Reminds me of another video on TH-cam of a flood at the Kahala Mall in Honolulu, Hawaii in about 2006 - there's a stairway looking just like this, like a waterfall. Only there, it was entirely indoors. The flood there first broke in through a movie theater and spread throughout the entire mall.
Devarrrrrrr! It's so hard to believe this happened in Perth. I don't think I've ever seen rain this bad here. Kinda demonstrates how unprepared we are..
Hahaha, I would have been walking down Murray St around the time you took this. My work got evactuated and I had to walk through forrest chase twice because there was no way for me to get home! The stairs remind me of Titanic (movie).
That wasn't so much storm damage as a massive loss of power supply... Most of the city lost power for a week, but the storm itself wasn't actually that bad (it reflected the poor state of power architecture at the time).
i like how the water is crystal clear, any other city and that water would be hell dirty!

In 17 years in Perth, I've never experienced this much widespread flloding or large hail. Or floodwaters going down an escalator.
Good video, I love thunderstorms :)
What device was this recorded on? Looks like a Flip?
Was a Nokia N93i
I wish one of these came around once a year. Something to spruce up the year.

Love how everyone is walking through the water like it was never there haha.
I was so disappointed when you didn't walk a little further down the stairs, into that place. I wanted to see where the water was heading.
hey! this is our biggest storm we have had in 50 yrs
Reminds me of the Day After Tomorrow... when New York is flooding.
