Are you sure that you are going to Heaven? You pray and you pray but your prayers are never answered, you say to yourself that God works in mysterious ways and perhaps with God's help everything will be alright in the future but you know deep down inside yourself that your pleas and prayers will never be answered because in the big scheme of things you are just not important enough for Jesus to take any action on your behalf. Jesus is a busy guy and there are millions of Christians praying to him every minute of every day, that's billions of prayers he has to consider and prioritise, next he has to check up on whether or not you have been faithful and have been paying your tithes, whether you have asked forgiveness for the plethora of sins you have committed lately and whether or not you have been attending church. If you get a pass on all of God's questions then maybe you'll be put on the list but this is no guarantee that Jesus will see things your way and grant your wishes. You would be far better off asking Satan for help, he's always happy to to listen and he doesn't want ten percent of everything you own. Your choice.

I wish it was clear whether or not Jesus/the Bible are to be taken literally or metaphorically or both.. the teachings are absolutely vital, but I do not understand if *"Heaven"* is a state of being which we can attain during this lifetime or if it truly is a kingdom we can go to once we pass on.

That being said, look up NDE stories so that you come to your own conclusions about an afterlife. However, I agree with you. I also don't know for sure what Jesus meant with Heaven. We have to keep in mind, too, that Jesus, as the Son of God, most likely had to dumb down his words so that mortals could even begin to grasp what He was saying. There is a metaphysical reality that even the Greeks were stumped on and I believe Jesus was the spiritual teacher that actually managed to explain it to us in the best way possible. My son is 9 and I am 38. Please pray for us as we love one another so much but only get to be together once every other weekend. He cries when having to leave and lights up when arriving. Are you sure that you are going to Heaven? You pray and you pray but your prayers are never answered, you say to yourself that God works in mysterious ways and perhaps with God's help everything will be alright in the future but you know deep down inside yourself that your pleas and prayers will never be answered because in the big scheme of things you are just not important enough for Jesus to take any action on your behalf.
Jesus is a busy guy and there are millions of Christians praying to him every minute of every day, that's billions of prayers he has to consider and prioritise, next he has to check up on whether or not you have been faithful and have been paying your tithes, whether you have asked forgiveness for the plethora of sins you have committed lately and whether or not you have been attending church.
If you get a pass on all of God's questions then maybe you'll be put on the list but this is no guarantee that Jesus will see things your way and grant your wishes.

However, I agree with you. I also don't know for sure what Jesus meant with Heaven. We have to keep in mind, too, that Jesus, as the Son of God, most likely had to dumb down his words so that mortals could even begin to grasp what He was saying. There is a metaphysical reality that even the Greeks were stumped on and I believe Jesus was the spiritual teacher that actually managed to explain it to us in the best way possible.
