Two corrections.
1) At that time, Chandargupt Morya was just comming up and was not the king.
2) 4:02 , The statement that Alexander won the battle is not correct. History at that time was written by historians who were with Alexander. Indian sources from that time are mostly mum on this. Consequent action by both parties indicate that Porous won the battle.
Absolutely right, all that history record is one sided.

Porus full name was purshottam it's comman name in India even it's my father name Porus was Greek pronunciation that's why nobody name his kid Porus but they name purushottom.

Great episode Aftab Sb but there was one mistake I wanted to talk about. It is that Alexander never met Chandragupta and he had died long before Chandragupta founded the mauryan empire.

Aftab sb. Please do a discussion on Ottoman Sultan: Mehmed II. He was the one who conquered Constantinople. With reference of hit Netflix series Rise of Empires: Ottoman.
I am not sure why did the Turks turn a Church into a Mosque in Constantinople. Please see verse 22:40 where places of worship are to be guarded and not invaded.
The Turks also kidnapped Christian kids and raised them up as Muslims for their Janisar brigade so this brigade would only be loyal to the Sultan! Where does Islam allow this kind of cruel practice?

I would like to add that history as we know is the Greek version and the Greek version confirms that Porus was given back his land and even extra territory plus elephants and horses and other things with full respect which clearly means that Porus won the battle.
How can Porus be 'given back' anything if he had actually won the battle?

King Puru's actual name was PURUSHOTTAM, it means best among all men. His short name or nick name was Puru and Greek used to call him Porus (don't know why).

We were told in School that Alexander was great because he conquered the world. This is wrong because he did not enter Europe nor Present India (Bharat), nor China. What he conquered was already conquered by the Achaemenid Persians which was the first largest Empire of the world that lasted for two and a half centuries. Alexander only added his home land to the Persian empire. He was not a Greek but Macedonian who were looked down upon by the Greeks as uncivilized farmers. His Father Philips was killed by his own body-guard. Alexander began his reign by murdering his cousins, Princesses burnt alive, Commander, step mother, their daughters, grandchildren, all put to death. His conquers and destructions started from Greece, the city of Thebes was razed to the ground, all its men were killed and women and children were enslaved. Alexander burned the capital city of Persipolis of the Persian Empire. He even butchered every living soul in the town of Greek settlers in Afghanistan. Worst of all, Alexander personally slew the man who had saved his life at Granicus in the first battle with Persians. He also killed nephew of his great teacher Aristotle. He killed his general Philotas and his father, Parmenio.
Although it took hardly one year to conquer the rest of the lands, it took him three years to submit the people of Afghanistan. His wounds and defeat in Afghanistan are rarely mentioned in most of the books. All his life he was fighting and he never ruled. He could not reach back his home. He was a great drunkard which was probably the cause of his early death. Alexander’s Empire was torn into pieces as soon as he died. Whether he was Great or not, a Hero or a Villain, reader can decide.
You are right my dear, the name Afghanistan was not there but the people called as Paktyan by Herodotus 430 B.C. and as Ashvakan in Rigvida were the ancesters of present day Pakhtuns or Afghans and the land was called ‘ARIANA’ that extended from Kerman in present Iran to River Indus. This land Ariana is also mentioned by Romans as land between Persia and India. East of Indus was considered as India in classical times till the advent of the British. @sam padhi Birth place of Zartusht was BALKH (Bactra) in present Afghanistan and its language was not Persian but Avistan. Pashto, Bactrian and Avastan are regarded as Eastern Iranic languages. I do agree that most Eastern Afghans followed Hinduism.

Please note that Chandra Gupta Maurya was not a King during Alexander's time. It was Emperor Dhana Nanda in Patliputra. Chandra Gupta was a young boy.
Porus' actual name was Purushottam. This is a common name in India.

Sir, just a small correction, When Alexander came to India in 326 BC,the Maurayas were not the rulers of Mahadha.
It was still under the Nanda dynasty, and Dhananda , the last ruler of this dynasty was the emperor.
It was Dhananda, whom Chandragupta Maurya defeated in 324 BC ( two years after Alexander's invasion) and established Mauryan empire.
Also, Mahadha was not saved from Alexander, rather Alexander was saved from Magadhas wrath. At that time, the Magadhan army is said to have 9k war elephants, 20K cavalry and 6lakhs infantry ( as per historical sources)

Bamboo kaman - Indian used to use 7 feet long bamboo bows with Iron arrow head. Iron Arrow head could easily pierced through Greek Bronze armours. Indian used to use toxic arrows. one of which affected Alexander himself.
