Ok that combo with blue on the top is for sure the most series-accurate, it's just like how it looks in that lighting and probably what Lego should have gone for.
From a non-BTAS fan: After looking at some reference picture i think that black is definitely more accurate, but I much prefer the dark blue. We've had so many black Batmobiles, the blue is just nice and refreshing.
I think they should've done black with dark blue on some of the edges as highlights, I think that would set it apart but still remain the original aesthetic of the BTAS batmobile
Originally I thought this set would've been best in black. However, after seeing your combination of black with the top all in dark blue is amazing. You struck gold with that idea. It perfectly replicates the animation style and is now 100% the way that I'm gonna do mine. Honestly, it's how it should have been done.
Honestly i think blue really resembles the animated series batmobile and fits how it looks so well, even tho its supposed to be black, the blue version gives it so much more nostalgia
I thought I'd prefer it in black, but having finally got the set now that it went to a more reasonable price, I actually prefer the dark blue. Seeing it in hand it looks a lot darker than when I had only seen it in brightly lit studios
Thank you so, so much for building this model in black. It’s exactly what I was gonna do and now I’m even more excited to do so! You are THE BEST thank you!
I think both work with their own pros and cons. I like the blue, because it's different from every other Lego Batmobile, and BTAS is the only theme that can technically get away with it in this colour.
I wonder what it would look like if it was mainly black but highlighted by dark blue, just like in the show Edit: Thanks for showing this option, Ashnflash. I should've watched the whole video before leaving a comment.
The black looks really strange on its own, because it doesn't look how it looks in the cartoon. Its reminding of the BvS Batmobile set, that car is grey in the film and the set made it black and it's just odd. Yes the car is black in the shows canon, but the artstyle gives it those iconic blue highlights. The blue looks really nice to me, its different to the other Batmobiles and makes it stand out. However, the black with blue mixed in looks excellent and if i had the money i would probably do that. Looks really great.
Thankyou! Don’t know why TLG thought it would be a good idea to make it blue! 😂 06:49 yeah that’s kind of how they used orange bricks on the new Barad Dur LOTR set to nightlight the black tower and give the illusion of the eye and the lava glowing and casting light onto the tower!
Man, what you did here is amazing! I love the black one, I love the blue one, but I also love the combination build you did! Either way I’m just so excited to get this set in my hands on June 1!
All black looks very good, but the black and blue looks superb, I could see folk spending hours swapping out parts until they get the look they want, full marks for an excellent video!
Hmm that light trick with blue and black mixed is really working. The new Baraddur set has the same logic in the eye section, with black pieces of the tower flipped with browns.
I was talking with one of my friends who’s a massive Batman fan. He’s seen the Animated Series and he said it is in fact blue. I looked it up and it’s true, the Batmobile is actually blue so Lego is correct with the color. Now it did say there was some black shading as well.
the problem is lego needs more a darker blue closer to an indigo/black to make it more accurate the black is good but even the kenner toy was slightly grey
I believe this set was build as per original color of Batmobile in season 1 «Heart of ice episode”, with Mr.Freeze as an antagonist. So the blue color is totally correct, as in other episodes it is dark blue as well. But due to lack of light could feel like black. But you see original blue details or glance in every follow up episode
Does anyone else think it would be cool to see a batmobile in a really dark metallic red? It could be a reference to how the very first batmobile was just a red car
