The original tactical sport was perfect, I wish they never switched to the tac sport 2, it's much different than what I was used to wearing for 12 years.

I have a pair that's 15 yrs old. Just ordered and received the new pair today. I've never had a pair of boots last longer. From redwing, setters and wolverine work boots. These are great.

@mitchbeley1 They actually make the original tactical sport again as a Walmart exclusive. Bates merged with Wolverine, the same warranty applies, you have to go through Wolverine to warranty the boots. Wolverine, unlike bates, does not require you to cut the tongues of the boots to warranty them. I just received a pair of the bates tactical sport 8" side zips and they're awesome, I hated the tac sport 2s, I had 3 pair. I only get 4-5 months out of a pair.

I've worn the tactical sport 2 for the last two months, and I'll say i'm satisfied. A similar comfort level to the original. I personally think the second is more true to size.
