they've been pushing so many reasons to not solo-crew large ships, engineering systems and nerfing the corsair etc, that the game is in desperate need for higher end ships that are actually designed for solo pilots that aren't super niche combat roles like the eclipse or lightning. We need an endgame version of the roles that starter ships provide, single person transports but with real combat ability instead of some shit like 2 size 2s. Really hoping the guardian is that.
This thing looks so incredible! But I seem to remember someone mentioning it has an interior, so my guess is that it does, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
the double fuel tanks has me to believe that it will be a long range fighter, also ever since the f8 got a nerf to fuel tanks putting it in a carrier needed tier.
Real question is, how well will it perform compared to my current favorite single seat heavy fighter, the Glaive, which similarly has 2 size 5 cannons? If it has an interior and can outperform her Wrath cannons through the utility of having options to equip repeaters and gattlings... then I may have a new favorite ship to shove in my Polaris
@QuotidianStupidity it likely will, looking at its height compared to a landing gear deployed Scorpius, or especially a Vulture, it seems height will not be an issue, and it looks much less wide than some ships that already fit. Length also seems less than a vulture. I should check leaked metrics to support, but purely based off the video we saw and comparison to other ships it seems it will fit.
@QuotidianStupidity just confirmed based on data mined metrics. Vulture measurments; Length: 33 Height: 9 Beam (Width):16 Guardian Measurments; Length: 24 Height: 9.1 Beam (Width): 16 So it looks like it will be a perfect fit, leaving a little more room in front or behind to put a snub or two.
@QuotidianStupidity oh yeah, no where near. The comparison there is just that they are the only dedicated fighters with interiors, so the comparison was to show what a fighter interior may focus on. As long as you dont count larger combat vessels like the Redeemer Gunship as fighters that is.
Sure, but this topic is in regards to heavy fighters. In the long range heavy fighter category we only have one ship with an interior, the venerable Vanguard.
lol, that ship will need to be so wildly tanky to be anything but NPC fodder! The pretty design is the main weakness of its snub counterpart because of the ease with which one can hit it. Once it’s engaged in battle it will take hits until it either disables its opponent, manages to flee or is itself disabled. Dodging fire won’t be much of an option.
i just hope this thing is stupid fast like 1200m/s+ it looks the part and may replace my MSR as a speedy daily if it comes with enough QT fuel dont use the MSR for cargo anymore since the polaris showed up and the zeus
It’s odd we only have one heavy long range fighter. You’re right, it’s too large not to have an interior. The question in my mind is the interior just a logout bed? If it competes with the vanguard it will have an eating area and bathroom.
As far as i know they got interior in regards of components, of course. But what interiora to expect with a Fighter. Ahhh Like the vanguard.... OK now ununderstand. Sorry
I mean, so far all the leaks have been accurate, and the leaks said it has a suit/ gun lockers and a bed. So it doesnt seem like that much of a mystery
Hello everyone and listen up, as I was about to make a video about possibilities of Guardian interior and what not, I'd rather post my 2 week long investigation here instead so it could help the author of this video here! 1. We've got the Spacewolf intro - 2x S5 weapons, 8x S3 rockets and nothing more about quantum dampner or interior. 2. We have a new introduction with more pew pew and even two of them flying near each other. - in the second video we can see both of them holding 2x S5 weapons and one of them has shown 16x S3 rockets, more importantly:... - there is a video witch is 3 seconds long, watch it with 0,25 speed and loop it, you can see something deep behind pilot seat. - there is a sequence when from pilot perspective he shoots Harbringer - look at the top left side buttons, QD, and QTMN. ... My conclusion is we can have both: A. 2x S5 weapons, 8x rockets and Quantum dampner with no interior cuz od QD systems B. 2x S5 weapons, 16x rockets and interior as long range heavy fighter C. There is just 1 version with 2x S5, 16 rockets, an interior, quantum damper and who knows what's more and the earlier video showed only 8x rockets cuz he used them to fight. Dear JGun, use this info and make another video, thank you!
if it has an interior, i might get it. If not, zero interest. The vanguards are the only current heavy fighters id even consider, interiors are that important to how i play. I don't love the weapon loadout, or the necessity of having additional crew on the vanguards though. What I want is a solo heavy fighter, with an interior. A fighting ship I can live out of.
@@buhatkj if this has an interior, it would fit the bill perfectly! I 100% agree with the vanguards Being under-gunned. And the Turrets in the Vanguard are terrible. The guardian could potentially be the perfect solo heavy fighter.
