Very good advices, I'm also struggling a bit around sharp corners, my instructor couldn't explain when is the best time to fully commit to the turn, can't wait to test this on the road :)
You will find 95% of instructors are only interested in their pockets and pass rate. They are only taught how to make you pass a test, not in how to drive. In rare exceptions like here you get someone that cares that little bit more, and makes this fine are a little bit more enjoyable. Now if we can get everyone to drive in a little less hurry the roads would improve 10 fold
It means that at 11:30 we can do that in one attempt by using available space on the right side before turning at that corner. That is what I do in roads at residence area.
My confidence was absolutely shattered after my second driving lesson last week. I couldn't figure out my judgement for left turns! I found your channel, watched some videos and today's lesson went so much better. Thank you for everything Richard, your videos are absolutely amazing and I love your teaching style. I saw hundreds of videos before I got my license in the UAE but your videos are most detailed and gives real driver view. I am constantly learning new things and tips from you. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and effort for us❤
God bless you. You have no idea how much you've helped me learn. I live in Pakistan, about 5200 miles from where you are. I've struggled to learn how to drive smoothly for weeks and your videos have helped me drive a million times better in two days. No instructor where I live and no one even on TH-cam, delves into all the nuances that annoy a learner or scare them or make them panic quite like you do. I now have a solution for almost every problem I've encountered during my learning period. I would like to make a request, if I may. I've seen your videos on reverse parking, but I wanna ask you to make a video or a series on reverse driving. Reverse driving still intimidates me. I find it hard staying in the middle of the lane while reversing and not hitting the sidewalk when going or turning backwards. In this video you've explained how to turn around a tight corner when driving forwards splendidly (i.e. make sure you can see a considerable amount of empty space through your side window before turning), but how can one judge trying to REVERSE around such a tight corner so as not to hit the corner or the bend? Again, thanks from the other side of the world. You're a gem. Keep it up.
1 month at the driving school only to learn how to properly steer the car within 15 mins with the help of this brilliant guy. Saved me alot of stress. Thank you and keep going!

I'm in Malaysia and DAYUMN these people drive so recklessly. Doesn't help that we're given turns that are too close together and often have to change two lanes within 300 meters after entering that short road. Your videos have helped me tremendously with being more comfortable on the road and developing habits/thought processes required to be a good driver who understands that I simply borrow a small space on a shared road Thank you, sir! You explain things in a way that’s easy to understand and remember!, I’m going to be learning to drive as soon as the government says it’s safe to do so! I’ve just ordered my first car on motability so I’m trying to prepare myself as much as I can before getting on the road, your videos have been really helpful!
His "put your knee in the middle of your lane" tip is actually game changing. I was hesitating to try at first because i think "what about my car?!" But damn, when you do try it feels natural and the car is very predictable for some reason.
No joke this guy helped me pass first time. I used to lack so much confidence but having such detailed tutorials such as these got rid of that prior to my test. Thank you!!
Thanks, after my Dad yelling “keep in” every time I take a sharp bend (with no oncoming traffic) and me then curbing the back wheel multiple times for him to just say “everyone does that” and acting like that is how tight corners are meant to be taken, I now finally understand how to drive tight corners in the way that makes sense and avoids car damage/potential test fail 😁.
I passed my test a month ago. Sooo many videos of yours I’ve watched and I’m so grateful I did. Thanks so much for your videos! Can’t recommend them enough
Great video. I am looking for good instructional vids for my two eldest grandchildren who are both learning to drive. Yours are excellent. What did make me chuckle were the number of small walls which had been hit numerous times. @1.37 just under the nearside wing mirror; @5.59 to the right of the offside wing mirror. I passed my test in 1967 and I still like to pick up tips. Never too late to learn!👍

Watching this after failing my test this morning because I hit the kerb multiple times on left turns (one of which was a serious). Worse part was I never normally do that and the road was wide but I was scared I'd go wide. Really helpful watch!

