. Bonnie once shared this quote with me, which is quite fitting, considering I feel that it exemplifies Bonnie's genuine BEAUTIFUL (non-messy) soul. 💛

    First of all, you're under no obligation to show us vulnerabilities, but in fact your home looks fine. A family lives there, so it's not going to be perfect unless everyone moves out.
    Secondly, you're still gorgeous even with no makeup or your hair done.

    What a lot of clothes! She had a cardigan for each day of year. Well done on sorting them out. Thank you for showing your house as you say, nobody is perfect. What a lot of presents. So nice of her to think of other people. (love the dogs)

    I think it's very smart the way that you organized her gifts so that she knows what box has What type of gift So she doesn't have to go out and spend anymore money.
    And also the fact that she is so willing to donate very beautiful items to help out a charity is absolutely fantastic.

    You lose your whole identity when chronic illness takes hold. I feel for Tisha so much. Recognising your intrinsic value without attaching that value to your ability to work, do things you want to for others and to represent yourself the way you want to is HARD. I still haven’t got there but one day i will. Tisha knowing that you see that value in her as a person, so much so that you literally fought your way back into her life, not to mention the time to help her with her home would enrich her soul to no end. ❤

      Thank you. This has really been beneficial for both of us to have me come over and help her declutter and get things back in order. I love spending time with her. That is my favorite gift is just being around her and enjoying her presence.😊❤️

I have times when I feel alone and worthless, and yet don't know how to properly describe those thoughts/feelings. But you just did! I know I'm not the only one that will benefit by reading your thoughts.     I grew up in an immaculate house. My mother spend most of her time cleaning and tidying. My sister and I were shamed for normal human messes. It was stifling. I am not impressed by perfect instagram houses. They make me scared and I feel sorry for any kids that live there.
    Your house looks like my current house, now that I'm an adult with kids of my own. Clean, lived in, cosy, friendly.
    You do great work helping others. Thankyou.

      Thank you! I definitely love the look of an immaculate, pristine home, but I know that it's just unreasonable. I, in fact, would rather let the mess build up a little bit because I like the more extreme transformations.. haha!❤️

      Great idea. I am over there cleaning with her every Monday, so I was over there today and she actually helped me out with a gift for a friend going through a rough time. It was win-win as we are trying to downsize the amount of gifts she has and I didn't have to go out looking for a specific gift for this person because I'm really bad at knowing what kind of gift to get for different occasions, but she had the perfect thing.

      Yes! It does bring me much joy -- to give to somebody in need AND to rid of extra stuff we don't need anymore. 😊 The feeling you get when you help somebody else is amazing. We all have different struggles in different times of our lives. So knowing my past, and then to help somebody else going through the same thing, feels like you're giving back good vibes to the world. 💜

      Oh, I was thinking the same thing- my house of worship has an elder who has combined unwanted items (in good or new condition) and given them to needy congregants in a way as to be anonymous- the recipients and donors do not know to whom what has been given. This person matches up need pretty well and, instead of yard sales and storing too much, we all have better uncluttered homes, garages and attics. There is no pressure but a great deal of relief in trusting the things to be used by people who need them and use them NOW. -- The suggestion of a needy family getting items curated by an agency accustomed to doing this is also a good one! Bye

    As someone who has had mild Long COVID issues for 18 months, I really appreciate your efforts to help your friend who is struggling. Thanks for helping to raise awareness about this debilitating condition. ❤️ So many cardigans you folded!! Nice job.

      The symptoms seem to be identical to my psoriatic arthritis & fibromyalgia.

    I truly understand and appreciate Tisha's thoughtfulness and generosity. When she is more physically able, and/or when her kids are older, might she consider hands-on volunteering with the less fortunate? Not to give them stuff, but to actually improve their circumstances. It might wean her off buying "cute stuff" to gift. My mom and several other female relatives were also very "gifty" people and so was I for a few years - of course not to this extent. I ended up getting rid of a lot of ungifted gifts on Buy Nothing. There are so many other ways to show appreciation to others than gifting mass-produced things that contribute to clutter. Bring on the hate, I can take it.

      Yes, I would be quite s(t)uffocated by all those gifts. I either give someone a high-quality gift on special occassions and/or try to gift an experience or activity to do together.

      No hate -- I completely appreciate what you are saying! There are many ways to provide love and service to others, as Bonnie is exemplifying right now. But sometimes, a person is not able to do the things he/she would like to do. So they do what they can when they can. 🙂 Because of my ailments, I can't physically offer that appreciation. I also have a family, so I am unable to devote much time to service, either. But, it is very important to me to help others feel loved, noticed, and appreciated for what they do in this world!