I believe CIG has confirmed that it will have an interior and data miners found data showing lockers and a bed. Interior aside I think this ship is better designed than the Vanguard. With CIGs no npc crew at launch announcement that makes it tougher to crew a Vanguard for a long range mission so it being a 1 man ship is better imo. The 2xS5 is a better setup and better placement than the Vanguards 1xS5 hanging off the chin. It makes the ship look awful and frankly stupid. Plus the whole mix of 4xS2 nose guns and the 1xS5 was a bad setup for a ship that was supposed to hunt bombers and other bigger ships. The 2xS5 setup, while less overall dps than what the Vanguard has (3072 vs 3356 (no turret)) the 2xS5 means better pip alignment and more consistent weapon ranges. You wont lose half your dps if you are hanging back. Hopefully the fact that it only has 2 guns means you will also get more shots per a full capacitor. Data mining also showed only 1 S2 shield so its a little light on shielding and its a little more maneuverable than the Vanguard, but not by alot. I am hoping thy give the ship a second S2 shield to put it more inline with the Vanguard and Lightning. It will have the lowest dps, it doesnt need the lowest shielding also. We are also supposed to get a second version that loses one of the S5 guns and gets quantum interdiction unit in its place.
I like the quad views of the Vanguards! I'm thinking there has to be an interior... Those bulges on the side of the glass make me think room for the chair to rotate. Also all the views I've seen of the Guardian have been with it's wings in combat mode. I imagine the fold and move just like the Fury so maybe in it's landed state there's a more obvious entry point.
My bet is that it has an interior or its basically dead on arrival like the new crusader starter. Not even selling the guardian at least at iae was assinine of cig however. Lot of folks saved dough to fork out for that and it just turned into christmas amazon purchases. Rip
Yeah, I agree I am probably spending the money elsewhere. The disappointment of not seeing it during IAE has sort of killed the hype for me. Oh well CIG just convinced me to spend the money on a few other games I've been wanting to get and play. Maybe next year CIG might get my money but not this year.
im still calling it "superfury" but its a fast switchover to it from the vanguard for me if it has what i need, i like vanguard's capabilities but i hate the ship... it just seems like it was built backwards hardware wise
@@jgun-tv thanks for making it 🙂 its not just that theyre dated... it just always rubbed me the wrong way... the center is modular instead of the nacelles, the big gun is gimballed and the small ones fixed... it just doesnt make any sense to me
@@jgun-tv Agree I have been saying for years now they should have dumped the S5 chin gun and made hardpoints connected to the life pod based on the variant. So Warden gets 2xS4, Sentinel gets 1xS4 & 1xS4 EWAR pod, Harbinger gets 1xS5 mounted opposite the torpedo doors, and Hoplite gets 4xS3 on a remote turret. it would have looked better and gave each variant more of an individualized loadout based on its version.
I have no hope , this thing just screams Fat Fury and nothing else. They’re excuse for how big it is will probably be along the lines of “the capacitors for this thing will be huge, and it needs that space to store all the large components and coolers so it can be fast and nimble while being so big” I’d put money on it, but I want to be wrong.
The Lightning doesnt have a turret and the Vanguard was considered one of the better pvp ships for years just being flown solo. So I dont think the turret loss will be a big factor.
@@axelmousti5812 If you are referring to the current patch then no its not the top dog. MM has ruined all fighters except interceptors and the F7MK2. Before MM the Vanguard was doing very well in pvp and many of the big pvpers would put it in A or S tier. I also wouldnt say a turret saves you either. Its pretty easy for fighters to stay out of range of the turret, which is why multicrew ships are in such a bad place right now. A fighter just needs to fly smart and whittle you down.
I think you might be right about a rear entry. I suspect no bed, less interior than the Vanguard. Vanguard are made for long range that’s why they need a bed. This oversized tie fighter is a short range fighter. Its interior if it has one will be minimal at best. Which I think is good as it’ll leave the Vanguard as the go to fighter with an interior.
This is being released with 4.0, so it looks like its supposed to be a ship with Pyro in mind, which would mean its going to need to be a long range ship. Pyro is supposed to have longer distances than Stanton, so long range will be a must there.

The fact they didn't put it on sale during IAE is weird, like why hide it?
