It is not a setback. If you are interested in food technology, you will develop interest in its study. As I mentioned in the video, B.Tech is not all about biology or maths or chemistry. It is a blend of both. You'll be studying about food and take the biology or maths is different (and in some cases easier) when compared to what you study in school.

My question might be silly. But i really need some help. I completed my inter 2nd year (12th) MPC. During this quarantine i started cooking and felt it in my heart,the love for cooking. I really love cooking and eating food. Cooking became my passion and my stress buster. I should now start choosing my future career. So I came across BTech in food technology. I know my love for food got me to choose this. But my heart says yes, I get the feel good vibes and i want pursue it. But my parents and sisters are saying it isn't a good option. I don't want to spoil my future by taking wrong steps. Can I opt this? Plss answer . I need some serious advice?
First of all, please understand that cooking is not food technology. In food technology, you won't be 'cooking' food at all. Food technology is about the production of food in a food plant or factory and the experience is way too different than cooking.

If you are ready to deal with all the hardships and pain, if you are ready to deal with low salary package in the beginning, if you want to pursue this branch cos you love the branch and money is secondary then go for it. Many people at the end of graduation lose hope when they struggle with jobs that's why I would recommend choosing wisely if you are ready to deal with all that (if that happens).
Yes you can go for civil exam after any graduation. If the ultimate goal is to go for civil exam then choose any branch and not specifically food technology.

@@anshuldang5878 chemical engineering is lightly connected with food engineering. These are separate branches and should not be confused with one another. As a chemical engineer, you might get a job in the food industry but chemical engineering is different from food engineering.

Prepare for CFTRI. You can pursue Msc in Food Science from Punjab University, Pondicherry University.