    I got tears in. my eyes when you said about your friend being so sick she just didn't recognize herself. I have had similar feelings not from COVID but burnout and depression. The fatigue and migraines are so debilitating. I have a sister-in-law that stepped in for me like you did for your friend and she was like a lifeboat for a sinking ship. I will never ever be able to express how much she means to me for all she has done but three years later, I feel like I just might live. I still get her to clean for me once a week and that is a lifesaver (yes, I insist on paying her also lol). Cheers for all you do for other people.😍 People like you are priceless.

      Thank you for sharing your story. It really seems like an epidemic nowadays to have some kind of chronic depression. I have dealt with it myself and helping other people is how I manage to not get that depressed again. I'm so glad you had your sister-in-law to help you out. I'm thankful to be in a place now that I can help others and hopefully can continue to do that for as long as possible. May you continue to feel on the "up" side of things.🥰🙏

    Perhaps this video appears to be about decluttering and cleaning, but this video is truly about love. Your love, Tisha's love and the doggys' love. And as a result, lots of cleaning and decluttering happened and lots of effort invested, but hey, now you and Tisha don't need to go to the gym! 🥰

      @mariwillalwaysgivethanks Thank you for making that comment, for sharing how you've changed your cleaning habits and how it benefits your life for the better. I've slowly realized that myself, too. We all have different personalities, styles, etc. So that doesn't make one way right and another wrong. We need to do what is best for ourselves and not expect to conform to an unattainable standard. I've started to do that myself, now that I'm not able to have my structed cleaning schedule every week. I no longer have the "all or nothing" mentality. I'm realizing that a little here and a little there is a-o-k. It doesn't make me a failure. For you to make that change and recognize that it has helped bring more happiness to your life is inspiring! 😀💛👍

    What a blessing for you to help Tisha! Thank you for sharing her story with us. I really feel for her and her family. My husband had Covid pneumonia last September, and just never really recovered. He had extreme exhaustion that was debilitating. He wound up being hospitalized in August, and has been diagnosed with a very rare auto-immune disease. It has turned our lives upside down. Caring for him has been my priority, but the more stressed I've been, the worse the house has gotten. I greatly appreciate you sharing these videos. It's encouraging me to get our home back into order. God bless you, Bonnie!

Yes, covid really disrupted a lot of lives and, for those that it was more like just having a cold, I'm sure it's hard to understand how it has really done some damage to some people.     If my house looked half as good as yours, I would be thrilled.Your house looks like a family lives there, and anyone visiting would feel comfortable. That's more important than a spotless home. Thank you for sharing,. And I have watched Mira as well. She has a very good sense of humor and makes no excuses for the state of her house.     I suffered from long COVID for over a year and still am not 💯!I could barely get up and brush my teeth, so my home became a hot mess. I am just starting to reorganize. She is definitely lucky to have a friend like you❤

      @butterflybaby429 I found your comment about brushing your teeth to be interesting. I've faithfully always had my 2x year dental check-up and cleaning. By the time I was able to see the dentist again since the pandemic, I had SIX cavities!!! 😬😳😩 (Weird nugget of information about me -- I cannot be in the same room as somebody brushing their teeth. It just grosses me out so much! (Kinda like nails on a chalkboard.). Plus, most toothpaste smells like mint. And I hate the smell of mint. (I know, I'll admit it, I am SO weird! 😂)
      I hope that you are able to continue working on your home and re-organizing, at your own pace! It is over-whelming. I'm still learnomg that it doesn't have to be done over-night -- it doesn't have to all be done all at oncee. Some days, you can work on a section of a closet. Other days, you can't. And that is okay! On the days you can, just choose a little bit. On the days you can't, don't feel bad! You are doing great! We all have strengths and weaknesses. And just know that you have people that are cheering you on, hoping for your success, even if it doesn't feel like it at times. Good luck! 🙂

And coincidentally I just went for my cleaning and the dentist told me that I had so many cavities between my teeth that he wasn’t sure what was going on! I’m telling you, it was the long covid! I’m still dealing with so many symptoms but as you said, I’m just completing things in small portions. Again, thank you, you made my day 🥰

    I hope your friend recovers soon. Long covid is exhausting and challenging for those who don't know. Tisha is amazing with a heart of gold. Sometimes we need to allow ourselves down time to rejuvenate. Your home is normal when our lives are busy. If you feel better wearing makeup, wear it, don't apologise for caring. You are an amazing and caring person, who loves cleaning and organising rooms. Love your work and the way you help others respectfully.