@@Beardfrey hopefully after seeing this they’ll hollow it out and make an interior? :)
I love flying the Sentinel. I really hope it does have an interior. Im really looking forward to the QI variant
they've been pushing so many reasons to not solo-crew large ships, engineering systems and nerfing the corsair etc, that the game is in desperate need for higher end ships that are actually designed for solo pilots that aren't super niche combat roles like the eclipse or lightning. We need an endgame version of the roles that starter ships provide, single person transports but with real combat ability instead of some shit like 2 size 2s. Really hoping the guardian is that.
@@frank8959 also hoping the same. Fingers crossed.
This thing looks so incredible!
But I seem to remember someone mentioning it has an interior, so my guess is that it does, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
@@j.d.4697 fingers crossed!
Now this guardian i like. Look at the ballistic shielding on those baby. I hope it fits the starlancer Tac.
It's not going to fit in the Starlancer TAC; this is a big ship. For reference, the Vanguard ships won't even fit inside the Polaris hanger.
@@ShevaiAsan This might though. Will depend on its overall length. The Vanguards shape and length I can see being an issue for the Polaris hanger.
the double fuel tanks has me to believe that it will be a long range fighter, also ever since the f8 got a nerf to fuel tanks putting it in a carrier needed tier.
Too good to be true.
Well, maybe. But it also could NOT have an interior and just be a cockpit fighter. Then I'll be sad. Looks cool as heck though regardless :)
We know it has an interior. The data mined stuff includes things like the bed and entrance ramp
It likely won't fit in a Polaris
@QuotidianStupidity it likely will, looking at its height compared to a landing gear deployed Scorpius, or especially a Vulture, it seems height will not be an issue, and it looks much less wide than some ships that already fit. Length also seems less than a vulture. I should check leaked metrics to support, but purely based off the video we saw and comparison to other ships it seems it will fit.
@QuotidianStupidity just confirmed based on data mined metrics.
Vulture measurments;
Length: 33
Height: 9
Beam (Width):16
Guardian Measurments;
Length: 24
Height: 9.1
Beam (Width): 16
So it looks like it will be a perfect fit, leaving a little more room in front or behind to put a snub or two.
@@ParagonFangXen fair enough, I was going off the OP saying a vanguard doesn’t fit and assumes they would be the same dims
@QuotidianStupidity oh yeah, no where near. The comparison there is just that they are the only dedicated fighters with interiors, so the comparison was to show what a fighter interior may focus on. As long as you dont count larger combat vessels like the Redeemer Gunship as fighters that is.
Banu defender also has interior
It is only classed as a light fighter now
the banu defender has an interior as a fighter
Sure, but this topic is in regards to heavy fighters. In the long range heavy fighter category we only have one ship with an interior, the venerable Vanguard.
Release date?
@@plrrt alpha 4.0
lol, that ship will need to be so wildly tanky to be anything but NPC fodder! The pretty design is the main weakness of its snub counterpart because of the ease with which one can hit it. Once it’s engaged in battle it will take hits until it either disables its opponent, manages to flee or is itself disabled. Dodging fire won’t be much of an option.
wow amazing production value. Ill keep you.
@@typhlosion4223 thank you! And thanks for watching!
i just hope this thing is stupid fast like 1200m/s+
it looks the part and may replace my MSR as a speedy daily if it comes with enough QT fuel
dont use the MSR for cargo anymore since the polaris showed up and the zeus
Based on its size. Its probably going to have an interior
banu defender?
@@tasURSUSTAS the defender is a medium fighter. But in the hands of a good pilot, it probably keeps up with the heavies in terms of DPS.
@@jgun-tv technically, classed as a light fighter
It´s gonna have cargo space, pilot´s quarters, a tractor beam and a medbed xD
I kinda want one
It’s odd we only have one heavy long range fighter. You’re right, it’s too large not to have an interior. The question in my mind is the interior just a logout bed? If it competes with the vanguard it will have an eating area and bathroom.
@@artsolano6762 would be cool to have a few amenities but I’d be happy as a clam with just a logout bed.
@ I put internal repairs a few SCU and an armor locker above a kitchenette and a shower.
Also Scorpius, F8 are heavy fighters.
@@JKraft-qd1uf no interiors though in those.
As far as i know they got interior in regards of components, of course. But what interiora to expect with a Fighter.
Ahhh Like the vanguard.... OK now ununderstand. Sorry
In my opinion it has the interior with the bed

Came here for the guardian not the vanguard
Ammunition! And large shield gens, missile payload!
