I watched your previous run with the very upgraded Searing Blow… then I started a run and got Searing Blow as one of my first card choices… I ended up doing a similar build and I finally beat the heart with Ironclad on A20. I’ve always thought Searing Blow was bad until I tried it myself. Definitely worth it.

Using Fiend Fire to get rid of Sever Soul is the StS equivalent of that Simpsons gag where they keep bringing in more animals to get rid of the previous invasive species.
So is Dark embrace a always take kind of card if you see it early? I'm a seasoned player who has gotten all the way up to A16 but I often skip that card due to it'd high cost
I think early it can really ruin a run, the cost being so hard to afford for very little utility early on. However I think if you already have any other pieces (feel no pain, corruption) its kind of a must-take. I also see Baalor take it when he shouldn't and it often works out anyway so it really depends on how well your deck can perform with a mostly dead card in the early game.
This run is different due to mummified hand. He has many 2 cost card already so while sometimes it is a dead draw, but he can quite easily use dark embrace to make other 2 cost free to not waste energy. Jumpstarting an exhaust synergy at the same time.
I occasionally will save & quit and re-load when I make an obvious misplay early in a fight (first two turns or so). I always try to replay the fight as faithfully to how I did it the first time as I can though
I do this too, in addition to any obvious misclicks. At the end of the day, just do what makes the game fun. Cheesing it reduces the challenge in a tedious and uninteresting way, which is why most top players avoid it completely. But it's a game, after all, and it should be something you enjoy.

yep, definitely a pretty solid damage option if you can get it really early, can give it like 3/4 upgrade in act 1, and got a considerably small deck
Floor 2 Searing Blow and later a Necronomicon, slaps so hard

well exhaust is the mechanic that naturally synergises with everything. Turns out removing cards in card game is powerfull, crazy.

Around the 4th Dark Embrace, I started to think things may have gotten a little silly.

I saved and quit one time during the cryptic writing event because I took all the damage and accidentally left instead of taking the book. :P