    Perfectly okay to do a video which is different from your usual- great to share when folks are willing and have something useful and meaningful to say! We have heard you mention Tisha before and now we sorta got to meet her! I appreciate that and know many are dealing with long Covid and could use support and compassion.     Wonderful how you helped your friend❤ My husband was in hospital with covid pneumonia just as pandemic started. It has been long journey of recovery ❤ Life changing! I loved all the puppers in video. God bless for all you do ❤❤

    I have fibromyalgia, and the long covid symptoms are so similar. I definitely understand that debilitating fatigue. Bless her heart!! I like watching your videos because they help give me strategies to keep up with my own cleaning! ❤

      I am so glad you are getting some benefit from these videos. Tisha has fibromyalgia as well as the long covid symptoms, so she would totally understand that part as well.     I know of a young mom who got long covid and she had to take a leave from work. It is no joke. Thankfully, when her family got covid a second time, her antibodies somehow from that exposure rid herself of long covid. I hope you feel better soon Tisha! 💕

    What you did for your friend is a wonderful act of kindness. I hope she gets better. You mentioned Mira in this video, I've watched her channel from the start of her decluttering journey, I think doing a collaboration with her would be a wonderful thing. I know she used to do crafting, getting a organized space for that would be wonderful! I give Mira so much credit for the achievements so far...help her with whatever she allows you to help with.❤ I'm not sure what kind of therapy she's going through, but sometimes just having a friend to help/talk to, can be the thing that can get someone over that hump.I appreciate the fact that you show us that at times your home looks "lived in", and life can get messy at times. Thanks for keeping it real. 😊

    My Mum was a gift hoarder, not on that epic scale, but 2 large drawers full of stuff that had been growing over the decades. When she became very elderly and somewhat forgetful, I would "do" her Christmas cards and presents for her. She had 2 kids, each with a spouse and 2 kids with spouses of their own. I would spend a happy afternoon, (with her snoozing disinterestedly alongside) going through the present drawer allocating gifts "from Mum" to each person and wrapping them. The first year we all had really nice things! The second year was OK, the third year everyone was delightfully anticipating all sorts of random and mostly worthless things, which they were! Envelopes, greasproof paper, emery boards, funny little raffia birds....
    I forget now! But they we all appreciated and treasured them all the more for all that!

    Thank you so much for this video! I do house cleaning/organizing for a living and I get all the time “your house must be immaculate”. That’s the furthest thing from the truth. When you do it all day five to six days a week, 1 there isn’t much time for my own and 2 sometimes I just need a break. Thank you for all you do to help others.

      Thank you. I'm thinking that I might start a video series a couple times a month where I show myself going through and decluttering and deep cleaning my own home. I really love Marie Kondo and the things that she teaches, so I think I would try to gear it towards really decluttering mostly. I'm still sort of processing how I might do this, but I think I might need to do something like that otherwise I really am never going to get back to cleaning my own home...haha!

I feel like you have something unique to share - in this video it was about being vulnerable. It definitely made me think about the areas in my life where I could be more vulnerable. I think you gave us more of who you are, stopped caring about pleasing the masses, about what the right thing to do or say was. And that authentic stuff, it shows us the real you and she’s very likable. 🥰 it’s kinda why I like Jamie’s Journey. She shows us the real her and the ups and downs in her life and it really touches me. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing more of you!

    My mom's mom was a bit of a gift hoarder. She had cancer but her death was still rather sudden. Going through her house afterwards was so bittersweet, because there were large piles of gifts meant for the great-grandkids, including for my daughter, who was still unborn and never got to meet her. 💔 She was the sweetest grandmother who always made us feel welcome!

    Very interesting. Never heard of a gifting hoarder😊 🎁 . I don't even know enough people to gift that much stuff too but it's an interesting concept. In my experience though, I'd just appreciate more the time spent with people I'm close to and sharing a meal or a cup of coffee and slice of pie with. Those are the things I remember although I have a number of special gifts from special friends over the many years of my life ❤️ ❤

      So true! And she's great for that as well. We obviously spend a lot of time together lately and it's been so fun! She does have great taste in gifts, though, and I love everything she has given me and display it often because I never have time to go find that stuff myself, but it totally fits my style. But, I know that she knows, if she stopped giving me any gifts, we would remain the best of friends anyway. She's a gem!