Personally I liked the choice to make it dark blue in the official set, it makes it unique and lets it stand out from all the other Batmobiles they ever made. But I gotta say it does look much more sleeker in pure black, it's such a great build and it looks better in black. Do LEGO not do variant sets? They could that for this, just duplicate the set, add a "-B" to the set's number or something and call it a different edition
Love what you did with the black version. Do you have a list of parts that you had to substitute which weren't avaialble in black? Nice builds! Thanks!
For your upcoming visit to the LEGO convention in Denmark, do you have what's prepared (i.e.: a better audio microphone, the missed content, and if they are going to make a Super Legacy set)?
I'm sorry, give me flack all you want, I prefer the blue. It matches the art style of BTAS more faithfully and its a nice shake up given that all the Batmobiles have been black. Nothing needs fixing here, whatsoever. Stop being so negative and cynical. Just be grateful that we got this fan favourite Batmobile at long last, for the sake of the designers at Lego who I'm sure work extremely hard to not only bring us great sets but to feed their families and pay their bills. It's not cool to say that "I could do this better than you" to get clicks. That's just being spiteful. So I advise that you be more thankful and lower your ego buddy.
NICE!! Been contemplating if I should do this. I have murdered out the Keaton & Bale Batmobiles and they look soo much better. Those ones are already mostly black tho
What do you think is better? Black or Blue?
BLACK
I think it should’ve been a mix of both, a really dark blue or black with blue highlights.
That combo one you made at the end is the best one
GREAT ASHNFLASH LEGO BATMAN 🦇 THE ANIMATION SERIES BATOMOBILE SET 👌 PERSONALITY BLACK COLOR.
cool in black
The mix with the blue acting as highlights for the black batmobile looked perfect
Agreed
I concur.
Yup
That's what I was really hoping for when it was announced.
Ok that combo with blue on the top is for sure the most series-accurate, it's just like how it looks in that lighting and probably what Lego should have gone for.
Should have if they cared anymore
From a non-BTAS fan: After looking at some reference picture i think that black is definitely more accurate, but I much prefer the dark blue. We've had so many black Batmobiles, the blue is just nice and refreshing.
For me the black with Blue Detailing looked perfect.
I watched BTAS reruns growing up, I prefer the blue.
The blue is cool because it’s different from all the other batmobiles but black is objectively better for btas
I think they should've done black with dark blue on some of the edges as highlights, I think that would set it apart but still remain the original aesthetic of the BTAS batmobile
Could’ve done blue with one of the million other Batmobile sets
The car is blue in BTAS. Literally every episode.
@@XxAramisxX when Alfred and Bruce literally refer to the Batmobile as a “black car” I’m pretty sure that means it’s black
@@XxAramisxXnope
The black just keeps it accurate to the series and it’s so well done
It's literally not accurate though
@@CarpetBanana Yes it is. The Batmobile isn't blue, and never has been. You don't understand what color highlights are?
@@hmssirius9343 it's literally seen as solid blue at times in the show
@@CarpetBanana The Batmobile is black. It's called out as black in the show. The blue is highlights.
@@muisverriet they could've called it red in the show and it would still be blue
Originally I thought this set would've been best in black. However, after seeing your combination of black with the top all in dark blue is amazing. You struck gold with that idea. It perfectly replicates the animation style and is now 100% the way that I'm gonna do mine. Honestly, it's how it should have been done.
The all-black look is perfection! And the blue&black combo looks really good, and something Lego could’ve made.
Not completely black or blue! The mix of both colors is the best option!!! Keeps it accurate to the animated series! WOW!!! O.O
6:02 that sound..
I honestly like the blue more, it's different and it makes it stand out more from the other LEGO batmobiles
Honestly i think blue really resembles the animated series batmobile and fits how it looks so well, even tho its supposed to be black, the blue version gives it so much more nostalgia

