One subtle detail I love about Viktor's run are the boats in the background. In his flashback he was outpaced by his toy boat he built but in the present he runs past them.

The scene at the beginning where you said you don't think Silco cares, is the exact scene where beyond any doubt you realize he cares more than anything. The fact he has to muscleheads along with him, and he won't let anyone else near Jinx when he picks her up from the bridge and carries her himself shows how much he cares... I didn't catch it the first watchthrough either, but it is such a great detail.
Personally, I think Silco truly loves Jinx and wants to be a good father to her, but he is so broken inside he just isn't capable of it. He isn't healthy enough inside to raise a healthy daughter
I love the Vi/Jayce fight. We were waiting all season for an epic hextech fight and the music and visuals get you so hyped only to have it quickly shock you with a murdered kid. The show does a really good job of making you feel the cost of war. I don't generally feel distraught after an epic fight scene, but I certainly did after seeing that kid hit the ground.
The Viktor running scene gets me every time. Someone mentioned if that was the first time Viktor has ever experienced that and it makes the scene hit even harder for me. Truly one of the most memorable scenes for me.
I think Silco truly loves Jinx. But their relationship is super toxic because they're both broken people. Silco trusts Jinx a lot. She's injecting drugs in his eye every day. He also opened up about his own insecurities and trauma (multiple times, Jinx already knew the story). Jinx also creates a lot of problems for Silco. Sevika makes it very clear that everybody is fed up with Jinx. Finn, the chembaron with the tattoos, is also very vocal about this. While it's true that it ultimately helped his cause, her terrorist attack on Piltover is also creating a lot headaches for him. What Silco frears the most is losing Jinx. He has nobody else in his life.
It's objectively true and it bothers me when reactors don't see it. It's not healthy but they're all either of them has as far as they know. He's not a 1-dimensional cartoon villain, he's a complex character. Silco loves Jinx as much as he's capable of loving anyone. She's the one person he fears losing. He's not just using her. In their first scene in episode 4, Silco rips Sevika a new one but is patient and understanding with Jinx despite the screw up being her fault. He sympathizes with and helps her heal her past trauma in episode 5. He runs roughshod over the Chembarons and in the very next scene takes her abuse while she jabs him with the needle. It should all be made overtly clear in the final episode but every indication so far points to the fact that he truly does care for and love Jinx as a daughter.
That cliffhanger is probably the scariest ive seen in any media. Just wild how scared you get when you know how dangerous and unhinged Jinx is and you fall for Cait's character. Like F * C K NO! She was WAITING for her to finish showering. Christ.
The thing that gets me about he scene where Viktor runs along the dock is that as a child he wasn't able to catch the boat because he was crippled. Now he's running and overtaking the boats in the background.
The transitions and cliffhanger endings are one of the most amazing and most lethal parts of the show. They kill us all. I think what drew me in the most were the relationships. They're real, and most are messy, jagged, and difficult. Romantic and Platonic, both have their flaws created by the people included having real shortcomings and personal issues. Silco is afraid to love after losing so much with those he did. Jinx craves love, it's all she's ever really wanted. Vi feels unworthy of giving or receiving love, she's a protector and a failed one at that. All these characters have internalized beliefs that require them to sit down, look each other in the eye and be HONEST with themselves and each other to work though. Understanding their perspectives and seeing how close they are to true connections makes so many small moments of the show both rays of joyous sunshine or crashing waves of tears.
Jayce: "You didn't say he was from the undercity. They're dangerous!" Viktor: "I'm from the undercity. What does that make me?" Next episode: Viktor disintegrates his own assistant.
12:10 _"And then a real monster showed up.... and I just ran away"_ So many ways to interpret that line. On the one hand, the monster could be Silco... except Vi _didn't_ run away - Marcus nabbed her. Another meaning is that *_Powder_* - and her destructiveness - was the monster. Or thirdly, *_Vi_* was the monster for striking her own sister when Powder was no doubt terrified and horrified after realising what she had done.
I think that, while Vi definitely blames herself for things that aren't her fault sometimes, she is never _delusional_ about it, so the last one makes the most sense based on what's been established about her character. She made the decision to leave Powder after she looked at her hands and decided she shouldn't physically hurt Powder - that it was inherently wrong on a moral level, if not personal - and that putting space between the two of them was the only was to keep that from happening. She only ever attributes Marcus's interference as the reason she wasn't able to go back for Powder, not the reason she disappeared in the first place. The only reason there are other interpretations that also work fairly well is because of the parallels to other relationships in the show, from Vander and Silco to Piltover and Zaun.
Or fourthly, death. The death of everything the sisters loved reared its head, and Vi could only see Wolf and not Lamb (the Kindred is runeterras reaper-like entity and consisted of wolf and lamb). Or fifthly, Jinx showed up. The first incarnation of the bundle of absolute chaos appear inside Powder was the monster, she was it's host, and Vi can't target something inside a loved one with her fists. So many beautiful ways to interpret it.
19:33 when you say you feel conflicted, you can only imagine how Jayce must be feeling like. I agree he is privileged. I also think he's naive and good hearted, which is a dangerous combination when dealing with manipulative people like the council. I believe every action he's taken so far (even though some of them might've been controversial), has been taken with good intentions in mind. So yeah, Jayce is a complex character, maybe the most complex due to how important his every decisions' consequences are and that's why I cut him some slack
It's nice to see a reactor who actually gets how much of a negative influence Vi actually is on the course of events. She pushes violence at every turn. As a kid she pushed against Vander and wanted violent rebellion and when Kate has the council listening finally and talking about maybe making some kind of peace with Silco she blows it up and gets them kicked out because she is more concerned with getting back at Silco than with what is best for both cities. Don't get me wrong, SIlco isn't a good leader for the undercity, but it's better than open war.
@@ericsanford536 I kind of get Vi’s perspective though, even if I’m frustrated with this turn of events - I think she just feels like doing nothing isn’t helping the situation and it certainly won’t bring Powder back :/ She’s been fighting her whole life and I think a lot of her self worth is tied to trying to save others, so when she isn’t successful or isn’t making moves in ANY direction, it messes with her self esteem :( I think she’s between a rock and hard place at this point but I also feel she is one of the most empathetic and emotional characters in this show
@@sailorkaylax Oh VI means well. She's not a villian by any means. It's just that her motivations are entirely self-centered (extending self to immediate family). She cares about saving the people she directly cares about to the exclusion of ALL else, and that leads to extremely destructive behavior and makes it hard for her, not only to make peace, but even to allow peace to be made. She's damaged, like most of the people in this show. Even Silco, as evil as he is, legitimately wants to make Zaun 'better' as he sees it, Vi just wants to help Vi and the people she considers family/loved ones.
Just wait till season 2 😂 Not gonna lie, I like the moments when you’re watching and then briefly look at the camera. Don’t know if you noticed yourself doing that. It’s kinda cute. Excited for you to finish the first season!
Ekko is my favorite character, man is a kind-hearted badass which is always a soft spot for me. Jinx is right there with him though. Both of their scenes are the best in the series.
Regarding Silco's feelings about Jinx...you're not entirely wrong but think about it like this, Silco has his own deep seeded abandonment and betrayal issues, is trying to free Zaun from Piltover's unfair governance AND, has no clue on how to even be a father figure. I believe he truly loves Jinx as a daughter AND he values her as a strong "weapon" in his fight against Piltover...both can be true. I believe his intentions are good, he just isn't the best influence on her which leads to the toxic relationship they share.
To be fair to Vi, was the raid a bad idea, yea. But she didnt really expect Jayce to kill a child. The bigger mistake was probably bringing Jayce who has no idea how to fight tbh. I really like the lines she has at the beginning of ep. 9. OK NOT THE FIRST ONES but the "youve always been a part of this" hits hard. I get that Jayce wasnt in a position to fix things until he became counselor but just like Caitlyn he didnt even know 5% of how bad it is down in the undercity. Cait acknowledged this and even gave up her gun perhapse because she felt unworthy (given the whole "what are you shooting for scene") its safe to say Cait realized she isn't actually protecting people. Love the reactions! They are great and its awesome to see someone experience this show for the first time.

