I love this sam's dad left everything to her and left Fiona with nothing. And for years Fiona hid it hoping Sam would never find it. And after 8 years and all she and daughters put her though. Sam is now selling all there possessions and having them working at the diner. Talk about karma.

Fun fact: Sam finds Hal's will hidden in her childhood fairytale book, which states that all of his money, belongings, the house and diner actually belong to her. Since this leaves her as the rightful and legal owner, Sam sells her stepfamily's possessions for college, and Fiona, who signed the will as a witness but claims to have never seen it before, is arrested by the LAPD and the County district attorney for financial fraud, swindling Sam out of her inheritance and violating child labor laws by having Sam work long hours despite being a minor.
Sam's stepsisters retrieve her real acceptance letter to Princeton from a dumpster, where Fiona "filed" it. Soon, Fiona and her daughters are made to work at the diner to work off all the money they stole from Sam over the years as an alternate and well-deserved punishment over prison and juvenile hall by the D.A. So once again to Fiona and your daughters LOOO-HOOO-ZUH-HER!

Actually it’s a little sad. Yes Fiona was a bitch and deserved her punishment, but the dad had no idea who she really was when he let her signed the paper, which left her nothing. He left her nothing when he thought she was kind, isn’t that a bit unfair ?
Well, the thing is, Sam is Hal's biological daughter which makes her the rightful heiress to the house, diner and everything the Montgomery family. Fiona may have promised Hal to show his will to Sam while he was dying during the earthquake but decided not to because she wanted the inheritance for herself.
Well 🤔 Not really. I'm pretty sure he must have left her some money which she quickly spent over the course of time, but it makes sense he'd leave his daughter a house and business for her future.

I think she had reckless spending before. My aunt put her insurance and will with her sister (my mom was the agent) because of my uncles gambling problem. She loves her husband, hes a great father, he just has a spending problem. Same with my mom, my aunt is the benefactor if both my mom and dad should die, and me and my sister are young. My aunt and mom are very close and would be better to help us if were underage and dont know how to properly spend and save money, and what bills are etc. My sis and i are now grown, but when i eas little my mom always told us what would happen if she and my stepdad were to pass, and who we would go to.
Lol having a mom as an insurance agent makes you have these talks lmao. Its pretty common to not leave money with your spouse, a lot of people have seperate reasons. He may have also been worried that she married him for money, and that doubt wasnt big enough to end the relationship but was big enough to not leave her his money.