I was expecting that he’d say check the back of your car while turning over the walls. This is a great video for the beginners though. Please make a video on judging the length of the car. The pillars made a lot of sense 😇
this is a very good video.. applicable in lots of countries and places with narrow streets.. sometimes the lanes can be narrow that you can't take out car in one go. In that case, what I do sometimes is go wide as you have suggested and try to aim short of opposite corner across where you risk B pillar. Then turn wheel back in opposite direction, come back a bit and then forward again and it goes through.
You are truly an amazing teacher! Love all your videos! I need to retake my driver's license road test, only because I am in another country from my birth country :) Thank you for the opportunity to learn once again, and I am over 50, so it is tough learning all over again :D
Am super thankful towards the person taking such effort to make these videos. I'm sure it helps not only the learner drivers but perhaps even the experienced ones as well. Keep it up! 👍
Wow ... Very practical way to teach driving... This video is useful, not only for England but for all those countries left-hand drive countries.... any Tight turns , 90degree parking and parallel parking are examples of good driving... I drive a manual sedan ... I know the pain... 🤣
I can't thank you enough for these videos. My friend went from being scared In the passenger seat to being really chilled with me driving much smoother. I'm gunna keep learning, and I'm gunna keep practicing :) thank you so much, from a guy who got a car 5 years after passing and hadn't touched a car until i urgently needed one 3 weeks ago for a job change, and has ridden motorcycles for 10 years 😂
i am planning to drive a kinda big van, like the one you encountered, in my hometown sometimes that has very tight turns like the ones you demonstrated. i haven't had my license due to the pandemic yet but watching your videos will probably have me so ready for the driving exam on the theoretical level.
I always afraid of making the sharp and tight turn thinking that I would mount the kerb and risking damaging my rims or lower side of my car. This video is quite helpful. Usually if I've no confidence, I try another way round or else I got unnecessary repair on my car 🙁..
I’ve started learning how to drive but I keep hitting the curb atleast once every lesson or go out too wide. I have done 3 lessons but still struggling. 😃 Thank you this is very helpful.
Hi, I was wondering if you could possibly cover driving (or tips for driving) in snowy conditions and ice? I find your videos and visuals really helpful to refer to 😊 have a great New Year!
I once tried to enter a very narrow 1 way street which not much space in between (just enough for a standard car). I actually failed and bump the left side of the wall. I though I was going slow (beginner's mistake). The best lesson I learned is if you are turning on narrow road when you're on a manual just work on the clutch and breaks. Don't do much gas until you're cleared. So you can break at least if you made a wrong calculation.
Hey Richard, I came to your video to see what I did wrong when I scraped a curb last night. Here's the scenario: Driving at around 11pm just dropping some friends off. Bare in mind, the car is full and the combination of the cold weather and everyone breathing has all the windows bar the from and rear windscreen completley misted up. As I'm driving down the side road, I arrive at a T junction, now at 11pm and in this area, there are no cars but also not much light. Unfortunately, my positioning was dead straight or facing towards the curb, but definitely not towards the right to give myself more space. If you recall, the windows were misted up, so usually i look through the passenger window as you did here to understand where the car is relative to the curb or wall. And instead of opening the passenger window to get a view, i guessed and turned too early, or too tight and scraped my skirting with the curb. And of course, this curb in particular is the highest curb I've ever seen in my life, so I have a nice scar on the car to remember it by. If you've read all of this, thank you. But, what would you suggest for such a situation in the future? Keep it up!
I would definitely recommend clearing your windows of mist before driving. Air conditioning helps a lot. Sounds like you need to steer a bit later to avoid the issue.
When visibility is obstructed, I try to anticipate the part which I wouldn't be able to see beforehand. For example, anticipating where my rear wheel would be when I would be near the corner. Before I saw this video, I have been doing this all the time. This could require some degree of spatial awareness and, for me, is scary at times.
I passed my test first try but feel so unmotivated and I'm not confident to go alone at all..I did twice but that's it. I find your videos very helpful. Thank you for making them
I NEVER GET TO A DRIVING SCHOOL TO PRACTICE HOW TO DRIVE OR TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT WITH THIS VIDEO IT'S VERY MUCH EASY FOR ME TO DO THE SAME ACTION WHEN I WENT TO A DRIVING SCHOOL VERY AMAZING QUESTION: PLEASE HOW CAN SOMEONE TURN IN A TIGHT CORNER AT NIGHT AND WHEN AND HOW TO REVERSE AT NIGHT? THIS IS YOUR VIEWER FROM SIERRA LEONE!..👀👂
At night it's the same as during the day just harder to see. I find fog lights can help when doing manoeuvres as they light up your immediate vicinity.
Hi Richard, thank you so much for this, I don’t know where you learnt this or who you learnt this from but it’s absolute genius, I still do this to this day when making left turns 😀
My last lesson my instructor said at the end of the road (which was a one way) is a stop sign and has sharp corners. I positioned to the middle of the road as I was turning left, leaving enough room at the side of me in case another car wanted to turn right. I stopped at the end, looking both ways as it was a closed junction too, edging out cm’s at a time till I had a good view for a space for me to pull out and I didn’t clip or mount the curb. Thing is,I’ve never been taught this. I took what the instructor said and thought about what I was going to do prior to the junction. I found it easy to work out with forward planning, but would it have been so easy if I was on my own.