But also… who put those kids to work in this shimmer making facility? 🫠 that’s what is so frustrating about what Silco is doing imo. It’s just awful.
One thing that didn't click for me at first is that Viktor only cures his crippled leg at first. So when it works he rushes to cure his disease. That's why he is so desperate. I had assumed he was addicted.
Mel having mommy issues is a credit to her. Please notice that the paiting Jayce was complimenting was based on her memories of the prisoner princess' beheading. And if you think this cliffhanger is bad, wait one measly episode. Knowing that it'd be years before it got resolved.
I know it probably gets repetitive after a bit, but this is such an important thing for the experience of watching this show that I'll say it anyway: The ending of episode 9 is not a cliffhanger. It sets up some of the conflicts for season 2, but all of the character arcs of season 1 are wrapped up in Episode 9 just fine, such that it's a pretty good self-contained story.
I wonder If your opinion on silco has changed. I find it somewhat difficult to figure out what to say with the knowledge that you are ahead of the show on patreon but I digress. I think i'll just go with Vi betray's Jinx to the council in this episode. She's lied to Jinx alot although not by intention but by choice when push comes to shove. example: Episode 6: you can fire that thing if you want to but im not going anywhere im not going to abandon you again. Episode 7: *Jinx Fires* *Vi leaves with caitlyn* (an enforcer again, but this time its her choice to do so)

