1994 Donegal International Rally

On his one and only attempt at the Donegal International Rally, Stephen Finlay left with the winners trophy. In treacherous conditions over the opening two days he was fighting with Bertie Fisher for the lead but Fisher slipped off the road on Saturday afternoon allowing Finlay to cruise home with an eventual winning margin of three and a half minutes. Kenny McKinstry recovered to finish second after a disastrous opening day keeping his Irish Tarmac Rally Championship hopes alive.

Brilliant Driver Stephen Finlay ...Wilson saw his works talent...shame he didn't win tarmac championship in 1994.. to make it a double for Wilson with the British title...anyway a tremendous talent in mid 1990s @paddy Sullivan VHS 📼 1990s Cork

Stephen Finlay was an amazing driver for a 26 year old, and then he just dissapeared from the rallying scene.