    I have been suffering from long covid for two years before someone told me about myoinositol. My lungs are never going to be same again however it is great help with brainfog, concentration issues and better energy levels. Maybe it could help your friend too. I didn’t think it was going to make any difference but I am grateful to the awful boss I had last year for telling me about it. It improved my quality of life and I don’t feel like suffering from dementia at 38 years old anymore.

    ❤Love Remi Clog, housekeeping is like ‘any given Sunday’ some days the house looks great and of course no one will drop in then and when chaos is swirling they come. Sometimes you get lucky and visitors will see the house that you are proud of. My small house, even when a mess, is always warm, inviting and a place I want to be. My in-laws houses have always looked tasteful, perfect and unlived in, it must be difficult to live like that. I did have one friend who passed many years ago that did have a perfectly kept house and you could go to her house at any given time and she looked like Jackie Kennedy, always fixed up and she was happy and she never judged anyone, so very kind. So I’m not saying everyone who keeps up their house and themselves has a sterile life.

    I STILL deal with all those symptoms from having long covid for almost a year and a half. Mine is also a long story, but I 100% empathize. I’m doing much better now, but every time I get Covid, I HAVE to rest for longer than I think I need to or I relapse. It takes months to get back up to speed after getting it. BIG HUGS!!!! ❤❤❤😢😊

When depression gets that bad and retail therapy gives you that little boost, it's hard to not just go on a shopping spree all the time. She is in a much better place now and we are getting her house under control.❤️😁

    Stackable cloth bins with lids are great- but you cannot see the quantity of what we own.
    You would have to reorganize, review, n reorganize often.
    Stacking for now shows what’s there (colors/type) n how much at a glance.

      I was waiting for this comment to come up because, I get it, I know OCD is not just about having tidy and organized spaces, but she does have some OCD tendencies that I won't get into here. I don't like to throw around that term lightly either because my husband has OCD and for 7 years it was debilitating enough that he wanted to take his own life. Fortunately, we finally found a medication that works well for him, but it was a very distressing time for both of us. I also have a very dear friend who has some major struggles with OCD and her day-to-day life can be very challenging. I probably shouldn't have said that in this video because it does come off as taking it to mean just people who like to be clean and organized. I am glad to know that other people out there who also understand that OCD is not just someone who likes things tidy.

    I absolutely adore Remi Clog! She's so real, so kind, so aware of herself and thoughtful of others. I really appreciate you being so real, also.
    The cleaners with the perfect homes make me so uncomfortable. I will never have that kind of home or life, so watching them in full makeup, perfect bodies, perfect long nails, spotless homes, with no clutter... just ugh. Do they even really live in those homes? Where is the junk mail? Grocery receipts? Unfinished projects? Random socks?
    Thank you both for being real. We need you! We need more like you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

      Agreed. I actually tend to let my house get pretty messy before I clean it up just because I really like a more extreme transformation. I am going to start to film some cleaning of my own home as an extra video here and there in addition to my free cleaning videos just to show people that my home can get pretty messy as well and to show the clutter that can build up. I think it will also help me to stay a little bit more on top of my home since my family deserves a clean home as well and I spend a whole lot of time cleaning other people's homes, so I'm sure they feel a little neglected when I don't always take care of our home. And since I love Marie Kondo and her methods so much, I will probably talk a lot about decluttering and the freedom it gives us to have less stuff.

      Yeah, she's pretty great! I'm terrible at making time to go buy anything to decorate my house with, so she keeps my house up to date.. haha! However, I have told her she needs to cut back because I definitely don't want her stressing about gifts when she has so many other things that going on right now.😊

    I wish I had your folding skills! I laughed when you were like oh inside my messy drawer and when you opened it it was super clean and organised lol. Your house is amazing!     This makes me feel so much better about my house. My father was always super particular about keeping the house clean and I'm paranoid that I'm a slob because I can't keep a house to that level. Seeing what normal looks like let's me know I'm not failing. My house isn't quite as clean as yours, but I'm not doing too bad! 😅

    I love that your house looks lived it! That’s real life! I have that same thing over my sink to hold sponges and stuff! I would love Tisha! I am also one who enjoy gifting to others! I don’t keep that much on hand, but I will pick little things to have on hand when they are on sale!

      Thank you! I actually want to find a replacement for that thing over the sink because it's always falling over and I know there are some great options out there that probably look a little nicer, too, but for now, it does the job.
      I admire those who can think ahead and pick out gifts to have on hand. I am not a big shopper, so I am hardly ever in a position to just be browsing for gifts to have on hand.