I mean, so far all the leaks have been accurate, and the leaks said it has a suit/ gun lockers and a bed. So it doesnt seem like that much of a mystery
@@pugjob4612 let’s hope the leaks were true.
Hello everyone and listen up, as I was about to make a video about possibilities of Guardian interior and what not, I'd rather post my 2 week long investigation here instead so it could help the author of this video here!
1. We've got the Spacewolf intro
- 2x S5 weapons, 8x S3 rockets and nothing more about quantum dampner or interior.
- there is a sequence when from pilot perspective he shoots Harbringer - look at the top left side buttons, QD, and QTMN.
... My conclusion is we can have both:
A. 2x S5 weapons, 8x rockets and Quantum dampner with no interior cuz od QD systems
B. 2x S5 weapons, 16x rockets and interior as long range heavy fighter
C. There is just 1 version with 2x S5, 16 rockets, an interior, quantum damper and who knows what's more and the earlier video showed only 8x rockets cuz he used them to fight.
Dear JGun, use this info and make another video, thank you!
and i said truth...
Size 5 weapons will be nerfed to size 4 for “balancing” weeks after release and getting everyone’s money.
You're not wrong LOL.
I was told to be excited for IAE. All I got were ships I like and not able to buy. And none of the ones I wanted released.
@@TheRiolumon I was a bit disappointed as well. The only ship that was really new was the Intrepid and it’s a bit underwhelming.
Need a Razorback Ship like (The Expanse )😛
if it has an interior, i might get it.
It was my most anticipated ship before 4.0... and was expecting it at IAE... I guess not
I like the quad views of the Vanguards!
@@vanvino4074 thank you! Hopefully we’ll find out soon!
My bet is that it has an interior or its basically dead on arrival like the new crusader starter. Not even selling the guardian at least at iae was assinine of cig however. Lot of folks saved dough to fork out for that and it just turned into christmas amazon purchases. Rip
@@BlueSpectre if it is coming with 4.0 then we may see it this year.
Yeah, I agree I am probably spending the money elsewhere. The disappointment of not seeing it during IAE has sort of killed the hype for me. Oh well CIG just convinced me to spend the money on a few other games I've been wanting to get and play. Maybe next year CIG might get my money but not this year.
im still calling it "superfury"
but its a fast switchover to it from the vanguard for me if it has what i need, i like vanguard's capabilities but i hate the ship... it just seems like it was built backwards hardware wise
@@ThunderbirdAnthares the vanguards feel extremely dated now. I’m excited to get something new in that class. Thank you for watching!
@@jgun-tv thanks for making it 🙂
its not just that theyre dated... it just always rubbed me the wrong way... the center is modular instead of the nacelles, the big gun is gimballed and the small ones fixed... it just doesnt make any sense to me
and now you guys see why development is taking so long
@@jgun-tv Agree I have been saying for years now they should have dumped the S5 chin gun and made hardpoints connected to the life pod based on the variant.
The rest of the ship could just be for bigger components
I'll laugh if it has an interior but no QD ... lol
Wishful thinking. Video fueled by hopes and prayers.
As are most things with Star Citizen LOL
I have no hope , this thing just screams Fat Fury and nothing else.
They’re excuse for how big it is will probably be along the lines of “the capacitors for this thing will be huge, and it needs that space to store all the large components and coolers so it can be fast and nimble while being so big”
I’d put money on it, but I want to be wrong.
interior
@@hb7of9 is on the inside
Lol interior is literally the last concern of mine when i think heavy fighter. My thought go immediately to whats the loadout and pitch/yaw/roll stats
heavy fighter without turret is called a victim.
The Lightning doesnt have a turret and the Vanguard was considered one of the better pvp ships for years just being flown solo. So I dont think the turret loss will be a big factor.
@@dgc2540 I would like to agree please just tell me how the better pvp ships was never seen in the pvp lobies ?

Which I think is good as it’ll leave the Vanguard as the go to fighter with an interior.
and now i'm sad :(
I want this thing to have a bed so badly!
This is being released with 4.0, so it looks like its supposed to be a ship with Pyro in mind, which would mean its going to need to be a long range ship. Pyro is supposed to have longer distances than Stanton, so long range will be a must there.
What's leaked on pipeline discord, it seems that it's gonna have an interior, probably small though like the Mustang.
"...suit lockers, bed were found => ergo got an interior
access to that directly via cockpit ladder and also elevator "
