I use FL studio to record black metal. Although, I use a real guitar, a bass guitar sound that is faked by pitch shifting the guitar an octave lower, and a drum VST. And it actually sounds decent to me. In my opinion, the software you use to record isn’t what makes it sound good or bad. But rather the way you do that.
Very true. I've always made excuses that I don't have instruments so I couldn't make a rock album but this attempt has shown me that im capable if I try. It just never hit me that I could find free plugins out there that were capable of this type pf sound.

I'd rather not say the name of my black metal project on this account because I don't want this account connected to that project. Although, I'm currently working on a black metal related YTP that will include a song I made for it. So if you want to hear my music, I'd recommend watching that when it comes out (:
I've been mixing via headphones so I haven't heard the mix anywhere else, I over did the bass at first is lowered it & the snare was to dim so I brought I tup & brighten it but it was a bit too much
