Jonny, Thanks so much for the recognition. I couldn't have done it with out going to your class. I could never get the cells to pop like that and just a little help and guidance from you and it worked. Loved the class and all the people I met there with the same interest in Fluid Art. Can't beat the teacher wanting to copy my painting. A story I can tell for a long time :) Keep up the great videos.
Try to add a humidifier in the room you are working in. Adding humidity to the air “may” help with the cracking by adding moisture to your environment. It may take some “tweaking” of how much humidity to add or how long it needs to be on. But, it’s worth a shot ❤. I paint in a basement that is finished with walls, floors ect. and has too much humidity. So I run my De-humidifier….. It works great. Maybe the opposite will work for you.? I truly hope it does 🥰
That might have been my problem with my last painting then. I have never had a paint crack or anything and I thought either too much paint or too cold of an area that my paint was by.
Love the colors… you once again inspired me today. I will be playing with similar colors for my chameleon cell painting today🤩🤩. So enjoyed learning this technic in you class last weekend in Phoenix. I now have the confidence in using this design methods in my pours💝👍🏻
I`m watching from Australia, I`m just beginning my journey with acrylic paints, you are my inspiration, love how your colors flow so nicely, would you be doing a Phoenix in the future, I`d love to see that 😊
This style of art reminds me of petroglyphs you might find in some of the desert caves. I love that color combination and I am not usually drawn to bright colors.
Johnny, I love this! It is beautiful!! Maybe you can add moisture to the air in the room you are drying your blooms in. It will stop the top layer of paint from drying to quickly. I am sorry about your eye! Maybe you got something in it while you were sleeping and rubbed to hard.
I asked the same question about the cell activator cracking, the advice from Smart art courses was cover with a box and add a big cup of water. I am going to add ice to the water too. Happy blooming. 🤯
Beautiful! I love your cells. I got the hair serum today. I have been following you for several months now. & can't wait to try this! Try a cheap vaporizer in the room where you dry your paintings. I just wouldn't have it blowing directly on the artwork.
I live in Jacksonville Fl, it's hot and humid. I have noticed that when I leave my coasters either in the sun or just when it's in the 90's I do get cracks. It happens on canvas too, not just my coasters.
I’m in Queensland Australia. Humidity is wicked here both dry and wet try a small bar fridge and keep a few days, might help or don’t use a air conditioner it will suck any moisture out of your room.
Maybe try a dehumidifier. That might help 😊 What would happen if you just created cells in the centre then spun it a little? It would be interesting to see 😁 Love your work 🤩
I can relate to your eye issue, I just spent 6 weeks and 8 doctor visits getting my eye fixed. I had a ruptured cyst in my right eyelid, followed by a massive infection, and then cosmetic surgery to get my eyelid repaired.
Your painting is great! Your student's palette is vibrant like springtime. Purple and yellow remind me of irises. That green was a surprise! I wonder why the blue from the purple was so dominant there; it was definitely purple. It was perfect. I hope your eye is going to be okay! Did you draw an eye on the patch they put on in the ER? (I'm a child, sue me. And yes, I've done that...) I had success with your (before I bought my first bottle of Australian Floetrol) CA recipe - did you try that one as well? (I'm in CT - humid summers - but still had good luck and thought I'd mention it.) This recipe, for anyone who hasn't downloaded it, is from "J Mo Painting Acrylic Pouring Recipes" which I downloaded in 2021. Link in the description box above. American Floetrol, Amsterdam paint, and Minwax wood conditioner mixed at a 3 parts floetrol to 1 part Amsterdam paint to 3-6 drops of Minwax wood conditioner.
Hey Johnny this is Jillybird. I live here in Phoenix. I was thinking maybe if you mixed your paint with a gel gloss medium and water, maybe that would help with the cracking?
I am very much a begginer with all of this painting. Would you tell us what kind of varnish you use at the end and how you apply it? Please? I absolutely love to watch you paint more than any others I have watched! Thank you!
I’m brand new , well, so new I haven’t even tried my first canvas yet! But I would think that if it’s cracking you’ve got too much activator in it! Or the wrong activator in the first place! Like I’ve stated I haven’t even started yet! I hope my input helps you with your solution! Thank you so much for sharing your videos and your tutorial’s
Hi Jmo. I’ve had similar problems being in a year-round summer but with humidity. I always have to rush because it starts drying as I work. Do you use a humidifier? Might help. Love your art . You’re the king of chameleon cells!
I am also wondering about the role of Golden Open acrylics . I don’t know.. maybe in blooms for a cell activator and maybe using these in pearl pours .. if you explore these I would be curious to see if they could make a difference somehow since they slow dry
Looks like a great mosaic. You might try just adding a vaporizer to your room. That should raise the humidity enough so it doesn't dry too fast. So sorry to hear about your eye. You were greatly missed.
Pricilla Batzel expressionist fluid coloured art Affiliate says in her videos that she adds GAC 800 to her paints when mixing them to stop the cracking ok. Your paintings always look gorgeous 🥰👍 Leanne l am in NSW Australia 🥰👍
PROBLEM WITH DRYNESS: Get a humidifier for your art room. Adjust your vents for the ac in your room as well. AC dried out the air so you need to add humidity. You should have a humidifier in your home too. I lived in Phoenix and saw a doc for something and he told me to put a humidifier in my apartment to help sinus troubles. HOPE THAT HELPS YOU. LET ME KNOW. :) God bless you
Regarding cracks in Phx Az… I do not use PPG ( I use glidden instead here which is thinner ). I also had to take out fast drying products such as poly acrylic snd use only josanya gloss . Additionally each of the thick is a little thinner than most blooms to counter the dry heat . The big difference was taking poly acrylic out and not using PPG. I got the idea of the tyle if Glidden from Winterstrom who lived in the west . I realize she is where there is humidity but still other products and changes due to to it iare the same in Az and CA. Last … I don’t do pours with any thick paints until about now and stop by end of May. . Even moving indoors to paint during that time there is a crack risk . The air conditioning just pulled in the dry air . I had also tried adding GAC to counter but that just was not enough .
HELP, PLEASE! I've tried to make cells like this and nothing! Am i leaving the pour too thick? I dont know. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!❤
Hi everyone, can anybody tell me what coconut oil you’re using because I’m ( vatika coconut multivitamin hair oil , and I’m not making cells 😢 can anyone help? Thank you x