I recognize his motivations ultimately are for liberation of Zaun but the way he’s doing it (or did it, rather) I can’t get behind no matter how much he loves Jinx :/

You need to have a little more empathy towards characters that you might be inclined to be prejudiced towards because of your beliefs & moral standing. I absolutely understand why you hate him but it's also not fair to write him off as a malevolent father figure who doesn't care about his daughter but her aptitude to aid his cause. And I will disagree that Jin'x's bond with VI is stronger, it will be more apparent, who's bond was stronger in the last episode I think

@ 100%! I agree he is manipulating her, & more often than not, loved ones manipulate each other under the guise of altruism & love. In Silco’s case, although he’s manipulating her for his cause because the priority is Zaun, believe it or not, he does see Zaun in Jinx. Silco doesn’t judge her for being erratic & unhinged, yet VI is not accepting of her sister, even under the banner of love she still judges her for being different and sees her only as powder. Disregarding her Jinx persona, albeit it is destructive. Again I say that from the nuances of the previous episodes but the last episode will solidify what I said, especially how Vi perceives Jinx.
@@PrestigiousConman I get what you’re saying, but I think this is a little unfair. Silco can more easily accept jinx (if you wanna say that) because he had a hand in creating her. He also got to see the progression from powder to jinx in all those years vi was locked away in prison, it’s not such a dramatic turnover for him. The only thing vi had to hold onto was the memory of powder and the hope of one day reuniting with her, it’s what kept her going through everything. It’s not surprising to me that she found the change harder to adjust to because of that Imagine coming back after so long and finding out your sister has been taken in by and is working under the man who is responsible for so much of you and your family’s suffering. If that wasn’t bad enough, she’s also adopted the demeaning nickname you immediately regretted giving to her and has started identifying under that persona. On top of ALL of that, she’s now a literal murderer who is responsible for causing so much chaos and destruction. I think that combination would be a hard pill to swallow for anybody, let alone in such a short time period and silco is guilty of the same exact thing but flipped. He encourages jinx to abandon powder and attempts to distance her from reminders of her old life and who she once was. The biggest factor in that is vi, who he immediately tries to kill again when he finds out that she’s still alive

Also Jinx got to see Caitlyn's 🧁 🧁 before Vi did Also just some context on Ambessa and Noxus Noxus as a nation can be slightly hard to explain. Overall they are viewed as an evil, expansionist nation that likes war. But internally they just value strength above all else. Ironically and not to retcon the show, they offer any many new nations they conquer a chance to join the nation of Noxus from lowest citizen to highest official. If you can do something and you have the willpower to show your value, you will do well. In short they are a meritocracy which values individuals abilities, strength and talents vs wealth, social class or race. One its highest generals - Darius, started out in the slums in Noxus with his brother Draven and they worked their way up to the highest rank of the army. In short, if you are weak, you will not survive in Noxus society.
I always wonder where people take it from that there's a "officially together" in P&Z. I mean, Cait's father seems to wear a wedding ring (her's I couldn't see because she wore gloves in the scene), ok, but... we don't see any other boyfriend/girlfriend relationships that are explicitly introduced and called that way, do we?

