    The main difference, i think, is the boat traffic. There use to be 500 ton coasters taking fuel to Gloucester and the 100 ton grain barges frequently traversing the canal. They battered the fish, hence the stayed small except of a few sheltered areas. It also use to be dredged to 15 ft right through.
    Now those big 12 foot boats are no longer in use, the canal is not dredged and has also shallowed up. This has allowed the fish to grow and multiply. There use to good head of chub years ago.

There’s a lot of species not there now because of the zander problem. Not sure what the situation is with the zander now a days?? But yeah you can have a great days fishing for bream which it renowned for…great video des…nice to see you fish somewhere I’ve fished!!

    That reminds me of the South Yorkshire Navigation canal, wide and deep and loads of silvers. Might have to take some inspiration here and have a day there on the feeder soon!

      That used to be my local venue. Drop in at the edge and it was 9 or 10 feet deep. Relatively featureless water but as you say, great for silver fish. Used to catch some lovely Gudgeon.

    Hi Des, is that stretch of the canal on day ticket or is it club run?

    Hi Des what's the difference between the SL and the Sentient?

    • @Sonubaits
      @Sonubaits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrew, the Supera SL's have a softer action throughout the rod. Very soft and forgiving, not big casting rods but superb for short/medium chucks.
      The Ascention range is close in action to what the older Sentient rods were 👌🏼
