    Судя по ниткам сверху и другим признакам, этот статор уже у них перебирали, в другом ролике. А при том что коллектор там вообще без износа, стартеры после их ремонта ходят совсем недолго.

    في الحقيقة هو مبدع وأنصحه فقط بعدم حرق الروتور كي لا يتلف العازل بين الصفائح المعدنية ولا يفقد قدرته الكهرومغناطيسية بسبب تغير خواص المعدن بالحرق ، يجب عليه إيجاد طريقة أخرى لإستخراج الأسلاك النحاسية بدون استعمال النار ، وباقي عمله إبداع .

    Very Interesting! 2 questions;
    1. What was he doing when he was using the wire and the light?
    2. Was the liquid he applied to the armature a type of water proofing?

      1. checking for shorts n continuity 2. varnish, stops corrosion and helps insulate

    • @ukpkmkk_2
      @ukpkmkk_2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@piperdoug428 the resin (varnish) also helps keep the windings in place so that they won't vibrate and become loose.

  • @ukpkmkk_2
    @ukpkmkk_2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Apart from the steel shaft probably losing some of its hardness due to heat used to burn the resin, I think he's done everything right.. I still would've soldered the copper windings to the brush surface because of my OCD.. But with that silk thread and resin they aren't going anywhere anyway..

      I doubt it it effects the steel shaft as one it not in direct contact with the source and secondly , for any serious molecular changes you need to heat to atleast 500 Centigrade

    • @ianrutherford878
      @ianrutherford878 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think over time and with possible moisture the unsoldered connections will deteriorate with oxidation.But I've seen a lot of criticism of repairs of all kinds of things that will have shorter 'lives' than original higher standard work and I reckon that the use must be long enough to outweigh more frequent repairs.

    • @ukpkmkk_2
      @ukpkmkk_2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ianrutherford878 oxidation happens where oxygen can flow.. Having said that joints that are jammed with a hammer are very unlikely to deteriorate within 50 years I guess.. Not saying it's impossible but it's highly unlikely and even then it would take way longer than you'd hope this will still work for.
      Like a screw in a threaded hole.. You can let it sit and rust for ages and when you unscrew it you see that the contact surface (the thread) is still shiny like new.

    • @ianrutherford878
      @ianrutherford878 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ukpkmkk_2 Yet I have to wonder if profit-hungry manufacturers would expend resources on soldering if they really thought it was unnecessary.Movement due to heat and vibration (and maybe corrosion) must lead to some failures of unsoldered joints or they wouldn't do it.

    For when you are cutting the plastic tubing and trying to get equal length pieces, you should make a makeshift wooden slot that has a notch for the cut length. This way you can just slide the tubing up against a hard edge and cut. Some scrap wood should suffice and speed up this process. It could even be done ahead of time if you are using the same length regularly.

    If you carefully read the box on starters and alternators at discount auto parts they are actually cleaned up used ones with new bearings and brushes. These are rebuilt like we used to do in the US 40-50 years ago. They're wearing sandals, working on a dirt floor with home made tools and I'd buy their products in a heartbeat.

      @@ukpkmkk_2 Sir, I'm a retired mechanic with 45 Years experience. The problems I saw was too much hammer and no solder on the winding ends when he assembled the stater.

    • @ukpkmkk_2
      @ukpkmkk_2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@robertfrye3651 I agree partially on soldering the windings, I too mentioned it in a previous comment.. Not that I wouldn't do it but With the windings' endings hammered into place and all that silk thread and resin I don't think it'll make any difference to solder.. There's already good contact and it's not going anywhere.. Besides there's nowhere for the solder to go since the ends were jammed in place from the side and machined from above.. Which only leaves soldering from below which looks like an unnecessary pain in the behind..
      As for the argument "too much hammer" I don't think I need to say anything to an argument as vague as this.. If you need a hammer you use a hammer.. There's no specific amount of usage for each tool..
      If you have 50 screws on a certain piece you don't quit half way and start using pliers because you already used too much screwdriver.. What would a lumberjack then do for God's sake?
      Does a hammer have the reputation of being an elegant tool? No..
      But does using it make him a butcher? I don't think so..
      Mind you this workshop doesn't really look like the utopian western workshops which have a specific tool for each and every specific task..
