The Lurgan Park Rally celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2004 with a strong entry, which included former British Rally Champions, Jonny Milner and Mark Higgins. This upload covers all the Supercar heats and the final from the 1999 Ulster Rallycross Grand Prix at Nutts Corner. 1999 Cork 20 International Rally
มุมมอง 3.7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Ian Greer needed everything to go his way on the final round of the 1999 Irish Tarmac Championship and even a win wouldn't be enough to take the title if Bertie Fisher finished in the top 4. Fisher looked to be odds on favouite for a record equalling fifth Irish Tarmc Rally Championship title as he lay in a comfortable third position with the event entering the closing stages. However a minor l...

Stephen Finlay entered the final round of the 1994 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship as the undoubted favourite to take the title but 1991 Champion Kenny McKinstry still had a mathematical chance of glory. Finlay charged clear early on but left the road on Fuhiry stage in a frightening accident which saw the balance tip back in McKinstry's favour. McKinstry hung on to win the event leaving him ti...

Local favourite Andrew Nesbitt crashed out on stage 3.

Austin's Experience from 1980s..Came to full fruitful rewards in 1990s🎉@paddy 📼 1990s
Great upload 👍👍
Great to be seen these old rally’s again with the same music and interviews as the day they were shown on tv . Keep up the good work 👏🏻
such a shame this event no longer runs - time to bring it back as a historic event and dust off the Grp A cars!
Happy memories of great cars and drivers
If only we knew back then how Murphy financed his rally cars, helicopter and mansion. 😅
Not being part of the British Rally Championship since 1991..was a real hit on the entries...😢@paddy 📼 videos 1990s Cork

Wasn't there another time young fellas threw gravel on the road was it Mchale had a narrow escape
La mejor época la de grA y WRC, espectáculo asegurado.

Rally Barbados Was Part Of The NCAM Rally Championship
Thanks for uploading 👍👍👍
Hi is there any car meetings over Christmas or new year’s. 👍
The song from 1:00 to 3:30 for anyone who’s wondering, as I’ve spent ages looking for it: Faithless - Take The Long Way Home (Epic Mix)
Brilliant, can't beat the old stuff!
This is me when the Mrs text me at work if I want to pop home for some. 💨💨💨💨💨
Almost my closest dice with being hit! About 16 mins in! Now I know why I don’t film rallying anymore 😢
Was that the Bob Riddles moment?! Do you still have old tapes of coverage? We've an archive of old rally footage and always looking out for more tapes if you know anyone that has stuff.
@@OldSchoolNI No, I was working for RPM and they sold the archive to Motorsport Ireland.
@@jamiemiller7752 ah ok, yes it great seeing it all again. Good days they were
@MrWRC 15mins in
Compared to today’s wrc cars this is tame.
There were loads of wrc cars in the 90s and here in 2024 there is not 1 single wrc car on any rally in Ireland.
The club foot intro is perfect, RPM will forever be the absolute gold standard of rally coverage.
The 2000 championship did come easy to Andrew. Nobody had the technology to live with the 99 Impreza, and the support from Prodrive and Pirelli apart from Finlay in Killarney. It's a pity Frank and Ian didnt have their Focus and Corolla respectively from the start of the start of the season.
I remember that year and the snow. I was on the coms team, and we lost one of the coms cars in a ditch on the way to those Sligo stages. My standard Nova SR made it into the first stage and into position before the competitors arrived, just, I remember trying to stay in the middle of the road by looking out the side window. 29:30 shout out to Alan and Isaac, I remember how suprised we all were when you guys were so high up the leader board, like myself Alan and Isaac were NI Navigation Championship regulars. Long time no see, hope you are well.
Ahhh lads that tough mac impreza ❤️
I Remembered When The British Rally Championship And The Irish Rally Championship Were Going To Emerge To Create The Celtic Rally Championship
Have You Covered The 2001 Formula Rally Series?
Remember that well. Eugene was unreal in that corolla, the glory days of WRC's in Ireland. McGarrity and Boland turning up in new WRC's every other rally was always unreal to see. I hope whoever done that to Eugene got what was coming to them. That crap has no place in rallying. Great gesture by Derek to share it
OMG I do not remember that result despite my rally interest back then AND I from Cork!!! What a callus way for a rally to end!! A true sign of character of both men to share the win like that!! Thanks to everyone involved in bringing this back to our screens 👏🏻👏🏻😍
Did they ever find out who sabotaged Donnelly's rally? Clearly someone wanted Derek to win.
It was rumoured to be somebody holding a business grudge against Eugene unrelated to rallying if I recall. As much shenanigans that has gone on over the years in Irish rallying, no competitor or anybody who is involved in the sport would ever resort to those tactics to take out a rival.
@@arsebusquets2436 That's a good point and interesting info
Yes, I believe money and business related
Ralllllllllly when it was real
This is brilliant to see because in this year it went by my house in East Cork 🤯🤯 but didn't show it in camera 😂 so trying to make out the nearest part to my house 😊
Remember going to that rally like it was 5 years ago!! Great memories, sadly a few irish rallying legends from that no longer with us . Thanks for posting,a great season and right down to the wire for the championship !

Mark Higgins Was Actually Driving Neil Simpson's Corolla WRC
An end of an era rally in so many ways. Probably the last international where a Group A car had the abilty to win with no attrition. The start of the WRC arms race, with the first WRC Impreza debuted here, and of course the sad end to Fishers tarmac career in such a disappointing way.
Another great upload 👍👍
Thank you for posting this season lads I greatly enjoyed it and as im sure many others did too
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks folks. Great memories!
If you see so many wrc cars in an wrc event of today, you might be only on drugs
LOL at 14 minutes who is the Fuhrer ? Didnt know Hitler was in Ireland haha
