always learning somethin new and useful here... why do they usually use two coats (rough cast and smooth cast) instead of one and what would happen if you used only one coat?
good Day Lobsta112 great question sometime one coat of rough casting is used if they or going to use trowel on as a final coating or you can use rendering with a find grain sand called grant sand but I'm going to finish it with the rendering and then trowel on as the final coat

There is many different types of sand this sand that I used was wash. Its one of the best sand for casting