Oh it's PERFECT in black!!
That black and blue combo looks absolutely fire.
The blue and black combo is awesome
The mixing of black and blue was just beautiful
Thank you so, so much for building this model in black. It’s exactly what I was gonna do and now I’m even more excited to do so! You are THE BEST thank you!
It was way cooler than I imagined. Next to each other, it makes no sense why they made a dark blue one. Very cool, thanks, Ash
because it’s dark blue in the show lmao
I love the yellow brick headlights, gives it more realism.
Bro that Black Batmobile is just 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
I think both work with their own pros and cons.
I like the blue, because it's different from every other Lego Batmobile, and BTAS is the only theme that can technically get away with it in this colour.
This is exactly what I'm planning to do. Glad to hear the price isn't too far off.
For the lights at the front, you could maybe even trim off the dark blue on the stickers using a very fine blade
Honestly I like the blue version better. It really stands out in the sea of other Batmobiles
I am so happy he did this 😭
I wonder what it would look like if it was mainly black but highlighted by dark blue, just like in the show
Edit: Thanks for showing this option, Ashnflash. I should've watched the whole video before leaving a comment.
Awesome video ashnflash 😊

The mix with black and blue is the best, it just gives that animated artstyle vibe
The black and blue option is INCREDIBLE!!!
Man, what you did here is amazing! I love the black one, I love the blue one, but I also love the combination build you did! Either way I’m just so excited to get this set in my hands on June 1!
Love the sideways rounded pieces where the stud shooters go. Looks a lot better
Like the blue but the black on side with blue top makes it look more animated
All black looks very good, but the black and blue looks superb, I could see folk spending hours swapping out parts until they get the look they want, full marks for an excellent video!
That two-tone mix really looks nice. I think that's how I'll display mine
Honestly I think the perfect in between would be one that’s mostly black but has different blue parts around for highlights
Blue and black mix is perfect.
Excellent custom design for the black Batmobile!
Your Black/Blue combo is cool and kinda hints at the animation shading 👍🏻
Lego definitely should do blue on black for Bat vehicles from now on
That's chef's kiss right there
The combo color option looks pretty sweet. It looks more like the lighting in the animated series
Storm trooper!? I am boba fet
Could you try the Batman TAS season 4 Batmobile
Hmm that light trick with blue and black mixed is really working. The new Baraddur set has the same logic in the eye section, with black pieces of the tower flipped with browns.

Perfection... Great experimentation as we'll...
Picking this up tomorrow 😁 super hyped about it to finally have animated series figures and the batmobile is awesome too 😊
It would be cool if you made a red/pink design from Mask of the Phantasm!
the problem is lego needs more a darker blue closer to an indigo/black to make it more accurate the black is good but even the kenner toy was slightly grey
Great video, especially adding the clip from the batman animated series confirming the batmobile color is black and not dark blue!
Now that’s the BMAS, Great Job 🥳🥳🥳
It’s……………beautiful
Seeing them side by side definitely the blue one to set it apart
The combo one is really cool.
The mixture you should at the end (option 3) was the best!
The blue looks more like the original animated series, while the black reminds me more of The New Batman Adventures
The mix was nice.
I think the blue blends in way better in the style of the animated series
i like the hybrid of the two using the blue where the light touches and the black elsewhere
$60 for a blue TASM batmobile with stud shooters on top is crazy
ngl this looks so fire and would totally be down to doing this too! Great vid!
The blue top /black body mix is more authentic. Like from "Almost Got Him" . And matches his cowl coloring in the series.

The way i remember the vehicle was it rolling though the streets of Gotham and it would go from Dark Blue to Black as he passed street lights.
Why do your hands always be shakin?
He has a neurological condition he has explained in several past videos
@@connorquirbach7558 oh, what video did he mention it in?

Yessss!!! I’ve been waiting to see a MOC on how to improve this set! May consider using your own ways 👀
Excited to watch this :)
Hold the pages steady, Ash! That glare is killing me! 😂
7:08 is it just me or did he put the curved 1x1’s in the wrong direction on the side?
Ya. Whoops
“…he’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now…”
Have you a list to buying the black parts i will do the same with the car
I wish they had a darker blue color that was between that black and blue.
The grey 1x1 round pieces are aligned differently on the black version than the blue
Amalgamation was perfection
Love what you did with the black version. Do you have a list of parts that you had to substitute which weren't avaialble in black? Nice builds! Thanks!
Put a couple of blue bricks on it for cel shading also that’s why people think it’s blue is because of the cel shading it’s black
For your upcoming visit to the LEGO convention in Denmark, do you have what's prepared (i.e.: a better audio microphone, the missed content, and if they are going to make a Super Legacy set)?
Great job on the black one, I would have bought that version. The combi version is cool to, but would still get a pure black one.
Oh yeah the combo is nice
I love the blue better it’s different and the blue color pops more
I prefer the dark blue one, but they both look great!
How much were the replacement pieces in black?
The Way he already Build another one of These in a different Color before I can Even get my hands on a normal version of this set 🫣🥲😂🤣
awesome love it!
I like the black one did awesome there
my ideal set would have been black with stickers that have thin dark blue lines to help show the shape
We need a sliding mechanism for the door of the car/roof.
You have the part “6262085: PLATE 1X1X2/3, OUTSIDE BOW” wrong at the top of the blue one
Yeah, I noticed that too.
Disagree with you about the headlights being better as stickers. Your mod looks very nice! Very well done!
Honestly I really dig that blue colour. 🙂
I'm sorry, give me flack all you want, I prefer the blue. It matches the art style of BTAS more faithfully and its a nice shake up given that all the Batmobiles have been black.

Black , Nice custom !!
Look WAAAYYYYYY better in Black
NICE!! Been contemplating if I should do this. I have murdered out the Keaton & Bale Batmobiles and they look soo much better. Those ones are already mostly black tho
black and blue it looks great
Blue is better. When you have it in the shadow it looks black and blue but black just looks black
Aren't all the grey bricks in the hood on the blue one wrongly positioned..?
Where did you get the black one from?
