Probably someone's already told you, but most of the Slappy books had the same formula. The first one had a different dummy as the main antagonist, but he did most of the same things. The dummy would be brought to life by some magic words (no origin, but meaning "You and I are one now") and the dummy would respond by playing pranks, speaking up on their own and insulting the people they were performing for to make it look like their owner was doing it, trashing their house, basically just doing mean things. Eventually, they'd finally speak up to the protagonist and tell them that they intended to enslave them and if they didn't do what they said, they'd do worse things. In the first book, as I stated, another dummy does this, and he tried to punish the twins trying to throw him away by attempting to strangle their dog, but he was eventually steamrolled. However, Slappy did belong to one of the twins, and the twist ending was him coming to life for the first time and asking if the other guy was gone. He was the main villain in the other books, apart from Slappy's Nightmare, where he was the villain protagonist who had to go against his nature and do three good deeds or be unable to come to life forever. It was a nice twist when Slappy was the one who kept having a child blame him, except this time, it really wasn't him.
EDIT: Hannah is a ghost. She was the protagonist from The Ghost Next Door, where there was an early twist. The twist was that the boy next door who she thought was a ghost was alive, and SHE was the ghost the entire time. She didn't quite put out a campfire behind her house and the whole family was killed. I know, pretty realistically dark for Goosebumps.

Your comment about the dance scene is spot on. My football team in high school was used as extras for this dance scene. We were there for hours dancing to nothing but a bass tone. Eventually Dylan Minnette asked the director if they could turn on some actual music for us to all dance to and they did! They played a few songs and all of us got to dance and let loose with the three main actors! They were very nice and down to Earth! It was a very fun experience getting to be a part of the filming of this movie.

As someone loved the book series growing up, this was a nice, fun Halloween movie, which I enjoy every year.

This movie means a lot to me. I was already a fan of Goosebumps when the film came out but it made my love for the franchise even greater than it was.
RL Stine said he was scared of lots of things as a kid, and that's why he started writing these books, to try and get over that fear.
Slappy is also the mascot of Goosebumps, though there were initially other mascots as well, such as Monster Blood and Curly the Skeleton.
I like how seb kept saying show the werewolf the moon which literally helps it like that was so funny
I completely forgot Jack Black was in this movie!
I definitely recommend watching the sequel, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

Really? Even if Jack black was ONLY there at the end of the movie? Even if the 3D is ugly? Even if the new kids are not interesting? The first one likes science and his friend is... there. Nothing about them is cute or funny 🙁None of the jokes made me laugh, Slappy was not as scary as before plus his plan was weird.
I had a hard time liking the sequel. This movie is good but Goosebumps 2 is not.

when i first saw this i kind of thought Hannah was a monster because there is a book titled "The Ghost Next Door" and the ghost name is Hannah. At first i thought they did this as an easter egg but when they revealed it in the story, I was like "Of course, the GHOST next door".

If you liked the actor who played Champ you'll definitley enjoy the movie Super 8 it's a really good sci-fi that has amazing graphics especially in certain key moments

I really think you should react to Blazing Saddles (1974) and many of the other Mel Brooks movies like Spaceballs or Young Frankenstein.
It's an absolutely hilarious classic spoof western and I'm 100 % sure that you'd love it and those other films like I and so many others do 😊

Slappy is actually pretty powerful he has many supernatural abilities
My 2 favorite parts are the scene where Stine says the thing about “Champion” and next second he’s like “Champion you coward” and my other favorite part is when Stine is like” GET THAT PHONE OUT OF MY FACE” and yes Slappy is voiced by the actor for R L Stine/Jack Black

This movie was actually good. I found Champ funny and it was fun recognizing the monsters and the actors. Jack Black-a phenomenal actor and Dylan Minnette from 13 Reasons Why.
Hannah is from The Ghost Next Door, and the Mantis is from a Shocker On Shock street and there were a few monsters I didn't recognize like the plants and clown. The plants are from You're Plant Food, and the clown is from A Nightmare On Clown Street.

I had so many books too when I first started secondary school I was obsessed and would often read 2 or 3 books a day. While I waited for the new books I'd re read the ones I had over and over
I like this adaptation of goosebumps. I’ve never read the books as a kid. 14:40 👏🏼 R.L’s numbers are high, like HIGH. 21:33 My dad died 3 years ago, and For the first year and a half I was “Depressed” 21:55 I didn’t remember that this song was a “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah” song.

Based on Paul Jennings' short stories, right? He had weird ideas. Even the funny stories had nightmare fuel, although the depressing ones did too. Kids, do not read the story "Burp" unless you want to hear about dogs and people dying of obesity.