I'm sorry to hear that, keep practising, stay positive and look forward to next time.
Just got my license first try, Thanks to you!
Congratulations!
I'm still learning drive, thank u so much for your greatly video's it's helped me a lots
The instructor of instructors. Thanks buddy
Hey Richard, I came to your video to see what I did wrong when I scraped a curb last night. Here's the scenario:
Driving at around 11pm just dropping some friends off.
@@ConquerDriving Thank you. Will definitely consider demisting 'all' windows next time!
Thank you for making them
Thank you, try driving when it's quiet for short periods of time but regularly, maybe this will help improve your confidence.
@@ConquerDriving thank you for responding! I will 😊
I NEVER GET TO A DRIVING SCHOOL TO PRACTICE HOW TO DRIVE OR TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT WITH THIS VIDEO IT'S VERY MUCH EASY FOR ME TO DO THE SAME ACTION WHEN I WENT TO A DRIVING SCHOOL VERY AMAZING QUESTION: PLEASE HOW CAN SOMEONE TURN IN A TIGHT CORNER AT NIGHT AND WHEN AND HOW TO REVERSE AT NIGHT? THIS IS YOUR VIEWER FROM SIERRA LEONE!..👀👂
At night it's the same as during the day just harder to see. I find fog lights can help when doing manoeuvres as they light up your immediate vicinity.
I haven't been up to date with your videos, now i can binge watch during my time off. Wooo!
I’m watching this and I’ve already passed my license ages ago😂
I'm watching this as I'm about to get my car out of a tight parking spot
@@darwinbox1184 hahahahahhaha
I'm currently learning to drive and your videos are a great source for me, keep it up the great work mate, and thanks
Hi Richard, thank you so much for this, I don’t know where you learnt this or who you learnt this from but it’s absolute genius, I still do this to this day when making left turns 😀
Very good instructor. Thank you very much. God bless you.
Excellent ,clear, helpful advice. Thank you.
Lovely information, amazing you're the best instructor thank you so much I learned a lot more knowledge than my instructor you are amazing
Best tutorial ever alas it wd hv been better if seen 3 yrs ago,,, i scratched my car a lot by talking these turns 😁
Thank you. I'm sorry to hear that.
That's exactly what you should do, edge out slowly if you can't see until you see it's clear.
@@ConquerDriving it’s all down to the way you explain things that have given me the knowledge to put it into practice when these scenarios come into play. I find your videos priceless 👌🏻
Ture hero for learner drives ❤
A big Thank you 👏👏👏Your videos helped me with a lot of situations I'm not comfortable like projecting how wide the road is And when to start turning
Be quality to learn with you, so calm, my sisters driving instructor has no patience 😂

May God bless u.....you are so special instructor !
You seem to be a nice young guy. We thank you for the services.
Thank you, Vox Populi is a good song by 30 seconds to Mars.
@@ConquerDriving wow! Brother, I really had no idea about the song; nor about the band either. It is a total coincidence!
I just listened to the song and it really was soooo amazing that it almost completely expresses my current psychic situation. There is a bloody genocide being committed now on my innocent people in northern Ethiopia.
Thank you soooo much and my apologies about this totally off agenda comment.
Keep doing the great services brother.
BTW, I happen to have a driving license. I come to your channel for some driving life hacks.😅
