    Took this course 12 years ago. Wayne said if we took the course twice, we would get a type rating. Did get my high altitude, FAR 61.31, sign off which is a required sign off. Great course, would like to retake it after I complete a full systems course. This course is like drinking from a fire hose!

    **Offer** Hey Josh. I am a 43 yr old Dad of 3, husband and family pilot. We live just outside of Dallas. I am a fan of your channel and after watching this I am 100% in. Would be cool if you came up and did it with me. I want to give back to you by paying for you to do this with me. If you’re up to it, message me and we’ll get some plans together.

      This is a real 737-800 cockpit in the simulator. I did both the American & Jet Blue ATOP experiences and it was totally engaging and of value to work at being a better pilot. I did these courses to help relate aviation and airline training to student pilots. Wayne is truly a fantastic presenter and teacher, and every pilot will learn to work harder at their flying and/or career, if that is their goal. BTW there are several different training devices, and the one without the windows is used for process training efficiency. Some even work at just paper versions of the cockpit to learn switch locations and memorize touching them for the functions involved on the checklists. These are the same simulators American and Jet Blue use for type rating their pilots.

    I did the ATOP course 12 or so years ago and it was amazing. Uncle Wayne is an amazing instructor probably one of the best I've ever had. The experience was amazing and I am still kicking myself for not taking Wayne up on his offer to walk me in to what at that time was Contential Express.
    I need to go back and do it again and this time I'll take Uncle Wayne up on that offer!

    Did the ATOP course with Wayne a couple years ago - the A320 @ JetBlue. A great experience and well worth the money. Highly recommend you do it - Wayne is the real deal. We had people from 18 to 60+ years old, pilots, student pilots, CFI's, and people just interested in flying. All seemed very happy with the entire experience. The simulator itself was also an incredible experience. I had been in a simulator many years before and the technology today is just awesome. Plus, at the end of it all I had log book entries with an A320! :-)

    I wish I suffer from acrophobia. If there is a No-Fly list for scaredy-cats, I am on top of that list. But loving flight sims, this would be so damned fun! I would take the course so that I could be that one person on the plane that answers "Does anyone know how to fly?" when the pilots are incapacitated. But then, I am fearful of flying, so that is a moot point :-) Good info here. Thanks

      As someone who's flown in the sim for 8 years, I disagree. I have 55 hours in the 172 and it's drastically different. I see why they require at the very least ten hours as a bare minimum.

    • @CommentCritic
      @CommentCritic 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, the feels will be completely different, but you DO have the knowledge from the sim. I honestly don't think that you can just "jump in" to a real jet after flying a sim for some time.
