  • G'day, this is a sped up vid of a basic cold start in my home made F/A-18 Hornet cockpit using DCS.

    I remember when I was a plane captain always wondering what they where doing up there lol. Then I downloaded DCS and bought a hornet lol. Love the cockpit, I'm building one right now myself.

      I imagine this is the hornet pilot stuck on the ramp in San Diego when the nuke launch warning just came in.

      yeah, it is sped up vid, (x3 i think) thought the actual ramp start would be too boring.

    How much money does this cost? I'm gonnna try getting something similar for ethier a Sukhoi or a Grumman(Prefferably the F-14).

    Got any info or a direction you can point me to the radar warning altimeter (by the right knee). Looks like yoyu have an oled instead of a guage. Where can I find out how to do that?

      Hey mate that is all I started with!! Just had a quick look at my spreadsheet and currently at $5500. That does not include pc and tv. Also I already had the stick Rudders and mfd's when i started the project.

      @@TheHornetProject I have no doubts :) I am currently figuring out Arduino, I already know Fusion 360 and I want to build my own but I'm sceptical of getting the proportions fitting to the VR FOV. I get that the consoles would be easy enough to use blind, but I'm doubly concerned about the Radio and MFD's. Would love to hear your thoughts, how often you have to peek and how it feels, maybe a video? :)

      when i was using VR i found placing little lumps on certain buttons helped alot, like the 5 on the keypad.