19:33 when you say you feel conflicted, you can only imagine how Jayce must be feeling like. I agree he is privileged. I also think he's naive and good hearted, which is a dangerous combination when dealing with manipulative people like the council. I believe every action he's taken so far (even though some of them might've been controversial), has been taken with good intentions in mind. So yeah, Jayce is a complex character, maybe the most complex due to how important his every decisions' consequences are and that's why I cut him some slack

It's nice to see a reactor who actually gets how much of a negative influence Vi actually is on the course of events. She pushes violence at every turn. As a kid she pushed against Vander and wanted violent rebellion and when Kate has the council listening finally and talking about maybe making some kind of peace with Silco she blows it up and gets them kicked out because she is more concerned with getting back at Silco than with what is best for both cities. Don't get me wrong, SIlco isn't a good leader for the undercity, but it's better than open war.
@@ericsanford536 I kind of get Vi’s perspective though, even if I’m frustrated with this turn of events - I think she just feels like doing nothing isn’t helping the situation and it certainly won’t bring Powder back :/ She’s been fighting her whole life and I think a lot of her self worth is tied to trying to save others, so when she isn’t successful or isn’t making moves in ANY direction, it messes with her self esteem :( I think she’s between a rock and hard place at this point but I also feel she is one of the most empathetic and emotional characters in this show
@@sailorkaylax Oh VI means well. She's not a villian by any means. It's just that her motivations are entirely self-centered (extending self to immediate family). She cares about saving the people she directly cares about to the exclusion of ALL else, and that leads to extremely destructive behavior and makes it hard for her, not only to make peace, but even to allow peace to be made. She's damaged, like most of the people in this show. Even Silco, as evil as he is, legitimately wants to make Zaun 'better' as he sees it, Vi just wants to help Vi and the people she considers family/loved ones.

Ekko is my favorite character, man is a kind-hearted badass which is always a soft spot for me. Jinx is right there with him though. Both of their scenes are the best in the series.
Regarding Silco's feelings about Jinx...you're not entirely wrong but think about it like this, Silco has his own deep seeded abandonment and betrayal issues, is trying to free Zaun from Piltover's unfair governance AND, has no clue on how to even be a father figure. I believe he truly loves Jinx as a daughter AND he values her as a strong "weapon" in his fight against Piltover...both can be true. I believe his intentions are good, he just isn't the best influence on her which leads to the toxic relationship they share.

To be fair to Vi, was the raid a bad idea, yea. But she didnt really expect Jayce to kill a child. The bigger mistake was probably bringing Jayce who has no idea how to fight tbh.
I really like the lines she has at the beginning of ep. 9. OK NOT THE FIRST ONES but the "youve always been a part of this" hits hard. I get that Jayce wasnt in a position to fix things until he became counselor but just like Caitlyn he didnt even know 5% of how bad it is down in the undercity. Cait acknowledged this and even gave up her gun perhapse because she felt unworthy (given the whole "what are you shooting for scene") its safe to say Cait realized she isn't actually protecting people.
Love the reactions! They are great and its awesome to see someone experience this show for the first time.

One thing that didn't click for me at first is that Viktor only cures his crippled leg at first. So when it works he rushes to cure his disease. That's why he is so desperate. I had assumed he was addicted.

I know it probably gets repetitive after a bit, but this is such an important thing for the experience of watching this show that I'll say it anyway: The ending of episode 9 is not a cliffhanger. It sets up some of the conflicts for season 2, but all of the character arcs of season 1 are wrapped up in Episode 9 just fine, such that it's a pretty good self-contained story.

I think i'll just go with Vi betray's Jinx to the council in this episode. She's lied to Jinx alot although not by intention but by choice when push comes to shove. example: Episode 6: you can fire that thing if you want to but im not going anywhere im not going to abandon you again. Episode 7: *Jinx Fires* *Vi leaves with caitlyn* (an enforcer again, but this time its her choice to do so)

my opinion on Silco has more or less stayed the same tbh, but I did shed a few tears over the next episode! I recognize his motivations ultimately are for liberation of Zaun but the way he’s doing it (or did it, rather) I can’t get behind no matter how much he loves Jinx :/
@@sailorkaylax Its very unfortunate. What makes me like this show so much is that you can blame almost everything that happens on any one character. but simultaneously you can pin the blame for any characters actions on another. Or just blame piltover for everything. Truly a tragedy.

