Wait I'm listening to this in 2020 and their shade on Hobby Lobby at 9:53 was so ahead of its time, because the people who own that company are terrible people who treat their employees like garbage lmao
I've got a little Hobby Lobby story for ya. I worked as a cashier at Hobby Lobby for a month during COVID before the vaccine and it was the most miserable experience of my life. On my second day, I had to process $500 worth of returns of the ugliest Christmas merch from this entitled woman and it took half an hour, and the woman had the GALL to say that I counted her merch wrong and she should've gotten whatever amount of money back. All the stuff was 50% off and Hobby Lobby doesn't believe in barcodes because it's like, the sign of the beast or whatever, so I had to count it all by hand. On my SECOND DAY. I was about to scream as she shoved her stupid pink phone in my face to show me her failed math. Thankfully, the assistant manager said that he could re-count everything with the woman, since the returns line was piling up and a ton of people were waiting. Turns out the lady counted wrong and I was right.
I also got yelled at by a woman who argued that a mug and a globe should've been 50% off even though that week, wall decor was 50% off. You're gonna put a mug on a wall??? Huh??? How are you gonna drink out of that if it's on the wall, IDIOT???
I was able to escape the purgatory that is Hobby Lobby by getting a hernia in my spine that prevented me from standing without being in pain. Still have the hernia three years later, but it's getting better. Legitimately, cashiers in all stores deserve to sit down. Standing in one place for an extended time is not good for anyone. (I even told the hiring manager that I've had spinal issues since I was a teenager and that I can't lift over 20 pounds as per doctor orders, and they said it was fine until it came time for me to sign papers and they said I can't be hired if I can't lift at least 40 pounds.)
There's this quote in the Castlevania animated series where the bishop encounters a demon and says that the demon can't come inside the church, as it is a holy site. The demon replies with something along the lines of "Your God is not here. This is just an empty box." and Hobby Lobby was my empty, Godless box. The heads preach Christianity but in reality, Hobby Lobby is the secret tenth circle of Hell.
