Yeah that's right I think the best way is to invest with a professional, at least it saves the trauma of too much losses.
Investment needs intensive research, charting, and then to understand theta decay on options etc. so much to explain my friend. Hiring a coach like Luke Bellingham maybe the correct route for you.

Option 1 is better and you really dont save time with crypto IRA because the rollover time is usually 2 to 4 weeks. So, you can do option 1 in 2 to 3 weeks

A self directed IRA sounds great for the low cap cryptos or for being able to trade cryptos 24/7 (if the directed IRA allows it). Otherwise, if you are trading the big boys like BTC and ETH, you can buy the equivalent in your normal ROTH via GBTC and ETHE for example. You would save time and fees this way, but you are limited to trading during stock trading hours.
OBTC also at lower fee than GBTC

Yeah it's good for retirement, but I'll never sell my crypto. I'll just use it as collateral for a loan on blockfi at a low percentage instead of getting taxed 40% for selling it and losing almost half. And then when the blockfi loan is paid off I get the entire amount of my crypto back, no taxes.

There is a big risk involved getting a loan against your crypto as a collateral. When the price drops either you have to put more crypto as a collateral or face liquidation and lose all of your crypto in a short period of time. At a 70% LTV your loan enters a margin call.

Under the llc you can do both. Under the CRoth you can only do crypto.

@@savoirfaire312 I think the LLC depends on where you live. Like in Idaho it looks like it's 100 for the filing fee and 0 annual but Indiana where I live it's like 90 filing and 30 every year.

I think what fidelity is doing , they’re linking your Coinbase account to their platform where you can check balances, but that’s about it. You can’t invest in crypto with Fidelity yet. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happening very soon.

One would need to cash out and pay cap gains I assume but the remainder could be used for the backdoor Roth I assume? If you are capable of saving money you do not need Acorns.
Just put money into a ROTH as long as you fall in the income parramiters.

For option 1 regarding LLC, I already have a regular non-crypto ROTH. Can I just just contribute my cash from my ROTH to LLC, and thus no need for self-directed IRA?

@@sungkim1728 yes. Only self-directed IRA's or any other self-directed retirement account can invest in this alternative investments besides the regular brokerages products. It has to be set up as self-directed.

No you don’t have to be the registered agent, whatever state you apply your business license with should have one…I have one assigned to me through tone of the online licensing sites that do everything for you, including get you an EIN #…hope this helps!

Gemini??? I don't want some centralized exchange holding my keys to my crypto. Not your keys not your crypto. When they go bankrupt or if they get hacked you lose everything which is happeningalot these days. I would like to have my own defi wallet like metamask. Is this an option?? That's scary af to allow so Joe blow exchange to hold any of your crypto. Centralized exchanges are just a fiat gateway to real investing.
Directed IRA has a $300 annual fee. That seems rather high to me.
Another company with the same product has the same annual fee. Seems like it might be this rate until more platforms offer it and it gets more competitive.
Most also charge about a 1% trading fee like Choice by Kingdom Trust…but you still save more by not paying capital gains tax
Real Estate IRAs do the same thing & have a lot of rules.

You will have to set up a new wallet. When dealing with self-directed investments, you have to remember, the wallet can't be under your name, or owned by you, it is owned by your retirement account. So you can keep your personal wallet, but if you want your retirement account to own crypto, you will need your retirement account to open a wallet! Anyone who does not do this is crazy. Your crypto holdings may 100x over 5 or 10 years. And you will pay NO tax on that, vs paying $500k in tax. Because the gains in crypto are so much more (potentially) than in the stock market that getting in on the ROTH is 💥, a no brainer.
Fidelity is telling me I can’t take the existing money from my traditional IRA to pay the taxes on my ROTH, they said I have to have the money for taxes on hand to pay at the end of the year. Are they telling the truth?
I think so. They are only allowed to deduct the penalty for an early distribution. IRS sets the rules for tax taken out early. But I’d call again and confirm 👍🏻
