Season 4 was supposed to be the season of all these "Crazy wacky changes that will really shake things up and totally 'ruin the game' haha" but Pot feels like the only character who actually walked away with anything meaningful. An armored command grab and projectile garuda both just fundamentally break rules of the game and of fighting games as a whole, and like, that's cool, but why is Pot the only character who has anything insane like that? Like imagine giving Pot armored buster and giving Testament stain popping on throws and thinking those are in any way comparable. If you're going to let characters break rules and be insane, every character should be like that, not just one.

Not quite Arcsys but DNF's Grappler is loaded with armor with an armored grab being his staple, and so on. It's really not that weird at all. Projectile Garuda IS kind of wild for Strive specifically, but it's not even that crazy when you view it through the lens of many other characters also using projectiles to setup oki. Potemkin just doesn't have a dash, and he lacks a high/low mix, so his setup is a strike/throw mix with a higher payoff given it's generally harder for him to get into that position. Now, they did say they were going to tune how karas worked with moves individually, and personally I don't think karas should have come back (I say this as a Pot main from season 1 to now), but the Garuda having both the projectile property AND karas is a bit crazy since the projectile property was only added to make sure he wasn't trivial to stuff out of his gameplan with FD after he lost them. Having them back on top and travelling as far as they do is probably a bit much.

please don't spread misinformation, garuda > garuda frame trap is only possible after a meaty garuda, any other garuda after the second garuda is fake and can be jumped
i know some big characters can't avoid the other garudas with jumping which will allow rps, but you can still react with a mash 2K, the gap is 9 frames
I pretty sure he means that if he jumps and the pot calls it out he dies. It's the common knowledge between the players of the risk and reward that makes jumping undesirable. (Like teaching in a throw loop in street fighter.)
@@datlotad234 But as long as the previous Garuda isn't a meaty, anybody can jump it. It's 28f on Start-Up and 30 if Kara'd, so if he's telling people to react to Forward Fukyo which is 25f, he should be able to jump react over the next Garuda. The only problem in that clip is that Pot has meter. If he jumps it, Pot can still reset the mix with a 6P or Heat Knuckle.
As EX top 60 pot projectile garuda is ass. Kara garuda bouncing back and going forward is another level of rps that was taken from us. Think about it. You have them in the corner, just far enough to beat dp (unless it's leo) and close enough to hit. Back then they would FD and think "will he kara and I can counter with DP or will he not and we clash/I lose". And don't make me start on KBMF routes. God I miss those
I've been playing since beta, I liked Nago, Sol, Leo being the best. Having a standard of power and presumed character ranking helps guide balancing and design. Having a strict power economy at the base level helps prevent stuff like big bodies that do everything with not enough downside. Season 4.1 Pot isn't broken, he's just badly designed.
if you aren't playing at the level where any given characters bustedness becomes actually relevant, and statistically you aren't, it's just salt and ego defence.
With all due respect my dude, that's a pretty stupid take. If you had to say that, I'm afraid you're acknowledging that a character is busted (and Potemkin isn't, he just has some annoying bullshit to him) which matters a lot unless you're playing stupidly bad.
Lol I played a ram the other day, and concluded that she was indeed broken almost beyond repair. The interaction level is so low, that if you don't get a perfect round-start, you're unlikely to get back into that round. Pot on the other hand, has reasonable counterplay options. He's very strong, but at least I still feel like I get to play the game a bit before making one or two mistakes that allows him to pot buster his way to victory. Oh and the Ram I played? Said that Ram isn't broken compared to some of the other characters.

Tending to get upset when the grappler doesn't have the usual glaringly obvious weakness that they can play around
The problem is that Pot just kinda straight up has no weakness that matters as much as he fucks you up, He gets more meter than you, more damage than you, more hp than you and you just have to hold the fact that Potemkin gets more than you which sucks
@Rialster Yeah i should probably reiterate he definitely needs some tuning and should not maintain the current state he's in lol
@@Rialster well, it’s also when he does have weaknesses, the way the game works let’s him burst immediately and build it back so quickly due to high health so you feel like you can never make progress vs him.
RANG13 VS ABBYSAIRAF MENCIONADO RAHHHHH

Pottom 1 character fr
oh my god a top tier player who doesn't cry about pot and shares an objective viewpoint about the character????
GODBLESS YOU HOTASHI MAY YOU WIN ALL YOUR GAMES THE POTBROS NOW STAND WITH YOU
Aight but like…. his RPS is nothing but fucked up, and he will eat through 500% of your hp though
Is he broken? No.
But I will say, with absolute certainty, that I can hit Celestial with a Day 1 Pot without losing a single round or training mode prior.
Then do it
🤡
Lol
please don't spread misinformation, garuda > garuda frame trap is only possible after a meaty garuda, any other garuda after the second garuda is fake and can be jumped
i know some big characters can't avoid the other garudas with jumping which will allow rps, but you can still react with a mash 2K, the gap is 9 frames
I pretty sure he means that if he jumps and the pot calls it out he dies. It's the common knowledge between the players of the risk and reward that makes jumping undesirable. (Like teaching in a throw loop in street fighter.)
Yes guys please jump against pot
@@datlotad234 But as long as the previous Garuda isn't a meaty, anybody can jump it. It's 28f on Start-Up and 30 if Kara'd, so if he's telling people to react to Forward Fukyo which is 25f, he should be able to jump react over the next Garuda.
The only problem in that clip is that Pot has meter. If he jumps it, Pot can still reset the mix with a 6P or Heat Knuckle.
Right mash buttons during rps. 33% you hit 2k 2d for 10% pot hp and oki. 66% lose 75% hp. Projectile Garuda is not fun.
God I miss those
Strive players when there's a top tier that isn't the same 5 characters that have been top tier for the game's entire lifespan: 😡😡😡😡
Frfr. Took 4 years for nago to even have a risk to popping (talking the health nerf) but all of a sudden pot is the badguy XD
Literally
if you aren't playing at the level where any given characters bustedness becomes actually relevant, and statistically you aren't, it's just salt and ego defence.
I love Potemkin
Ggst is so scrub xd