You need to have a little more empathy towards characters that you might be inclined to be prejudiced towards because of your beliefs & moral standing. I absolutely understand why you hate him but it's also not fair to write him off as a malevolent father figure who doesn't care about his daughter but her aptitude to aid his cause. And I will disagree that Jin'x's bond with VI is stronger, it will be more apparent, who's bond was stronger in the last episode I think

@ 100%! I agree he is manipulating her, & more often than not, loved ones manipulate each other under the guise of altruism & love. In Silco’s case, although he’s manipulating her for his cause because the priority is Zaun, believe it or not, he does see Zaun in Jinx. Silco doesn’t judge her for being erratic & unhinged, yet VI is not accepting of her sister, even under the banner of love she still judges her for being different and sees her only as powder. Disregarding her Jinx persona, albeit it is destructive. Again I say that from the nuances of the previous episodes but the last episode will solidify what I said, especially how Vi perceives Jinx.
@@PrestigiousConman I get what you’re saying, but I think this is a little unfair. Silco can more easily accept jinx (if you wanna say that) because he had a hand in creating her. He also got to see the progression from powder to jinx in all those years vi was locked away in prison, it’s not such a dramatic turnover for him. The only thing vi had to hold onto was the memory of powder and the hope of one day reuniting with her, it’s what kept her going through everything. It’s not surprising to me that she found the change harder to adjust to because of that
Imagine coming back after so long and finding out your sister has been taken in by and is working under the man who is responsible for so much of you and your family’s suffering. If that wasn’t bad enough, she’s also adopted the demeaning nickname you immediately regretted giving to her and has started identifying under that persona. On top of ALL of that, she’s now a literal murderer who is responsible for causing so much chaos and destruction. I think that combination would be a hard pill to swallow for anybody, let alone in such a short time period
and silco is guilty of the same exact thing but flipped. He encourages jinx to abandon powder and attempts to distance her from reminders of her old life and who she once was. The biggest factor in that is vi, who he immediately tries to kill again when he finds out that she’s still alive

I am dropping a league of legends video, best order to watch things. I updated the list since a brand new cinematic came out a few days ago. I know it’s a long list, but at least it gives you tons of content for quite awhile lol. I think there’s a few ways to watch the stuff, so i’ll recommend two ways.
To start with, I would recommend reacting to “Bridging The Rift - Making of Arcane” . It is an amazing 5 part documentary about the making of Arcane. Riot games is friendly on not copyrighting their content then jump into the playlist below.
Then this is where it can diverge, if you want the most “simplest” as a new Arcane viewer, watch “Blood, Sweat and Tears” then “Welcome To Noxus - League 2025 cinematic.” These tie directly to Arcane, but you won’t understand much of the lore, background, or universe. (We will happily provide the context in the comments of the reactions lol. Again, the league community is huge and we love to see people learn more about this universe.)
Second option is the chronological date of release videos, a playlist I made as best as possible.
(Personal note, I would say the chronological release dates of videos is nice because you can see the evolution of League, Riot Games and how they have gotten to where they are now in today’s quality of storytelling) I will not take offense to whichever route you decide to take lol, I just think going from oldest to newest is kind of cooler and easier to digest as you start to understand the world, lore, and universe.

Noxus as a nation can be slightly hard to explain. Overall they are viewed as an evil, expansionist nation that likes war. But internally they just value strength above all else. Ironically and not to retcon the show, they offer any many new nations they conquer a chance to join the nation of Noxus from lowest citizen to highest official. If you can do something and you have the willpower to show your value, you will do well. In short they are a meritocracy which values individuals abilities, strength and talents vs wealth, social class or race. One its highest generals - Darius, started out in the slums in Noxus with his brother Draven and they worked their way up to the highest rank of the army. In short, if you are weak, you will not survive in Noxus society.
I always wonder where people take it from that there's a "officially together" in P&Z. I mean, Cait's father seems to wear a wedding ring (her's I couldn't see because she wore gloves in the scene), ok, but... we don't see any other boyfriend/girlfriend relationships that are explicitly introduced and called that way, do we?