Enjoy the respect you receive today and tomorrow. Thank you for your service
You never dissappoint, thank you. I'm learning a lot from you,💕
Love the colour combo ❤❤
Beautiful colors!!! Love that southwest feel! Gorgeous! 😍
Always good to see grade school color theory being useful
I love how much green you got in the mix with the purple, orange, and yellow. It’s magical!
Another winner absolutely gorgeous work 👏 👏 👏
Beautiful color palette. Turned out beautiful!❤

I came to offer the same suggestion! 😊
That might have been my problem with my last painting then. I have never had a paint crack or anything and I thought either too much paint or too cold of an area that my paint was by.
I would also check the optimum humidity % for drying acrylics and set the humidifier to that %.
Welcome to Arizona! We do have the most beautiful sunsets ❣
That was amazing. I’m going to definitely try that one. Thank you so much
Hi from the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa!

Oh this is stunning! You should try like, a starburst pattern, or something!
I`m watching from Australia, I`m just beginning my journey with acrylic paints, you are my inspiration, love how your colors flow so nicely, would you be doing a Phoenix in the future, I`d love to see that 😊
Awesome colors!

Hello from Liverpool in England 🏴
Thanks 🫣 …….. happy new year from Munich 🥰
Love your work. I’m from Western Australia 😊

Beautiful work J Mo.
Incredible cells with the smaller dotting tool ❤
Very cool!
Jordan's was cool also. The class was so worth the money, you taught us so much. Thanks!
Hope your eye feels better!
Fabulous
This is really cool. You have come a long way! From Daytona Beach
Awesome
BTW! I adore you and your work! Definitely amazing at what you do! Your story is very inspiring 🥰. I am a fluid artist from Buffalo NY!
Beautiful! I love your cells.

Hey j~moe..
That's really koolio...
🎨 😎👍
So00 simple...
It l00ks so0°• g00d.
😎👍
I use a hothouse to dry paintings in that way the air not dragging the moisture out to quickly, has worked great for me
Maybe try a dehumidifier. That might help 😊

Add moisture too the drying area should reduce the cracking xxx
I'm watching from Bellingham, Washington very top northwest corner of the United States

Im from California but currently reside in the north of the UK
Love watching you create! So inspiring. Is your spinner in a tray?
Who else lives in AZ that does blooms? There must be some…
V good
Did you ever figure out what caused the cell activator cracking? I really enjoy your content and the way you explain things. from Vermont

The heat here kills everything. I have a shop behind my house for crafs and It is climet controlled. I don't let any thing stay out side. 😊

Do you add the silicone to your colors or after you lay the paint out?
Looks like a slot canyon.
If you made a small V shape with the dotting tool instead of a dot, would it create a dragon scale effect?
So is this all only acrylic paint or is the white a different substance that causes the "cell" effect?? I would love to try this...
Could you do a video on sealing your art 😊
Maybe you should humidify a small space for drying? (An incubator?) I don't paint and i don't live in AZ, sooo... 🙂

Try a humidifier, if that's doesn't work , use a dehumidifier in the room. Good luck.
I'm in Washington and having cracking but I think it's the change in temperature it's really cold now at night
Was silicone oil in that kind of pen?

What does the coconut oil do?? I'm from New Zealand.
Try lightly misting both sides of the canvas? Have no idea if it will help… just an idea
What activator did you use
A humidifier in the room?
Hi can you please tell me what is the closest other coconut milk hair syrum to OGX thanks
HELP, PLEASE! I've tried to make cells like this and nothing! Am i leaving the pour too thick? I dont know. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!❤
Australia
Hi everyone, can anybody tell me what coconut oil you’re using because I’m ( vatika coconut multivitamin hair oil , and I’m not making cells 😢 can anyone help? Thank you x
Some people are having that same problem if they’re using water instead of another medium.
It looks like corn
Hey..... Have you tried to ad a retarder, it slows the whole process of drying down and avoids the cracking!!!
we can't find coconut in France too bad
I kind of like them cracked
Thin out your paints before adding your cell activator
Hope you are feeling better. Eye irritation, tears and holes really hurt.
Your paint is still to thick on your canvases and it's drying to fast on the top. Try lifting the canvas so more air can get to the bottom layers of paint.
Man Phoenix is so dry rightnow.
