I grew up in Bethesda. My parents house is a colonial, small 3 bedroom built in the 50^s. Their house is worth about $800,000 and was bought in 1965 for $ 25,000. They are tearing down the houses and being sold for 2 million.
My dad bought our K-town hose for $30,000 in 1965, the year I was born. Looking at google maps street view, it has been added on to the point of respectability. But still over the top. The rest of the neighborhood looks like just a bunch of wannabe's moved in with cash. K-town kids HATED cash-rich wannabe's back in my day. THAT was how we felt back in the 70's and 80's. K-town kids mowed lawns and worked locally. I wonder who is mowing the lawns these days. Probably some company that charges much more than my previous $10.00 fee. I hope you all don't overbuild so much that the 17-year Locusts die off. Would rather the humans go.
Short of having of 5 million in the bank, neither are worth a crap. I grew up in K-town. Get out of that place and never consider it. The painted lady, as my mother used to call her, people that live paycheck to paycheck hauling in $500K annually or more. Graduate high school folks. Move on.
amazing video
