This is good tutorial on receding tones in the landscape with premixed set of colours on the palette. This simplifies the procedures and makes it more approachable. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment.
Love it so many wonderful greys. The sky meeting the mountains is is magical❤
@@darcymanwaring1489 thank you!
Your brushwork is super-effective!! Such a great painting. Thanks so much for sharing your process.
Thank you so much!
Truly helpful video, and lovely little painting! Thanks so much for doing this.
Thanks for tuning in!
Short but packed with ideas and once again you are able to take a relatively plain view but creat an exciting painting !
Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Very helpful. I really liked the shades you chose. They look great in the finished composition.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing! Very nice indeed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love how you can take a seemingly boring scene and create a beautiful composition.
Boring is in the eye of the beholder! 😅 I agree, this is a really solid painting 💖.
It’s so much fun to play and invent, using the photo only as a jumping off point.
LOVE THAT QUOTE!! Be a poet , not a reporter 💜💜thank you !! Norakag , here
Lovely
Thank so much! I'm glad you're here.
THANK YOU! I just returned from a plein air workshop in France and I can tell how valuable is this video. I do not pre-mix, but I can see how you use this so effectively. Lovely painting and great explanations. Loli

Nice thank you
You’re welcome.
Gorgeous! Was it cooler up in Lander? A little bird told me you were painting Up North lately.... ;)
Lander was beautiful…been there twice this summer already. Went up to Bozeman too, through Teton and Yellowstone NPs, which was spectacular!
Question… did you tone your canvas on site or do you arrive with some prepared choices.?
I always tone on site, choosing the color that best meets my objective for that painting.
Nice video but why do you skip blending the sky and the trees ?
I didn't feel the need to blend. I like the freshness and energy of the un-blended paint strokes. It really is a personal preference. :-)
Scott, I really like that painting. When you said you were just gonna put a low bar in there no big deal it doesn’t have to draw away from your main subject. I said wow that bar looks pretty good. Thank you for the instruction. I appreciate it. Great work.
@@vickiescallan5651 thank you, Vickie 🙂
@@ScottRuthvenFineArt hi scott ty for the reply what i mean was why did you skip the adjustments you made at cetrain points for eg 5:15 and 5:59 theres the hardest parts i struggle with :/ gd video though not hating :)
Why do you have the tips appear on the screen for such a short time? By the time you notice they're there, they disppear....frustrating as it could have been much more interesting.
Sorry about that. You can always double tap or left arrow to rewind 10sec and then pause to read. Thanks for your feedback.
