i went in this place 3 weeks ago and like you i hate vandals love the vid by the way,my sons channel is northern decay you can see the change from between your visit and my visit keep it going m8 love out
I got married here in 1988, it was a fantastic hotel, it rivalled anything in Edinburgh/Glasgow etc and all the big name footballers dined there on a very regular basis as did David Murray and Graeme Souness etc. All the new houses weren’t there at the time, it was fields and the hotel grounds and the Country Club/Leisure Centre has been extended since ‘88. Such a shame to see it in this state of disrepair and vandalised.
Stephen McLeod had been neglecting Airth Castle long before COVID. I was a member of the leisure centre there and they were losing members long before COVID as things were breaking and wouldn’t get fixed, I left 2017 when my annual membership ran out after months of the steam room not working mostly down to a faulty door, the jacuzzi rarely worked, the showers were hit and Miss and the changing rooms left a lot to be desired. Bizarrely though he did give us brief hope when he replaced the sauna - they put in a cracking new one. Inside new and old buildings there were some stunning features but also a fair bit of neglect. I had a family dinner for my 21st in the Castle (that wasn’t yesterday!) and I was at a curling club function there either 2016 or2016. By the time of the latter it was very tired.Feeling amongst many locals was that SM was no longer interested in it as he had Glenbervie House and The Parsonage. It is so sad because it had so much potential and had been a lovely place in its day 😢
Its all about the money I was there at my cousins wedding in er around 1979 It is tragic but its all about house building and big profits Thanks for information its very interesting COVID has made a lot of things worse though especially in Catering and leisure Do you know the status of the place now , have they boarded it up properly yet?

We were there today and last wk. the difference is unreal.found a wee grave yard too
Its a real shame
You’re brave - it could be creepy in its hey day, no way I’d walk around it in its abandoned state. It is notoriously haunted.
Was full of teenagers , yes probably be scary at night
