what is the role of EAP here? Radius is providing authentication, so what is EAP doing here, got confused. Thanks

RADIUS is like a security guard, EAP is a tool that RADIUS uses like checking for a password or IDs to let you enter. just like that CHAP is something that when used with RADIUS will ask for you ID with a challenge question, and you answer with a secret code , that makes sure you are not faking it.
